9 gram difference in driver shaft

Recommended Posts

I was recently fit into a Graphite design tour AD XC-6s I have a swing speed of 100-105. I am comfortable with the flex. However, I got a XC-7s on a killer deal new uncut from 2nd swing gollf. I am debating getting tipped and playing it or returning it.

What type of differences do you think I could typically expect with those additional 9 grams in the shaft? I understand that results vary.

Probably going to see performance differences.  Weight is a big factor in fitting shafts; more than flex since flex isn’t really standard.    IMO, you see fit into a 60gr weight class and should go with what you were fit into,

Depends on how sensitive you are to weight. 9g can be enough to cause issue or it can be meaningless. That’s just less than 2 quarters.

the change is stiffness from the shafts could be an issue or it may not be. Again depends on how sensitive to change the person is.

Using swing speed isn’t the best choice for looking to see how a weight change will go. I know guys who are on the slower side that swing a 60g shaft better and faster than a 50g shaft
