Launch Monitor Rentals

Recommended Posts

Are you renting a LM at a facility like GG? Or a unit to use at your range? On the former I've 'rented' time at a Golfzon facility ($30./hr) using their driving range software to dial in clubs. I've also used our Club Pro's LM on our Club's golf range. There was no charge for the latter but the results were limited (it was a ES 14) so mostly swing and ball speed. I know that both Golf Galaxy and PGA Superstore have time available to rent. However I'd be more tempted to use a local simulator store like a Golfzon.

Thanks for the response!  Was really looking to rent one at a driving range as I'm considering getting the precision pro r1 rangefinder, but also got new irons and want to dial in my numbers.

Problem with using a LM at a driving range to dial in your numbers are the balls.   Range balls will not have the same launch characteristics as your gamer balls.   i.e.  your number will be off.   You'll be better off using the launch monitor hitting into a net (or indoor range where you can retrieve your balls) using your own balls.

True but trackman can be set to normalize and reflect what the numbers would be with a prov1. Also depending on the condition of the range balls the numbers can be relatively accurate. The balls at my primary range produce close enough numbers to several of the balls I use when compared side by side.

That's a great point. Thanks for the input!
