How do you not know the price before setting a tee time??!?

Can't recall ever making a phone call like this nor did I ever receive one when I worked in the pro shop last year. If I call a course for a tee time, I typically have a pretty specific time frame in mind and know (or at least have a good idea of) price.

If there are really people out there making these types of phone calls, please seek counseling.
