SPY VIP GolfSpy_X Posted March 2, 2010 SPY VIP Share Posted March 2, 2010 AKA: Putter Day Spas A couple weeks ago you might remember us talking about the now famous $15,000 putter from Bruce Sizemore...who used to be with Sizemore Putters. In case you did not hear, Bruce has actually just recently resigned from Sizemore. But...don't worry he will be back making putters soon...and you will be glad after you see what the man can do to a putter. These 13 pictures will make you want to run home from work right now and pull out every old putter you have laying around...just to see what it could look like in either copper, gold or even that iron ore finish he has. But while Bruce is working on his next project...check out some of the other places (aka: Putter Day Spas) you can give your putter a special treatment. Matt Saternus
While I'm a big fan of copper in all things, I'll say purple haze because it's a little different than what you normally see. I like the "texture" of the chocolate bar finish also. Follow me on Twitter: @MattSaternus

jamo
I'm a fan of the gunmetal finish, as long as the golf one is unaffordable, that is.
NGage
I like any of the dark finishes that won't flake, peel, chip, or need maintenance other than keeping a head cover on the putter.

SPY VIP GolfSpy Dave Posted March 3, 2010 SPY VIP Share Posted March 3, 2010 Antique Copper or Copper plate. Gunmetal is sweet too. I was very close to buying the gold sizemore in our shop. Color was too much for me, but man could it roll balls. Volvo Intorqueo All the cool kids follow me on twitter: @GolfspyDave If you are not a cool kid, following me on twitter will make you cool... NGage
I kinda like the looks of the iron ore finish -- again, as long as it's care free.

mcbush25
I am naturally a fan of the Blackjack finish, but the one that catches my eye is the chocolate bar. I have a Slighter Portland in a similar finish to the chocolate bar...Tom calls his the Seattle Mud finish. The only thing is you have to oil it down after every round which can be tedious, but the look is amazing and there is zero glare from it.

SPY VIP GolfSpy Dave Posted March 11, 2010 SPY VIP Share Posted March 11, 2010 Yeah, good point. I'm really not up on my putter finishes. Which of these would fall into that category? Anybody know? Metal type finishes like copper, are usually the most maintenance free. Black and oily traditionally have required more care, wiping down, silicone spray. However, different finish methods are coming around daily. Probably only Bruce would be able to answer you completely.
