Dave in Asia
I just mentioned them briefly in another thread, but thought the new Wilson Staff irons deserved greater attention. If you haven't already seen them, the new Wilson Staff Fg59 and the FG Tour forgings are really great looking irons. Click on the links below. SPY VIP GolfSpy Dave Posted March 18, 2010 SPY VIP Share Posted March 18, 2010 Ci9 are the only ones in my weight class and they look a bit too busy in the cavity for me... Others look great, but we would not work well together... Volvo Intorqueo All the cool kids follow me on twitter: @GolfspyDave If you are not a cool kid, following me on twitter will make you cool... caddyjoe77
I was thinking those blades lok like the FG-17's i have...and oddly enough....they made these to be like the FG-17's. Would you same the same about Scratch, Adams, TourEdge, Bobby jones, Bridgestone, etc I believe that Wilson is a much larger company than any of these, with the exception of Bridgestone. Bigger than Wilson may be a tough find. BIgger than Wilson's golf division, maybe. But they are not a small company. Lots of other sports served by them. AndrewG
Wilson in the UK for me has always been a 'budget' brand (My first set of clubs were Wilson ProStaff) - but the more I look at their new stuff, the more I like it, and if Cobra do get canned by Puma, I might very well jump ship to them - those prototype irons on another thread are beautiful... cmsaternus
I remember when Wilson was the top brand, when everybody was playing Wilson Staff irons, but that was a long time ago. I hit some Wilsons at a demo day recently and I thought they were nice, they just don't have the marketing that other companies have now.
Addicted2Golf
Wow, the FG59's are beautiful. Unfortunately, the ci9's are probably are more my speed. Addicted2Golf
I'm going to reach out to Wilson to see if we can start demo'ing some of their stuff at A2G. MmmmmmBuddy
The Wilson Staff brand has lost some of its luster in recent years, like MacGregor. It is unfortunate, but most of todays players cant remember when everybody played Wilson Staff Irons and woods. Really good stuff, but fighting a branding problem.
