Well the rain started as I was pulling out of the driveway.  Delayed 20 minutes and made it through 4 holes. Decided to go to breakfast instead.

Incredible recovery shots are set up by an equally incredible miss.

One of my concerns with the Ghost GT-14 was the side pocket with the zipper that faces skyward.

The zipper looks water-tight but may be a collection area.  You notice any excess water there?

How did the bag do in the rain?

Every pocket was dry. But.... We used the cart bag cover as well.

The question about clubs having interference with the putter was mentioned recently and I had a moment today to investigate what I had experienced myself and wrote about in the past week.1000007965.jpg.07199d0a56889f58c286fc74b2b12b81.jpgFound this zipper when doing the unboxing.

I removed everything from the left side large pocket to get a look at what might be found by looking through the open zipper with the clubs in the bag.

1000007966.jpg.416884e5d59e6fc6d78b2fe40d9c9482.jpg Opening the zipper

With the zipper open all the way it's easy to see the putter's, black and white Press 3⁰ grip has moved back into the club sleeve of the left front corner occupied by the Stan Thompson Ginty Trouble club, easy to identify as it is the only club on the front half of the bag with a steel shaft.

1000007967.jpg.ecc19c90a4674a7315753777838df78e.jpg Sneaky L.A.B. DF-2.1

The front left support rod is the black steel shaft not the L.A.B. LA graphite shaft and the edge of the partition is next to it but not attached to the support rod   I'm considering how to attach the hemmed edge of the club divider fabric to prevent the putter from falling through the gap.  I'm reminded of the clips on tents to attach nylon fabric to give the tent shape and rigidity and something like that would be ideal if included in the initial construction.

1000007968.jpg.dfedd9a503d46ba4d3b06a793c8db727.jpg The putter well divider fabric intended to keep the putter and the front row of clubs apart is the fabric to the right of the bag support rod being held by my finger and thumb.

Considering the price point of the GT-14 cart bag, this seems to be an errant oversight unless it has been addressed and the result of quality control.

So if i am understanding correctly,  the dividers do not in fact go all the way down and allow the grips to cross at the bottom?

BTW, cool shot of an access point if something falls into the bag bottom!

I found they do go all the way down to the bottom of the bag, full length dividers.

You will notice in my photograph there is no other club visible by the steel shaft in the other sleeve that is not the putter well.

The putter well is big but the sides of the dividing fabric are loose and not attached to the sides of the bag so when the putter slides to either side it can slip through the gap, is what I discovered.

I like the access point as it gives great utility to actually observe the bottom of the nearest sleeve and I was not able to sneak my finger into any other space than the front sleeve and the putter well.

Bonus would be if you dropped your keys into the putter well or the front corner sleeve you would not have to empty out the whole bag to invert it and shake them out.

I think the entire issue would be solved by connecting the putter well sleeve to the vertical support rod as it is right against the outside fabric of the bag when the zipper is closed and even a standard width putter grip would not be able to sneak around that side of the rod IMHO.

When I get home from work tonight I will check my bag and see if there is a difference in regards to the bottom of the putter well.

Was able to get out and play 9 on Friday. Posted previously the bag fitting in the back of the Mustang. Tight fit, but it works thankfully as its my current daily driver

Beautiful day out on the course, unfortunately playing extremely slow. Stands well, and fits the Caddytek perfectly. The blue is beautiful out on the course, but man does it got out if its out in the sun! Want to do some testing on the heat soak vs ice in the cooler pockets before it gets too cold out.

Today's focus is on the fit of the Ghost Golf GT-14 Oreo Cart Bag in my vehicle where my golf bag "has to go" according to MyGolfSpouse to ensure she does not become SWMBO, or maybe that is part of her darker personna.  And I didn't say that 😇

1000007956.jpg.6590a30dae48ed8b007e6923ada85af6.jpgA placeholder photo of the uncovered GT-14 in my vehicle.  It's nice and maybe I don't need to show what the C130 bag looked like laying there.  (Tip for waterproof golf shoes in the last photo caption.)

Comparison to the bag this one might be replacing:  The Sun Mountain C130 is a similar size and what was necessary before loading my clubs was to remove the driver from the bag as it prevented the bag from being un-tall enough to fit in the side to side well of the back of my 2014 Chevrolet Equinox.  I did use the rain hood on the C130 as it sequesters the club heads keeping everything neatly in place to put the golf bag where it fits, it also hides what is in the golf bag adding to the security of the vehicle when unattended.

1000007971.jpg.ed4024fdc4df0dd5e5c6c32466dff9e5.jpgThe space where my golf bag lives is next to the push cart in the red rolling duffel bag, between that and the second row seat back.  The package cover cannot be used while a golf bag is in the vehicle as it exceeds the height limit of being under the package cover.

The GT-14 is prepared the same way for loading into the Equinox but one of the first tests when putting the bag into the vehicle was to leave the Callaway driver in the bag with the rain cover in place.  I was shocked kind of surprised that the GT-14 bag slipped easily and neatly into place without having to remove anything from the golf bag.

1000007972.jpg.4167bc520411cfbc8af48f595d159650.jpg
This is the fit complete with driver inside the black rain hood, and it is a top quality rain hood indeed!

To add to this pleasant surprise, I have always been "that guy" with my playing partners, breaking down my push cart and bag to load them while my partners have already finished and they're already enjoying the adult beverages for the 19th hole while I am putting bag and push cart into the vehicle.  That was C130 days.  GT-14 days I am as quick as my partners in stowing the gear and reaching for the can or bottle (no juice boxes with this crowd) and toasting another round enjoyed together with friends.

Best part is, I have always used beach towels as camouflage in the back of the vehicle even though the C130 bag was already camouflaged... yeah I know, not "urban camouflage," but the GT-14 hood is black with GHOST on the back of the hood above the carry strap so facing downward in the back of the vehicle with the bag laying on its back.  Totally camouflaged from top of the bag to club heads.  I imagine selecting a bag with darker colors than the white of the Oreo scheme would make the bag just about unobservable on the inside of the privacy glass of the vehicle windows.

1000007973.jpg.4005c0105ff59f78c16e94c96a1d36b1.jpg
Tip for waterproof shoes; place a fibrous wicking, like paper towel or fiber towel in each shoe to draw out the moisture and prevent whatever it is that makes them stink when starting a noxious community in those golf personnel carriers.

PXL_20241006_195545762.jpg.406414eb1039cd5cdd8a3a5530735f8d.jpg
There may or may not be golf equipment in this vehicle.

This is definitely a positive aspect of the Ghost Golf GT-14 Cart Bag, the ability to put the bag with driver into the vehicle and not have to add the driver leaving the vehicle and removing it on return, and the associated care and time it takes to move things around that takes attention away from playing partners and everything else going on around me when getting ready to golf and getting ready to leave, or share a 19th hole conversation.  Cheers! ⛳🍻

So I have the Vessel Lux Cart Bag and the Ghost Golf GT-14. They are both premium golf bags, but they cater to slightly different preferences and styles.

Performance:
The GT-14 leans heavily into durability, using high end materials to withstand tough conditions. The Vessel Lux, while durable, focuses more on premium aesthetics with weather-resistant synthetic leather, blending style and sturdiness. Both bags are highly functional, but the Vessel Lux seems luxury, while the Ghost Golf GT-14 prioritizes durable performance.

Aesthetics / Design:
The Vessel Lux Cart Bag has luxury appeal. It is a sleek, modern design with high-end materials like synthetic leather. Its minimalistic branding and clean lines make it a standout for golfers who prefer that look. In contrast, the Ghost Golf GT-14 has a bolder, more tactical design inspired by military aesthetics. Ghost has ribbons that mirror "Remove before flight" red ribbons on aircraft. This is a safety warning often seen on removable aircraft and spacecraft components, typically in the form of a red ribbon. The Ghost is sharp, has bolder detailing, appealing to golfers who enjoy the more rugged style.

Organization / Storage:
The Vessel Lux focuses on organized storage with a 14-way top divider and numerous pockets, including a magnetic rangefinder pocket and an insulated cooler pocket. Its design is both practical and elegant. The Ghost Golf GT-14 also features a 14-way divider system but with full-length dividers, ensuring maximum protection for your clubs. They both offer thoughtful storage solutions, including a magnetic rangefinder pocket and durable, waterproof pockets. The side pockets on the Vessel are bigger for those who want to store a ball retriever or additional gear.

Time for some follow-up.  I did check Mav and the zipper is there on the right side as you are looking at the mag pouch.IMG_8206.jpeg.bb9edffdaccdbfcd2c3bb81ed0da97b0.jpegIMG_8207.jpeg.abe9daccf68bc67a19da535bdf0bb229.jpeg

I unzipped it and had access to the inside and bottom of the bag.  The support post @EasyPutter mentioned is present with nothing attached (lower picture, lower bar).  The divider can be seen between the grips.

IMG_8209.jpeg.9e6f074d329286769f0c805162d7c7d0.jpeg

A view of the clubs shows a possibility of the grips contacting each other in that corner of the bag but I have yet to experience that.  Will find out more when I use a push cart Thursday.

You know what?! While I am here I think I will do a two-week review of the Ghost GT-14…da Mav!

Asthetics

This bag is nice.  Color combo is just right, emblem on each side may be large but it is muted on the Maverick.  I like how it looks.

Function

The 14-way divider has ample room for the clubs.  The full length dividers keep grips from entanglement when the bag is verticle. Clubs were easy in and easy out. The pockets have sufficient room for storage.  The main cooler pocket (without drain holes, air dries just fine) does its’ job as do the bottom of the two long pockets on each side.  The magnetic pouch stays in place without contorting. The strap stays on the shoulder IF you use the side with the labeling, the other side slips unless you position the bag just right. The bottom if the bag has very slight wear from Parking lots, cart paths and multiple trips to the concrete range.  This bag is Sturdy!

Maintainence

Still nothing on the Ghost website about maintaining this bag, at least I found nothing yet.  As for cleaning, warm and soapy (I used dawn) water with a bath towel did a bang-up job.  Cleaned up oil marks I had and dirt smudges.  Two thumbs up for that!!

Current thoughts

The materials that make up this bag are thicker than the Ping Pioneer I was using.  That gives me the impression that this bag will last much longer than the Ping.  It has this matte finish which makes the bag look soft, which it is, and easy on the eyes.  It weighs identical to the Ping when it was loaded even though the Mav has thicker material…how’d they do that?!?  The issue I mentioned when the bag was attached to the cart has not created any wear marks to this date, still watching that. Lastly, I do suggest getting the cart strap sleeve.  It keeps that hard, crusty thing off your nice new Fighter pilot so he can do his job for a long time without getting worn down!!!

Now, back to swinging the driver cuz I feel the need,  the need for SPEEEEED!

Today's focus is on the water resistant rating for the Ghost Golf GT-14 Oreo Cart Bag and the round started with a light shower that tapered off and the sun shon on the fairways. Justin @just52887 caught up on the 6th tee box adding to the significance of the test.

PXL_20241008_204708256.jpg.888945d3070103e42f6fc0d7e39d12ba.jpg
Justin sheltering while rain dropping off my umbrella makes the white streaks in the lower part of the above photo.

But it was a day of waves of weather and on the 7th tee box the rain returned with a more determined rainfall that by the 7th green was significant with hail bouncing on the bent grass.

PXL_20241008_204641346.jpg.28dabbea7ad91eae23204ae0d609b149.jpg
Umbrellas make great places to hang things like keeping a fleece jacket dry, a towel hanging there stays dry to wipe clubs before putting back in the bag, and club head covers to be dry and out of the rain while using the club.

The rest of the round it poured.  Heavy enough that Justin made for the parking lot early to get home at his appointed hour.  The downpour happened while I took photos by the 9th tee box and deployed the DrizzleStik umbrella to shelter the tops of the golf clubs as the Ghost Golf Towel had become waterlogged.

PXL_20241008_210123337.jpg.6f55cb59fce527597b6b6a7b617c168d.jpg

PXL_20241008_210153639.jpg.b048fbfbb97046223cd07a4598e6ad14.jpg

Still the driver sent the ball through the airborne ball washer and the second lay up to the near side of Caz Creek and 7i to the green approach, chip on and one putt and the round was complete.  To the parking lot and photos before loading the vehicle and heading home.

PXL_20241008_212732233.jpg.718835ac0bb49d8e74680fb719b230ac.jpg
The bag rain hood was added back at the vehicle preparing to put it back into the vehicle.  It did keep the clubs dry while these photos were taken with no DrizzleStik to provide a rain shadow and the bag is almost entirely out of the main umbrella rain shadow too.

It was perhaps a higher power appearance that put the end of a double rainbow on the Ghost Golf GT-14 Oreo Cart Bag today ☔🌈

PXL_20241008_212618145.jpg.a00fd633c0741e2cb5da7ee52e95e70a.jpg
Double rainbow reflected in the wet parking lot.  Good view of how exposed the golf bag is with the main umbrella sheltering golfer, electronics mount and push cart handle.

The sun was shining when I arrived home as if it was scripted to end this episode of The Adventures of Ghost Golf GT-14 Oreo Cart Bag.

PXL_20241008_215323870.jpg.c4117d86fb08f0b4a34df068d2024db2.jpg

PXL_20241008_215330861.jpg.66f57817f8cebc2edadd4d66aecb34a0.jpg

The pockets were inspected for the dry, damp or wet inside and all 3 states were found in this order:

Dry - large cargo side pockets and small side pockets, the ball pocket and the front cooler pocket.

PXL_20241008_215458432.PORTRAIT.jpg.f5851367055dd7acd08b1c34cac1f31e.jpg
Left side large pocket - Oreos for the Oreo bag, of course.  No soggy cookies here.

PXL_20241008_215517558.PORTRAIT.ORIGINAL.jpg.7fac19b750fee5214e16072c518efed4.jpg
Right side large pocket - both sides the clothing items inside were dry.

PXL_20241008_215610305.jpg.8ca9a35ffdf31eb9bee5565acc6b9229.jpg
Left side outer smaller pocket, where the dried cranberries snack bag was dry.

PXL_20241008_215540023.PORTRAIT.jpg.fbb17860e13e2f6115b82300edbd41ca.jpg
Right side smaller pocket, all dry inside.

PXL_20241008_215403594.jpg.c060b563757fb9a45d2e1791bef991f7.jpg
Ball pocket, the sleeve cardboard was still dry.

PXL_20241008_215426466.PORTRAIT.jpg.9251895b6efbda7285092d535ac44a06.jpg
Not beverages but the items inside including the range finder case was dry.

Damp - upper front magnetic closure pocket and the net pocket inside the front pocket cover was the most damp part of the pocket.

PXL_20241008_215348073.jpg.cdbaa0dc14e24f09baefdfcfdd8c9dc4.jpg
The upper front magnetic closure pocket was damp inside.

Wet - side valuables velour lined pockets and beverage container pockets.

PXL_20241008_215559413.PORTRAIT.jpg.129bcc1e3d955c19ce8d228951d298e6.jpg
Items in this pocket had to be laid out to dry and paper towel placed inside hanging out to wick out the moisture.

PXL_20241008_215616993.jpg.f1f04157dd018df98c36eef680267de7.jpg
The outside beverage bottle pockets were of course wet with no cover.

PXL_20241008_215548784.PORTRAIT.jpg.2bca25ae764043e6994863052436fd09.jpg
The right side valuables pocket was soaked though the wallet and keys in it were not wringing wet so perhaps the fabric kept them from being soaked?

Through it all the clubs were kept dry in the bag between the umbrella, the golf towel, and the golf bag DrizzleStik umbrella.  I'd considered the rain hood on the first fairway but quickly determined it keeps the clubs so well together that putting them back into the bag partitions was next to impossible with the club head covers in place protecting the graphite shafts from the ravages of adjacent metal club heads.

But it was a day of waves of weather and on the 7th tee box the rain returned with a more determined rainfall that by the 7th green was significant with hail bouncing on the bent grass.

PXL_20241008_204641346.jpg.28dabbea7ad91eae23204ae0d609b149.jpg

The rest of the round it poured.  Heavy enough that Justin made for the parking lot early to get home at his appointed hour.  The downpour happened while I took photos by the 9th tee box and deployed the DrizzleStik umbrella to shelter the tops of the golf clubs as the Ghost Golf Towel had become waterlogged.

Still the driver sent the ball through the airborne ball washer and the second lay up to the near side of Caz Creek and 7i to the green approach, chip on and one putt and the round was complete.  To the parking lot and photos before loading the vehicle and heading home.

Dry - large cargo side pockets and small side pockets, the ball pocket and the front cooler pocket.

PXL_20241008_215631344.jpg.3e51e2b67b17f45a6ef810955370fc34.jpg

Love the oreos in the Oreo! I have a clic hear rain hood for the entire bag. I went with the valor so I am curious to see if the white stains a little over time.

I questioned if the small outer pockets would stay dry with the zippers pointed up towards the sky.  If I read your passage correctly, they did get wet inside.  If that is the fact, my advice would be to place your valuables inside the mesh pouches inside the large side pockets.  Good observations.

Thanks for the plus up!  Yes I purposely put them there because of the intention of the pocket with the lining material and as was speculated with the upward facing pockets I wanted to make sure if they did leak to have something there that would leave no doubt it was wet.

100% they will go somewhere else when it is raining, but more than likely, I will default to carrying the spare raincoat I have always used as the bag cover, as the hood keeps the clubs dry with the DrizzleStik as a hat and the sleeves tucked into the push cart handle keeps everything in place even with strong gusty winds that threaten the big umbrella.  The raincoat is carried stowed in a stuff sack and hangs by the sack drawstring from the push cart handle out of sight and out of mind.

The side pockets staying dry was a big surprise and big and small pockets were bone dry inside as were the ball pocket and probably no surprise the beverage pockets above the ball pocket.

It's all lies I tell you, everywhere the golf ball comes to rest! ⛳
If it wasn't for inconsistency, I would have no consistency in my game! 🏌️‍♂️

I guess fashioning a bag cover isn’t a bad idea.  Maybe I will make one out if a large, plastic, construction grade garbage bag that can be easily stored away.

But, why should you have to make a bag cover on a $500 bag? This is the exact reason we test products! Great job guys!
