Thursday Round 1 was crazy windy! Had to go to 16 to actually warm up in the sun. Our official post was 3rd deck looking at 17th green. Yesterday wind was even worse! The amount of shenanigans there is insane. Unfortunately (or fortunately) missed the streaker.

17 might be the most underrated hole in golf. It's so risk reward IMO and will make or break your round. I'd love to play it and say I hooked the ball into the water or hit the green and the ball kept rolling and through into the water on the backside.  It's a great hole to watch golf if a person is at the tourney.

I spent 10 years as the tournament photographer, and the amount of shenanigan photos is my retirement plan. The 'streaker' 'swimmer' thing seems to become a yearly thing now, kinda dumb but suits the crow.

It is my opinion only. He has all the ability of any golfer that has ever played, he is talked about like he is all that and bag chips and always falls off the page. I know he has had injuries to deal with but I just feel he can't handle the pressure. I like the guy just feel he is overrated.

Quoted from WIKI:

Day has won 12 times on the PGA Tour since debuting in 2008 - highlighted by the 2015 PGA Championship, his sole major victory - but he hasn't lifted a trophy since winning the Wells Fargo Championship in 2018. Here is a partial list of his wins

2010 1 PGA tour wins. Byron Nelson Championship.

2014 1 PGA tour wins. World Golf Championships-Accenture Match Play Championship.

2015 1 PGA tour wins. Farmers Insurance Ope.

2016 3 PGA tour wins. Arnold Palmer Invitational. World Golf Championships-Dell Match Play. ...

2018 2 PGA tour wins. Farmers Insurance Open.

I can one up this:

Tony Finau is also overrated.

Totally amazing and fun, most years haha, the years it rained or had other weather was fun as a photographer even though the tournament would never use those photos, had to advertise warmth and sun!

I totally disagree with either of those golfers being overrated, of all the golfers in all the world, they both have reached the top of the pyramid. I could go on and on but to summarize, if you qualify for the pga tour, win, win a major and make it to number 1 in the world, not overrated at all.... In Tony's case he has found his stride and I see him being a top 10 player "in the world" for a few years going forward...

That's fine, we are both able to have our own opinion.  For me, I wouldn't and haven't put either of those on any betting line or team I have been apart of.

As I said just my opinion. Nothing personal against either guy and they for sure are better golfers the the general golfing public. There is a long list of PGA pro's I would pick before I get to those two guys.

I wish healthy long career's I just don't see either wining much. Again my opinion only.

Making me think we should have a hot takes PGA tour thread!

Regardless of whether I agree or not it's interesting to hear various takes and how players are viewed from others.

I have my favorites and guys I like and guys I don't love in large part due to how they have performed for me in fantasy seasons.

it's that I don't like watching them play the game, I just know the wheels are going to come off and cost themselves a win.

Going to push back on Finau... he tore it up at the end of last year.

I do agree with Day. I think he had his... day... and like all former greats will show flashes, but there is a more talented younger group now on the tour that will play more consistent.

I would not be surprised if Day didn't win another event, nor would I be surprised if he got hot for a weekend and did pull out a win. However I am with you in believing his days of being relevant consistently are likely over. Probably more due to the new talent that is there (Homa, Morikawa, Hovland, Zalatoris, Burns, Scheffler, Xander and on and on and on)

On the flip side in Fantasy I had 5 of 5 make the cut and 9 of 10 in my lineup make the cut. Unfortunately my WD alternate was the MC on my team so lets hope everyone plays out the weekend!

Spieth playing well always gives me hope that my game can come back someday too (certainly not to his level... but in adjusted to my range of ability) 🙂

You can tell he is feeling good inside his swing right now.
