dang3rtown
Is there any noticeable difference besides markings? Are they more or less expensive? Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy Typically more expensive, in some cases, much more expensive. As far as what is offered; the JDM is very different than the ADM. Golfers there have different wants so they get different offerings. Golf is a big part of status and business in Japan (even more so than in the US) and combined with other elements of Japanese culture, you get some really great pieces that would never be mass marketed in the states. Look at the OP's bottom picture for instance, forged Vokey wedges. Those things probably cost $250 a pop. In addition to stuff like that, they tend to have many more forged offerings, more non-conforming equipment and some stuff that is just different than what is offered here. Finally, there is an artisanal aspect to the really high end stuff that you see less often over here. The old trope of , "samurai" forged blades is not without substance. Many of the villages that once forged fine samurai swords carry the tradition on in forged golf clubs. MGS has a terrific series called, "Know your Japanese Brands" right now. Check em' out! dadivots
VERY NICE! Some of those JDM's have better paint jobs than a fully restored 68 Camaro. Could tell some stories about the Japanese that used to pass through the Desert. But will say a guy who caddied of ther told me its all about "saving face", so when your buddy shows up with the new $2500+ set of Miura's or Honma's you better get on it. Wild stuff! BIG STU
On the JDM stuff look on the bay they really have some colorful golf bags from over there but they are pricey. Look on Homna's website they really have some colorful Staff bags. A lot of their quality comes from the grade of metals they use to begin with and the process they use to forge them. A lot of the companies do not mass produce compared to the likes of TM etc and they take pride in their work. Really great stuff but you will pay the price for it. I am lucky one of my golf buddies is the local Miura dealer so I get to hit some of his stuff Driver ---- Callaway Big Bertha Alpha Speeder 565 R flex- 5W TM V-Steel Fubuki 60r--- 7W TM V-Steel UST Pro Force Gold 65R----- 9 W TM V Steel TM MAS stiff---- Irons 2015 TM TP CB Steel Fiber 95 R--- GW Callaway Mack Daddy 2 52* shaft unknown junk pile refugee.
