I do this more with putting to relax my grip, but could work on any shot.  After I set myself before I start the swing I relax my hands almost letting go of the clubs.  Then reapply grip pressure and swing.
Another option to try is maybe moving up to a midsize grip and see if the larger grip allows your hands to relax a little bit.  You could just try one club and see how it feels at first.

    Hey all,
Just looking to see if any of you might have some advice....
I think I am gripping too tight on my clubs (insert jokes here lol), but I seem to have a bit of difficulty in finding a balance. The definite tendency is to choke the life out of the club... But when I actively try to adjust, it feels a little too loose and like I have zero control. Struggling to find the happy medium!
Does anyone have any tips or tricks to balance grip strength, or is it just a bunch of trial and error? Thanks!

Not paying enough attention to the ball slightly on a hill going up or down. The obvious ones where the ball is way above or below my feet I make the adjustments, but the ones where it is even with my feet and I am on a slight down slop on a hill, I need to pay more attention and not thin it (downhill). It is the slight adjustments that I need to work on more. I need to focus on more aspects of my where my ball is and not just the type of rough I am in.

I'd have to agree with Tat2Golf on this. Once I was able to leave the "driver" idea behind and look at the course in a logical mind my score dropped. I still have situations like Tat2Golf where the guys I'm playing with are heading to the tee with drivers and I have a 5 iron. After all the drives I'm the only one in the middle of the fairway while everyone else is in trouble. And one of them usually says "I hate it when some guy plays smart"
At this point in my life I'll look at the yardage of the hole (on 4's and 5's) and get a plan based on getting to the 100 yard mark for my approach shot onto the green. This usually equates to many 4 woods off the tee.

One of many of mine was lack of course management.  I bought into blasting driver on every hole with the exception of par 3s.  Once I started looking for trouble areas, playing to best yardages, etc...scores got lower.  I don't worry about my buddies giving me a good ribbing for hitting 5 iron while they blast driver.  While they are dropping a ball or punching out from behind a tree, it most situations I have the last laugh hitting a nice approach shot from the fairway.  Then we all 3 putt, because of yet another personal mistake.  No putting practice.
Of course I have had the opposite happen when they drive the green and make eagle.....

There is an RBC commercial that includes the line, "Dustin Johnson sees an aggressive pin."  This is just my experience, but I've never had a pin even give me a harsh look, much less act aggressively.

Good reason to keep alignment rods in my bag, which I should be doing anyway.

im getting better and i’ve finally identified a ball that works best for me (Bridgestone Tour B X) but i still lose enough balls to make the premium price tag tough to swallow
has anyone used lostgolfballs.com? i can grab a dozen B X for $23.99 in “mint” condition.
if you’ve ordered from them, feel free to share your experiences, good or bad.

The screw doesn't click the wrench does. Over tightening could damage head or tip.

Does anyone have a good method for testing your golf balls prior to using them?

I have seen some things on people floating balls and spinning them. Thoughts on an easy way to make sure the ball you are using is legit.

    My WITB Setup
    Driver: TaylorMade SIM Max 9.5
    Woods: TaylorMade Rbz Stage2 15° 3W(Next Upgrade)
Iron Set: TaylorMade Aeroburner HL 4-PW, AW, SW
Wedges: Cleveland RTX Zipcore 52° & Cleveland RTX3 CB 60°
    Putter: TaylorMade Spider X Hydroblast

Planning on upgrading my 3W after spacing out my wedges with Cleveland RTX Zipcore 48° & 56°. No need for 5W or 3H since the one I had was same loft as 4 iron. I'm one of those people that hits irons much better than woods and hybrids. My wedges will be lofted at degrees of 43.5, 48, 52, 56, & 60 after i replace Aeroburner HL AW & SW.

Thanks for stopping by to see what's in my bag!!

I did the same thing, dropped my 50 degree Vokey for the AW to match my set. So much more consistent on approach shots.

I added a Mavrik Pro AW to replace my 50* Vokey SM6. The AW matches my irons set so I get more consistency and a few more yards. Its been one of my best decisions this season, shot my 2 lowest rounds recently, dropped my handicap by about 4!
