Be interested to hear some feedback on this once you start using it. When I use an umbrella on my push cart it makes it hotter than not having it, because underneath the umbrella there's no breeze coming thru. It's like a friggin sauna. Probably doesn't help that my umbrella is black and white.
I really like your avatar! Tell your boss you got diarrhea -- everyone always understands!
I will provide feedback after I've hit it - but it is a driving iron and not an umbrella. If it performs off the tee like an umbrella everyone in this forum will be the first to know!

I'm at work. Just got a notification that the following was delivered to the house:
Maltby KE4 FDI #2 Driving Iron with Mitsubishi Tensei CK Blue shaft (regular flex) and LK Sonar Midsize grip.
I want to go home but I can't.

Titleist rolled out a new section of their site that provides dozens (hundreds?) of free videos with drills, insights, etc. across all aspects of the game. Seems like a great resource!
Thanks for bringing this to everyone's attention. It is most appreciated.

I only ride when playing with a larger group who ride or if it is required by the club. There is something about being connected to the earth throughout the round which energizes me.

I'm currently reading The Kingdom of Chivas Irons by Michael Murphy (sequel to Golf in The Kingdom) again. It addresses some of the more esoteric ideas associated with the game and the rabbit holes can go pretty deep.
Prior to this one, it was Raymond Floyd's The Elements of Scoring which encompasses many mechanics as well as mental prep.

I'm sorting this out right now. I procured a new driver and irons which are the first new clubs I've purchased in 10 years. I've hacked around for many years without a lesson and have recently committed to allotting more time for the game including lessons. I previously had a stronger grip but decided to start at neutral and with the club properly settled into the fingers of my left (lead) hand. This resulted in an extraordinary display of dispersion from the left OB to the right OB with a few in between. I was shocked at the impact just a few small grip adjustments could have on my shot making ability. I'm on the front end of this and back on the simulator this week to try and sort it out. Thanks for the helpful information.

I'm totally hooked on the team from No Laying Up - the Tourist Sauce productions have inspired me to plan a trip to Ireland. It looks like an incredibly beautiful and challenging golf environment. I also enjoy watching Malaska (more of an instructional site) just because he's so fed up with bad form that he can't help but express his chagrin with whomever he happens to be paired with on the show. Shiels/Robinson/Finch are good to go for the Brits and the award for strangest commentary goes to Golf Sidekick.

I listened to the show (great content by the way). I'm not buying Callaway's story. I think this experiment is going to surprise a lot of people and possibly draw attention to something which needs to be corrected The part about the "pro" sample was particularly interesting.

8 fairways
2 GIR
38 putts with 5 three putts.
It was a nice day to be out even though scoring wasn't good and the putter was ice cold. The driver was treating me pretty well on the front, with 5 of my eight fairways hit, and I didn't lose a ball. Then the back nine happened. Tee shot on 10 I aimed way right and pulled one into some trees. Next hole I hit a pull hook into a creek.
I hit two great drives 250 and 242, but also hit a couple that went straight up, one went 99 yards and I hit a few in the 140-170 range. The wind was also a factor, as it seemed like a lot of driving holes were into the wind. My longest drive was on 18 and I hit a good second shot leaving me 40 yards out on the par 5 and I then topped the pitch shot, got the next one on and three putted.
I'm not going to complain, it's the fourth round of the year and I am not expecting to be sharp. The driving range being out of commission is hurting, but that means I just have to practice on the course.

Where did you get to play? Valley Brook opens this Friday and I'm chomping at the bit! Great play-by-play on how your shaking off the dust of confinement. I'll be wrapping up this 6-nights/week schedule on May 11th and we'll get together.

I thought I would upgrade my push cart for when things open up again, and lo and behold, discovered that most everyone else in the country had the same idea before me (shocker). I did find the one I wanted - the Sun Mountain Speedcart GX- from Maple Hill Golf and it arrived yesterday. It only took two hours (no exaggeration) of online research to find one but I felt like I was the correct caller during a radio station giveaway. It is an excellent cart, by the way, for those who enjoy walking and having all your necessities at hand. Now I'm waiting for the mayor to sound the re-opening bell for my club!

I picked up the Cobra F9 directly from the factory (online order) for $249. By placing a custom order, I was able to select the shaft, length, grips (you get the picture) for the same price. The research I've seen suggested the newer model had very little improvement over the F9. I am extremely impressed with the performance and the price point is hard to beat.

Thank you for your service! I regularly, before COVID-19, play with a 76-year old USMC fighter pilot. He's about a 6 'cap.
Work for TVA? Sequoyah? Never made it down there, but spent a lot of time in Oak Ridge.
Sorry for the 2X reply. I just figured out how to use the quote feature.I do work with Sequoyah and have a few acquaintances at the lab. Never got to fly the equipment but flew on a bunch of them to figure out how to fix problems. Loved the pilots - they would supply us with beer on the weekends for keeping them safe in the air!

Just been talking to another recruit about this in a different area of the forum.

Looks like a good net with great reviews but would require some DIY.

Everyone has listed so many legends! I fear I would spend all my time watching instead of playing (no worries since I wouldn't be able to keep up). I honestly think it would be a hoot to play with the guys from "No Laying Up". I've kept up with the content they post on YouTube - especially the Tourist Sauce golf trips - and think I would fit in quite well with these characters.

I've been watching the actions/responses here in Tennessee and believe a lot of what is happening concerning decisions on what and how to close or limit facilities is due to the speed at which this virus is spreading and the lack of experience in dealing with a situation like this one. Our local officials are solid guys who have provided good leadership for years and are now trying to deal with something which they've never before had to confront. My club closed today, and while I feel it could have probably been managed differently, I plan to comply with the decision to demonstrate my support for the leaders in my community during a most difficult time. I understand and share your confusion and it appears that many who are having to make these tough decisions share it as well.

Perusing the contents of the bag made me ponder your experience. I tend to find that more variety usually implies someone who has taken a significant amount of time discovering his or her preferences. The WS irons have a great profile. Thanks for sharing.

Caught your post earlier on the Scotty Cameron giveaway and after looking at the bag was curious about which putter you're using now. Do I see it hiding in a Captain America cover?
-
Horrified by the clubs story - mine are like a pet to me. What is the most significant thing you did to improve your control? I'm working towards the same thing right now.
How'd you play?

We had a fantastic time with "The Chunkster." I still stand by what I said about getting you a better "Zen Golf" nickname - something like Sir BirdieMaster or Sir OnePutter - you get the picture. I was impressed with your skills around the greens and with pushcart tire repair! We'll do it again in July at my place when the new greens are ready for play. You were an excellent host and it's always nice to make new friends who love and appreciate the game. See you soon!
