norky1971
Does the "Candy" on the face effect the feel of the putter? I noticed some faces did not have it? I wondered if it was for this reason? If this is the case can you have a totally different finish on the face like a black Ox?
PutterLounge.com
Yes, the putter feel is altered with the finish on the face, best I can explain it is a dampened feel as it is a bit softer. The milling marks are less dramatic also. Before putting the finish on the face of the putter we call our client and ask if they intend to play in any USGA sanctioned events as the finish has not been approved by the USGA to be in the striking area. Hope this helps! http://www.putterlounge.com - Website[email protected]1.800.407.5507What is in my bag Putter(s)Carbon Ringo - 1/4 Long NeckIronsTitleist 660 Forged - Matte Black OxideKBS Tour XIOMIC STICKY 2.3 Red / BlackMizuno MP-32 Asian Model - Satin ChromeKBS Tour XIOMIC X-EVOLUTION Navy / Sky BlueWedgesVokey SM5 58 / 54 /50 - Obsidian FinishWoods RBZ Tour 3 WoodAldila RIP Gamma TaylorMade SLDRAccra Tour Z M4 70 Gram

PutterLounge.com
Yes - The Yes series is a great example of how you can do the entire putter outside of the insert and it would not alter the feel and still be a USGA approved putter. Yes is a popular putter in white because of this and the level of precision around the groove area makes it a great candidate for candy white. http://www.putterlounge.com - Website[email protected]1.800.407.5507What is in my bag Putter(s)Carbon Ringo - 1/4 Long NeckIronsTitleist 660 Forged - Matte Black OxideKBS Tour XIOMIC STICKY 2.3 Red / BlackMizuno MP-32 Asian Model - Satin ChromeKBS Tour XIOMIC X-EVOLUTION Navy / Sky BlueWedgesVokey SM5 58 / 54 /50 - Obsidian FinishWoods RBZ Tour 3 WoodAldila RIP Gamma TaylorMade SLDRAccra Tour Z M4 70 Gram

Yes is a popular putter in white because of this and the level of precision around the groove area makes it a great candidate for candy white. i was wondering.....when you do a YES! putter, do you remove the insert, and then reinstall it after the coating, or do you just go around it ??? the reason i ask is because im concerned that maybe it will not last as long if it is removed.....or maybe it will feel different having been removed. thoughts ??? RookieBlue7
Is this a polymer finish or is it a simple powdercoat finish? I've putter with a polymered putter of LaMont's and the feel on his are not altered one bit, and you don't lose mill marks with his. If the mill marks are lost and the feel are altered, it leads me to believe that it's a powdercoat instead of polymer, as the finished product is thicker, thus why you'd lose the mill marks and feel. Just a question. They look great, and I've powdercoated my own putters as well, bought the gun online and did it at home using the gun and a conventional oven. That's why I ask. Either method is very durable from my experiences. RookieBlue7
Ask LaMont, I only do my own powdercoating. I know powder coating is one type of a polymer finish, but the powdercoat goes on much thicker. LaMont might use the same method for doing polymer finishes, I don't know, I've never been to his shop.
