TruGolf APOGEE - new camera launch monitor

TruGolf just announced their new camera-based ceiling-mounted Launch Monitor.  Seems very similar to the Uneekor series.

Supposed to have a “Hey APOGEE” voice command function like Siri/Alexsa.

Some of the other cool features include a laser that shows the hitting area before shots and that it doesn’t need any stickers on the club face or special golf balls.

Love seeing more products in this space. Just hoping they keep competitive pricing so that eventually some of us can better afford them. 11K is in the high range and think I would prefer the GC3 over this, but then again who knows!

Exactly.  With lots of options at the $10k and up range, it becomes a moot point.  I would think the strategy should be to blow it up and underprice compared to the big dogs and just make a killing in pure volume.  Top tier accuracy, $1,500 and just sell a boat load.

I've been using the R10 the last week or so as I have one on demo and while it has some strengths in ease of use and such the accuracy leaves a fair bit to be desired. its at $600. Even in the 3k range which is what the Bushnell GC3 is at would be an amazing deal.

Even with the Bushnell; the subscription model annoys me.  I just wish some companies would, you know, give you what you pay for.  No subscriptions, no unlock-able features, just the full deal.  Old school mentality I guess.

For sure, that being said you all are lucky in the US where it is even available. Here in the EU it is only GC3 from foresight which means its pretty much double. 

Unfortunately I don't believe subscription models are going anywhere anytime soon.

BUUUUUTTTT If you bought this, or GC Hawk, or any other overhead system you could play in your home Sim with your buddies who are not likely playing from the wrong side of the ball like you do!

I've often thought about SkyTrak and such and wonder how much of a PIA it would be to play some rounds with friends where you have lefties and righties playing.

Or buy two? Yeah that is true. The one time I did use a system like this I found it was near impossible to hit a ball with any shape. Everything just went dead straight which although fun, did take some of the joy out of it because I knew it wasn't true.
