Great... Now all the pressure is on me for the ATK wedge. Everyone else got all FLX sets.

I definitely did not work from home today in order to be around for the delivery... Too bad it was unnecessary and they have rescheduled for tomorrow. Now I'm just hoping that is at least accurate as the tracking hasn't moved since Saturday.

I have had an update; my new toys have left the Indi building and are due at my door on the 10th of August...

UPS came through for me today with the truck dropping off the box right as I pulled in from work today. Solid, standard box with no apparent damage so UPS was kind to the package unlike some of the other boxes we have seen in other reviews this year.

image.png.25f24dfb8e6cd9bbc5b9ab7f00e4c1db.png

No styrofoam blocks or excessive packaging, just plastic wrap around the heads, covered by two layers of bubble wrap sleeves, then a plastic bag over each club. Also packed in the box was an Indi shirt, hat, can koozie and a divot tool. The added items were packed to keep things from moving around and served the purpose with no issues.

image.png.8ade5f61f4ed7a0f3b6399d8ce1157fd.png

Now for what people really care about. Let's see these wedges. First off, I'm a big fan of the brushed chrome. As you can tell in the comparison photos, the PXG wedges are a little shiny at times.

image.png.4a796f2f3d6cb215ff3b88fb842937e0.png          image.png.e00c2364db03bf04a6e74f64d0af6b49.png

First glance, you can see the difference in the grind between the FLX and ATK wedges when you compare the 50 and 54 degree against the 58, with the 58 having more relief in the back. The obvious difference between the three dots compared to "The Sloth" is nice to see in addition to serving it's purpose for performance. I need some help from others though, I have asked multiple people what they believe that logo to look like, and I've mostly heard sloth, but so far, my favorite was "Meerkat wearing a helmet".

image.png.1787e70e311712742a2df90d49b483a5.png

Comparing against the PXG wedges, the Indi wedges have slightly wider soles, which I'm perfectly happy about, and I'm looking forward the comparing the 58 degree wedges especially.

As Rob mentioned in the community call, you definitely notice the difference in the number of grooves, in my case going from 16 to 22.

20230802_024931184_iOS.jpg.23f65067fd92df3ecdae9d94c7540372.jpg

So, in terms of the wedges being tested for myself, we are going with:
50* FLX, 54* FLX, 58 ATK, all with KBS 610 Wedge shafts, +1/2" and 1* upright. If I have to be super nitpicky, the clubs came with Golf Pride MCC+4 grips in standard size rather than the Midsize that was written in the notes on the order form. As mentioned before, it was interesting that the FLX heads did not have an option for the KBS 610 shafts on the Indi website, but the notes on the order requested all of the shafts to match. The grip is likely a minor oversight as it was only in the notes, and I will just swap it out if it bothers me enough. I'm excited and curious to find out how many comments I'm going to get on them once I take them to the course later this week.

While I wait patiently for my wedges to arrive,

giphy-downsized-large.gif

I have a question for you all to ponder. Is there such a thing as too much spin?

We all know that high spin with a driver causes the ball to balloon and kills your distance. Could it be that the same thing will happen with a wedge? I know we all dream of doing this

giphy-downsized-large.gif

but could it be that us mere mortals will just come up short?

To anyone that may be using ShotScope, I went to change my wedges last night and the only wedge listed under Indi was the TT Stingray wedge. I emailed CS last night and as of this morning, the FLX and ATK have been added as options. So kudos to ShotScope for the quick update and now mine is ready to start logging data.

Solid start for the Indi wedges on the range today. Took a little bit to adjust to the length, but overall hit them well. The 50 degree wedge actually came out the same length as my PW, and is around a full inch longer than my PXG 50 degree so there was an adjustment. Interesting that I was more heel side today whereas my typical miss is toe side. I didn't get to try them around the short game areas because they were packed with the local high school teams. Promising results with consistent dispersion towards targets on the range though. I had headphones in so obviously couldn't hear any audible differences between the wedges and really only noticed the swing weight difference between the two. Now the struggle of waiting to get them on the course.

Awesome work on this. Mine arrived a day early and got them to the short game facility today and want to take them to the course soon and into shot scope. Unboxing and initial impressions coming soon with the first face off against the ping glides.

Interesting, I also find that I’m more heel side with these. A little scary at first.

Driver: Taylor Made Xi10 10.5 Diamana S plus 60  R flex   - 44.25

Fairways:  Ping G410 5, 7, 9 wood  Alta CB red 65 R flex

Hybrid:  Ping G410  26 degree  Alta CB Red 70 R flex

Irons: Ping G430  7-PW, 45, 50 Alta CB black 65 soft R flex

Wedges:  Ping 195 S54, E58

Wedges and irons are - 1/2” and one degree flat

Putter: Sacks Parente Duke 32.5”

Ball: Titleist Pro VI or Callaway Chrome Soft X ls

While not at the same time I was fit for every club in my bag as well as the Pro VI ball. I use the chrome soft x ls on my league course.  It has much softer softer greens than the club that I belong to.

I’m on a mission to shoot my age - lifetime lowest round is 66 and I’m currently 67.

@Willie T mentioned  that they felt "lighter". I wonder if moving weight away from the hosel is causing a small change in swing path and face delivery?

Could be - it’s also I tweeting how relative this is. To me they feel heavier.

Yeah the weight thing will all come down to what wedges you had before and personal perceptions

Interesting that you say that about swing path and delivery…maybe “for me” the clubs are so balanced they “feel” lighter.  As I told my son these wedges are very accurate in terms of lines to the target. Very few pushes or pulls.  Distance control is coming around, all based on work in the backyard with the 10 to 30 yd shots.  Even hit some this morning between rain showers….best swing so far….from 15yds, hit a slam dunk into the cup with the 58! (Sadly no video or spectators to verify).
