zbdubs
Getting very interested to try a SIK Putter. The idea behind their Descending Loft Tech (DLT) seems very cool. Knowing that I don't always return the same exact amount of loft to the ball at impact, having some tech to provide some more consistency to the speed/role quality could be a game changer. Anyone have experience with it? Anyone have experience with it? I tried the flo as part of this years most wanted mallet testing. i was impressed and it is a putter I want to go try again. Feel is more on the harsh than soft side if that makes any difference. As for the roll, it seemed to work for me, but I feel like I am pretty consistent in delivering the putter . zbdubs 1 Quote Driver: G400 Max 9* w/ KBS Tour Driven Fairway: TS3 15* w/Project X Hzardous Smoke Hybrids: 915H 21* w/KBS Tour Graphite Hybrid Prototype 915H 24* w/KBS Tour Graphite Hybrid Prototype Irons: TR20V 6-11 w/Vizard TR20-85 Graphite Wedge: 54/12D, 60/8M w/:Accra iWedge 90 Graphite Putter: Sacks Parente MC 3 Stripe Backup Putters: Milled Collection RSX 2, mFGP2, Futura 5W, TM-180 Member: MGS Hitsquad since 2017
zbdubs
Thanks for the reply @cnosil. I was just looking to see if anyone could confirm if there was any legitimacy behind the technology. They are expensive putters to just try out. bluesmandan76
I’ve had a couple of them. They are nice putters in general, but the main tech they advertise (dlt) doesn’t really work. The tech is predicated on having the exact same return height on the putter... it works if you do that and ONLY vary your shaft lean, but in my experience many more variables change along with shaft lean, so whatever benefit it supposedly gives is negated. Hit the putt “thin” (towards the bottom of the face) and there’s no loft at all. You’re better off with a putter you can first line up really well, and then maybe some tech like Evnroll or the Taylormade insert. At least Sik uses horizontal grooves, which are better imo than other patterns.Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk cnosil, zbdubs, Kansas King and 1 other 4 Quote Driver: TM M1 9.5* 4W: Wishon bent FLAT Irons: Mizuno MP20MB Wedges: 50/55/60 Mizuno Putter: Evnroll ER2
wowski_golf
I have been wanting to get one of these for almost 10 years. First introduced to them when a competitor in College had one and it looked so good. He was kind enough to let me roll some putts with it after the round. Solid fell but the DLT wasn't noticeable tech but I do remember liking how the tech didn't take over the look of the putter.
tjyorke
Great idea. For me i really can't tell how a putter rolls . I can see the technical stuff how its suppose to roll but i have never used one and i have had lots that i would say man that rolls well. Quigleyd
I played one for a little while. I got a really good deal on it and It was nice, I thought it had a good feel and performed well. It was their anser style blade. Ultimately I simply moved away because I wanted something more face balance. I know they have options for face balanced putters. I just didn't have the cash at the time. I think they make really good putters. UCFGolfer23
SIK makes great putters. Learned about them from API (Arnold Palmer Invitational) and the putters looked beautiful. Had a quick session with them when I lived in Orlando & they use Quintic. Very knowledgable gents about putting, they noticed how my shoulders being open at address was affecting the delivery to the putter on Quintic. Looking at flying back home & putting one in the bag! deauxrite
I first tried the Sik Armlock. It is a very nice putter, but after 2 months I just could not get the lag putts in the two foot circle that I shoot for. I traded it for a Sik blade putter and it is now my gamer. I really love my Scotty, but I make more putts with the Sik. I think that lag putting with the Sik is much easier for me..whether it is the DLT or just the heavy head I am enjoying the success. BTW: I use an X-putt for my practice. I keep statistics on putter face angles and putt length. I am better at keeping the putter face square at impact with the Sik than with anything else that I have tried. cnosil 1 Quote M2 Driver Fujikura Regular Flex Mizuno 921 Tour Irons-- Titleist Wedges A new Sik Armlock putter
richk9holes
I found a Sik DW 2.0 C slant neck with pistol grip in Golf Galaxy's pre owned section and got it cheap after trading the 2 putters I had been played prior. Now 3 rounds in with it, my observation is lagging a putt is easier. Not sure if that is DLT or some other factor. Previously I played a stroke lab #1 blade and hated the insert and light weight. Prior to that a Cleveland HB soft #11c that had a good feel but was difficult to sight. The Sik DW feels like the happy medium between them. Easy to sight and sturdy enough to feel confident over a 40 ft uphill lag while keeping that Anser style blade shape I like.
