  1. I'm also a big Borderlands fan. Have a Switch and Xbox One and don't play a ton anymore. Breath of the Wild was amazing though and picked up Immortals Fenyx Rising off a recommendation of it being similar and really enjoyed that one. I play the Lego games with my kids and we are waiting on the release of the new Star Wars Lego game. For family games we also do Mario Kart and Mario Party
  2. My course allows personal carts. Like the guys above mentioned we have a trail fee and must carry insurance.
  3. They fixed the first image of it, but forgot the 2nd smaller one down in the spec list.
  4. I've had cast clubs bent, at the time my guy said he could do it but wouldn't every go more than 2 degree's either way with cast clubs. Put it this way, Mizuno isn't making custom molds to cast your irons 2 degrees up. They are bending them after. I'm just guessing here, but the shop probably ordered direct from mizuno with your specs. They (like you) just assumed they came in correctly. They should have checked when they came in but honestly it's fairly common for custom orders from big OEM's to not be correct on spec. Some are better than others at it but I hear horror stories all the time. I'd call the place you got them from first. Just explain you finally had the lie angles checked and they are off, ask if they can do anything. Just be nice about it and understand it's been a year and they might not offer anything. Depending how that conversation goes just call around to some local builders and see if anyone is comfortable (and experienced) with bending them to the spec you want. Good luck!
  5. I think short term we will continue to see higher prices. Combination of inflation and supply shortage due to raw materials and shipping logistics. I've already seen Titleist is not doing the buy 3 dozen get 1 dozen free for balls this year. The boom of people playing more and used equipment prices will also continue for a bit. Lack of other things to do because of covid and increased discretionary spending because there was nothing else to do and nowhere to travel is still there, but as inflation continues to rise that will slowly go away. Long term I think we are in a bubble and it will burst. Much like the Peloton company golf is in a covid boom and eventually the ship will right itself. As people leave golf we will see an influx of used clubs on the market and those prices will come back down. If less demand the supply will catch up and hopefully we will see a return to normal (ish) pricing. I doubt things will every get cheaper, but hopefully will increase as a slower pace for stay stagnant for a while. Anyway that's my .02 Probably about what my opinion is worth.
  6. Generally highest $ amt will come from selling yourself on a site like mygolfspy or golfwrx in the classified sections, or on Facebook in the club traders group. Depending on what you are buying many sites will run promo's with 50% bonus value on trade-in with new club purchase. Check Globalgolf, Golf Galaxy/Dicks, PGA Superstore, Callawaygolfpreowned, 2ndSwing etc. Then there is always ebay but they take a 10% cut off the top of the sale (roughly I think, haven't sold on there in a long time). I usually take a look at trade in values from several sites, then also check sold listing prices on ebay to get an idea of the value range you can expect. I've most often found if you can find a site offering 50% bonus trade-in value on the new club you want to buy that's where you'll get the best value for the least amount of hassle. If selling yourself make sure to factor in the cost of shipping and paypal fee's to your net profit.
  7. Sent you a PM, I'll take it if it's still available
  8. The people at my club that have them really enjoy them. Get the benefits of walking without the hassle of carrying or pushing something around. Not really sure how much hassle they are though if you get a good one. I'd imagine it's kind of like buying a good tool. Spend the money and get something good and it hurts once when you buy it. Buy something cheap and low quality and it hurts every time you use it.
  9. Personally I'd be looking at the length, lie angles and swing weight before adjusting any loft. Doesn't matter what loft you have on a club if you hitting turf and not the ball.
  10. Yes check that chart, but 4 wraps is pretty close. I use PURE grips and it was just easier for swing weight purposes to stick with standard size grips and build them up vs going with midsize grips.
  11. I also regrip with air and use 4 wraps of blue painters tape the full length. That's the beauty of regripping with air though, put on some layers and try it out. If it's too big or too small just blow the grip off and add or remove layers until you get the feel you are looking for. To speed up the process take your irons, say 6i-9i and do 3, 4, 5 & 6 wraps under each. Then head to the range and see which feels best. Beats doing one, hitting balls, then going home and trying all over again.
  12. For quality and custom I go with Bestgrips. I've also picked up one or two from Stray because they are fairly inexpensive and have a lot of super hero themed stuff.
  13. It's a ball like any other tournament or scramble you play in where you get a sleeve or box of logo balls on check in. It's just an NXT Tour with a logo. Not worth anything other than being a used NXT Tour.
  14. I'll take any one of them. They are all better than me.
  15. My update on the Allied batteries. Used them for an entire season and am very pleased with the performance. I still have the 2 battery setup. I can get in 27 no problem. I think 36 would be pushing it, but I could always add a 3rd battery and get more range. For price, ease of install and zero issues I would have no problem recommending them. I have 2 other buddies that have since gotten them last season and 2 more that are switching this season. Here's the only 2 issues we have seen between the 3 carts that have them installed already. One of my buddies has a lifted and sped up EZGO RXV. He had to go with a 3 battery setup right away because his cart would cut out when going full speed (around 30mph) Adding the 3rd battery solved his problem. The last issue is going to be with any lithium setup vs lead acid. There is no "run down" period. With lead acid as the batteries get close to empty the cart will slow down and you can often limp home. With lithium batteries your cart will go full speed until it dies and then IT WILL NOT MOVE! We had one night we had to haul a generator out to the course and charge a cart long enough to get it home. (FWIW that's about 2 beers worth of time) So just a heads up to keep an eye on your battery meter if you make the switch.
  16. If you run in to issues just get a piece of plywood cut to the same dimensions as the mat. Then throw the plywood down first to create a flat surface for the mat to sit on. Haul them both in when not using them.
  17. The short answer is it can be done, but it's not as easy as you are hoping it will be. Here's the easiest way to get it done. Sell that putter and buy the slant neck version. Cost wise would probably be similar to paying someone to do a conversion. The easiest way I can think to do it would be to cut off the stub after you pull the shaft. Then drill a .370 hole at 90 degree's (straight up and down) and then buy a flow/slant neck from various places. I believe Golfworks sells them, also a company called Spryevo makes them, I've done one with him before. You could also contact Spryevo and see if he can make anything that would epoxy over the stub and give you a slant neck. Again though, unless you have some strong sentimental attachment to that putter your best bet will likely be to just sell it and buy a slant neck.
  18. It really depends who you ask, but I'd ask you a question back. How comfortable are you with 3/4 and 1/2 swings? If you really want to do it right then I'd get a monitor and figure out how far you hit your AW. Then think of the types of shots you want to hit with wedges and what distance you want those to go. Try out 54, 56, 58, & 60 and see what those differences are. in reality 1 degree probably isn't going to make that big of a difference, especially if you are comfortable taking some off the 50 to hit a distance you might not be able to reach with a 55. 4 degree gaps in the wedges is more traditional, but nothing says you can't have 5 degrees. I'd also ask what shot do you want to hit with a 60 that you think you couldn't hit with a 58?
  19. As a general guideline I'd say technology improves to the point that it "could" be visible in your game after your driver is in the 3-5 yr old range. Doesn't mean you have to upgrade by any means and obviously results may and will vary from person to person. I'd say a better question is how often you should be fit for a driver. I'd probably recommend the same time frame, but also with an addition of sooner if you have went through any big swing changes or body changes (working out, injury, swing speed training etc..) FWIW I got fit for a Taylormade SLDR when they were released on a trip to The Kingdom through MGS. Almost every year since then I've tried to kick it out of the bag with a new setup but inevitably I have always come back to the SLDR. I have noticed lately that I've found newer drivers to maybe be a little longer, but nothing I've tried has been able to deliver on consistent distance like my SLDR. The key is that it's very well fit to my swing. If you've been through a quality driver fitting and ended up with a well fit club then the distance gains from a new driver are going to be very minimal. I think Golfspy T once said everybody can get that magical 10-15yd bump with a new driver. But it's through being fit and we only get it once, everything after that is small incremental gains.
  20. I used to come only for the forum and only occasionally check out the blog. Over the past year it's really switched to a 50/50 split so thank you guys for creating meaningful content that's a joy to read and learn from. And thanks for popping in the forum, feels like it's been a while since anyone other than Barba has been in from the main page side of things
  21. I did, turned out OK and I used it for for a while. Found a leather supplier online and bought a bunch of cheap scraps in the color I wanted. Went to JoAnn and bought some fake lambswool type of material for the inside. Then got some circle magnets from Home Depot. I took the stock headcover from my putter (Odyssey 7) and rough guessed the size of the pattern to cut out. Cut out the top and bottom and then a strip about an inch wide to use as a side. Sewed them all together and cut the soft lambswool material to size and glued it to the insides of the material. I glued a magnet in between the leather and filling and then another between two pieces of leather on the flap. I also did one where I found a hockey glove that just fit over the putter I was using. Glued soft material inside and used that one for quite a while too. Here are the threads from back when I did them.
  22. Wife is making the turkey in the oven as usual, I'm also doing a Brisket in the smoker. Then the usual sides of stuffing, cranberries, corn casserole, mashed potatoes and gravy, cheesy potatoes, pumpkin cheesecake pie, pumpkin pie
  23. In my gut I still don't see Maxfli as a DTC brand. It just seems like one of those situations where you just know it when you see it, but have a hard time articulating the exact why. I really did appreciate Tony's reply on Twitter though, and from that stand point it starts to make more sense. So maybe from a strict definition of the company selling the ball is the company responsible for it being made and it's available primarily only through their channels then it could qualify as DTC. I just think while it may fit the definition, it's not in the spirit of what a DTC ball company started out to be. Now get off my lawn and turn down that music! (just kidding, come on over and let's golf/party)
  24. Would probably help to add a couple pictures. Is it on a seam? Or in the middle of the leather? Also real leather or a vinyl leather look alike?
