I just finished this project in time before we started getting some bad weather here and before things started to get shutdown. I still have a couple more things still to do before it reaches its final form but so far I’m really happy with how it has turned out. The putting surface is a 12’x4’ Birdie Ball Mat places on top of a 4” thick platform. Eventually I will be cutting holes in the platform to install full size cups and adding self leveling feet to the platform. The idea is to eventually be able to adjust the base to replicate different breaks so that I can get more practice using Aimpoint and be able to have a space to still teach students during the bad weather months.

Okay, I found the golf tourney info and there is possibly a conflict depending on the treks you want to play.  Bend isn't always wonderful weather wise in April .  I had a number of buddies who did this event last year and they said the weather wasn't very good.

2020 Central Oregon Shootout

April 23-26, 2020

The Central Oregon Shootout (COSO) began in 2003 and has grown to be “the” spring event in which to participate in Central Oregon. COSO treats participants to a round robin, 3 course weekend outing.
The courses again this year will be Black Butte Ranch, Eagle Crest, and Aspen Lakes. With a limit of 150 two-person teams and daily formats including Best Ball, Chapman and 2 Person Scramble, COSO maximizes player enjoyment and gives an excellent opportunity to be “in the money” with over $20,000 in payouts. Join us, won’t you? But don’t wait, if the last 16 years is any indication it will reach maximum capacity quickly!

Glad you mentioned this @pulledabill. So COSO is a really big event. So big that each of the 3 flights gets their own shotgun at 1 of the courses each day. At Eagle Crest we won't be opening up the Ridge Course until around 3pm (possibly later) each day for non tournament play. Not sure when or if Black Butte or Aspen Lakes plans on opening up their courses for play after the event each day. Also there is a decently high percentage of participants that are from out of the area, so lodging availability may be a bit more sparse then normal for Mid Spring in Central Oregon

Currently on light duty at work so no golf currently but 2 of those 3 days fall on my days off and I could get vacation day off for the other.  Better idea of  golf time frame in a week or two if not filled by then.  I can't find any tourney details online.  Got a link so I can take a peak at it?

All listed details should be available on the Oregon PGA Chapter's website under Pro-Ams. The quick summary is that each day will operate like its own individual tournament and the scoring format each day is going to be Net Stableford for both individual and team scores.

4. Hey Fellow Spies!

I'm looking to put together a team for the Pro-Ams this year at Bandon Dunes April 15th-17th and need 3 AMATEURS!

We will be playing Old Mac the 15th (Wednesday), Pacific Dunes the 16th (Thursday) and Bandon Trails the 17th (Friday)

Entry Fee is $150 for each day with a chance to get in on individual and team winnings each day.

Lodging is NOT included.

Respond and/or Message me if your interested in playing!

5. Spokane worked well as a center for the people that came.  Luckily it's not that far for me, and I would be willing to go again.
Depending on who wants to come, the "center" could change.  The question would be do we want a location that has other activities, or a dedicated golf location?  Spokane has many good courses and are reasonably priced.  A golf destination might have a couple of courses, and likely would be more expensive.
Maybe DPattGolf could work us a deal in Bend, OR?

If everyone wants to do something in Central Oregon I would certainly be glad to make some calls

The lake for the driving range is Hangman Valley which is where we are playing on Friday.

The Coeur d'Alene Resort course also has a driving range out into the lake.

Sorry, you couldn't make it.

I am sorry to have to miss this. Work will not quit this year.

I loved the old Spokane CC. Great layout.

MeadowWood still have that lake for a range? I remember standing on the 11th tee and trying to visualize a shot that lands on grass and all I could hear was balls splashing in the range to my immediate left.....

Have a great time fellas. I’m there in spirit.

MeadowWood also has a lake/water driving range.

Wish I could make it out but hopefully I can next year! Would love to have all of you out to Central Oregon

It’s been a while since I posted but it’s time to update what is in my bag for my first season of professional golf.

There are definitely some improvements that I’m looking forward to but overall I’m pretty happy with my bag so far. It helps that this setup has me -2 thru 54 holes of tournament golf (and $1,200 in winnings) since the driver, 3wood and wedges went in the bag on June 23rd.

8. Not sure if anyone else has heard this yet or not, but I have been told that the new 720 irons (or whatever Titleist decides to call them) is set to release this August (2019). If so, I would totally expect to start seeing the announcements right before either the Masters or the recently moved PGA Championship. Anyone else have more info??

9. Played my first round of 2019 (and first round in 3 months) yesterday and somehow shot 67 (-5). Hopefully I can score like this in my tournaments this year. Definitely happy to have my Cobra irons back in the bag and not the Hogan’s

10. Well I am back from my fitting at Club Champion and I need to be blunt - I don't know what Cobra did with my beloved F8+.
While the F8+ lacked some ballspeed, it was extremely consistent for me.  The same cannot be said about the F9 for me.  Cobra claims that the 9* F9 is the "+" version for this year, but I don't see it.  I hit about a dozen different shafts in the F9 today, and nothing could keep it from going left.  Weight was forward, but everything was left.  I hit 4 other brands and had no other issues with the lefts, but with the F9 it was a huge issue.  Ball speed great, but dispersion was consistently left.  Even when I tried to hold it off with a cut it would get a baby draw.
I know Cobra is saying the F9 is the plus head, but I just don't see it.

I literally just had the complete opposite experience. F9 was by far the best dispersion for me and was consistently near the middle of the range. Everything else I hit had a tendency to move harder left on me

11. So I just finished a fitting at Club Champion and the F9 performed very well. However it does look like that jump in Club head speed was more of an aberration.

My fitting finished with a suggestion of F9 in the 9* head (turned down to 8* or 7.5*) with the HZRDUS T1100
