    Happy Anniversary, Pats fans! #NeverGiveUp

Super Bowl LI was an American football game played at NRG Stadium in Houston, Texas on February 5, 2017, to determine the champion of the National Football League (NFL) for the 2016 season. The American Football Conference (AFC) champion New England Patriots defeated the National Football Conference (NFC) champion Atlanta Falcons, 34–28. Super Bowl LI featured the largest comeback in Super Bowl history, with the Patriots overcoming a 28–3 deficit in the third quarter to emerge victorious.

And so it begins... the inevitable trek down the road of what once was. 😂

Raiders fans know every turn in this road.

... And Getsy rumored to be the next OC for the Raiders. 🙄  @silver & black at least the Raiders won't trade for Fields if this is true. And if the Raiders do ... hide your eyes. I am not a Fields fan and glad he will be gone BUT he is the most dynamic running QB in the NFL an Getsy made him stay in the pocket and not run. While I applaud him trying to improve Fields ability to read defenses and throw from the pocket as I think that is the only way to win consistently in the NFL, it doesn't mean abandoning the Fields running game completely.

It's not even worth the time to give a rat's a** anymore...lol. I'm just a fan. I watch the games and root for my team. I have no control over anything that goes on. It's been 30+ years since the Raiders were a consistently good team.  Gannon was the last good QB they had. Al lost it somewhwere in the 90's and perfected the ineptness until his death. Mark never had it... and never will.

I like Pierce as the HC. At least he brings some fire and attitude. Getsy might do well, and he might not. It won't matter if they don't find a solid QB... and Fields isn't the guy. I watched him for 3 years with the Buckeyes. He's a talented guy... a good kid.... but not a starting caliber NFL QB. I don't want him with the Raiders.... it seems unlikely now that Getsy is there.

One last thing. F*** Kingsbury. I didn't want him to begin with, and he has proven that he is as sleezy as it's been said he is. He did the same thing to USC. A blessing in disguise with him bailing... IMO.

The QB search should be interesting. They will end up with nothing unless they decide to sell the farm to move up and take one of the top 3.... if they do, I hope it's for Daniels.

The life of a Raiders fan is never dull... or particularly fulfilling. 😂

I hate the Commanders so much.

Of all the teams as a young boy I chose to support why did it have to be them? I could have been a Bills fan or something else with a fun fanbase and hope, even if it gets crushed. Now I've suffered through the worst owner in professional sports and just when you think it's coming around the corner, that we're getting a young exciting head coach to lead the team into a new era of something at least resembling competitive and fun football... surprise, it's ol' 28-3 himself Dan Quinn. My excitement for this franchise in 2024 and the future just got kicked square between the legs.

I hate you Commanders... so much

My neighbor feels exactly the same way you do. He's a die hard Redskins fan... yea, I said Redskins.

We commiserate with each other during the season. 🥲

  4. Well.... me and the dog sat down with a few pours of bourbon today (just before the NFL playoff games) and watched the golf channel between commercials for the game/s. We played good...lol. It was the lowest score I shot for the new year, seeing as how it rained the entire day. Yes... I might be the slightest bit 'tipsy' at the moment, but....... just a bit of levity since the hated Chiefs won the AFC and I won't be playing golf until March at the earliest. 😁

  5. I used to let bad shots and rounds piss me off. I was never a club thrower, or the guy that beat his club into the ground, but I did my share of swearing and generally making an ass of myself. I got tired of being out of control of my actions on the course. I had to take some time away from golf to re-evaluate why I played the game.... why I participated in something that pissed me off so much. After a couple of months away from the game, I came back to it with a different attitude. I'm not saying I still don't get a little aggravated at times, but I usually just chalk it up to 'I'm not a pro or near good enough to get mad' at something that I actually love to do.

When you think about it, any of us getting so angry over something that even the best in the game struggle with at times.... it's kind of humbling all on it's own.

I just let myself be 'angry' for a few seconds... then move on like nothing happened. It isn't like you can change it anyway...lol.

I'm inclined to use the few balls I find if they are better brands I like such as pro v, callaway, taylormade.  I usually collect used balls and give them to the local charity thrift store.  I think it's much better to get new balls to play better golf or more consistent golf.

Respectfully..... how do new balls make you play better and/or more consistently?

The way I see it, after you hit a brand new ball, it's used. If you are good enough to use the same ball for 18 holes... it's really used. I just don't see the advantage of paying 50+ $$$ for brand new balls if you are a mid HCer to mid single digit player. I am...  was an 8.6 HC player. I honestly can't tell the difference if the used ball is in 'decent' condition. YMMV.

All things are possible with the right ownership that’s willing to make tough decisions.

Yep. Mark effed up when he hired McDumbass instead of keeping Bisaccia. He has a chance to redeem himself with AP. We'll see if he has learned anything. I will say.... If Harbaugh was to get/take the job, I would not be the least upset.

... True, but my guess is he is speaking for the whole team. To be fair I think as a Raiders fan you would rather have Crosby selecting the next HC more than Mark Davis. 🤪

I'm hoping it will be AP, but Maxx is out  of line. There is nothing wrong with being vocal and stating your opinion... and you are correct, the whole team wants AP, but as a player (employee) you don't give ultimatums to the man that pays you.

  9. So.... it seems one Maxx Crosby has given an ultimatum.... hire AP or I will request a trade. To that I would say 'see ya Maxx'. No one player is bigger than the team. Players play, they don't dictate who the boss hires or not.

I love Mad Maxx, but he crossed the line on this.

... Very interesting. If someone thinks they can utilize his off the charts running ability and teach him how to play from the pocket and get rid of the ball in under 2.8 seconds and both pre read a defense and adjust post snap and teach him to go through progressions very quickly and throw open a WR ... I think we know someone will, he could be worth a first round pick. But nothing less than a 2nd round with some later rounds in following years. As I have said before, he seems like an outstanding young man and a hard worker so I wish him success wherever he ends up, just out of Chicago.

Don't worry... the Raiders can always be counted on to be 'that team'. 🙄

Ooooff and barf 🤮.  That was absolutely the worst ending to the 2023 college bowl season for me. But congratulations to both the Michigan and Washington fans on amazing seasons.  Now that I'm left with these two to pick from, I'll hold my nose and root for the Wolverines.

Being a Buckeye, I will never root for the Wolverines. 😉

One way of better example of connecting with the average fan might be right in front of their noses in the NFL.  Why not borrow from the NFL's Green Bay Packers model and have limited public offerings for average fans to buy into the PGA Tour.   As with the Packers, these share owners would have no voting power but could be given some golf perks along with saying they are part owners of the Tour.   The Packers last offering in 2021 had 198,000 shares sold at $300 each for around $60M.  I was one of those shares and I'm a Bills fan!   It's far cry from the billions being offered up by the other entities, but it's a step forward to bring professional golf closer to the masses and this money doesn't come with significant strings and controversial backgrounds.

The Packers aren't owned by an 'owner'. They are owned by the community. They are the only franchise to be 'owned' in that way, and the only franchise that will ever be allowed to operate in that way. I don't know the details of the hows and whys of it, but that may have something to do with the public offerings?

. At some point maybe they gotta just draw a thick red line and say it stops here…..

I think most of us would be happy with stopping things where they are. There is no bennefit to continuing with the 'taking away' of what has been played/used for the last 20 years or so. Most other sports/games continue to improve with new tech. Why does golf think it needs to go backward?
