Rygolf32
So I was today years old when I found out about this...generally I either shop at a golf specialty store in the midwest (Austads) or buy my stuff online. It's summer here in Nebraska and being it's always hot and humid, I go through golf gloves fairly quickly rotating a couple every round to try and keep them dry. Last round over the weekend, had a hole pop in one so needed a replacement and Dicks is the closest sporting goods store to my house. Got my usual Callaway Tour Authentic and went up to pay at the register. The lady asked if I wanted a protection plan for it, I laughed thinking she was joking. She said seriously, it was a thing. After discussing, anytime within the first 3 months that a glove rips, bring it back into store with the receipt for a free replacement. Months 4-12, you file a claim on the website and they send you a gift card for the value of the glove. For the extra $3.90 and knowing I'll easily need a new one within the next 3 months, I am giving it a go! I didn't know this was a thing but assuming it works like she said, not a bad deal! Anyone else have experience with this? vandyland
Please report back on this AND make sure you get dozens of range sessions in the next few weeks. This could be quite the glove hack. Also, while we are talking about returns, footjoy also has amazing return policies on their shoes. I ripped a hole in my shoes 11 months after I bought them and they replaced them for free with the current year model. dmanref and Rygolf32 2 Quote STZ 230 9.5* / Pro Fli-Hi 21* MALTBY TS1-IM 5-GW Equalizer II 54* / Carnoustie 60* L.A.B. appletonjim
I have done this at Golf Galaxy. Have replaced a couple. I like Titleist players gloves. I paid a little more that first time. From then on I pay $4 when I get the replacements to keep it going. I am not sure how long they'll keep doing this but it's been great so far. Zman56
Thanks for the tip, however I buy Zero Friction Golf gloves and they last forever. I still have mine from last summer and have played 75-80 rounds. Great gloves. I loved the other comments as well, I see someone was able to replace Footjoy shoes. Now, if I could find someone to insure my lost golf balls, I would definitely pay extra! Hopefully this is the same...seems like a great deal on $25ish gloves when they typically don't last even 3 months with playing a lot and range time! Jonesie
I can report that I have had success with this as well. Admittedly, I thought for sure last year when I paid for the plan, it might not work out. But, I kept my receipts and in the 11th month took a pair in as evidence and they just let me walk out of the store with the identical new replacements. no questions asked. It was a good deal! vandyland, Dweed and Rygolf32 3 Quote Titleist Tsi3/Ts2 woods and hybrids Titlesit AP3 irons Clevland CBX wedges Taylormade mallet or Odyssey White Hot center shaft putter. Rodzilla
Last Year I too bought the "insurance" and when I went back to get a new glove due to wearing out the glove I got NOTHING but static. I was specifically told that I simply had to bring the glove back and they would replace it. I even told the salesman that was nuts as I go thru 4 gloves a year. He told me that was fine. When I took my first worn out glove back that they told me that I had to send it back to the manufacturer to get a new glove. After a bit of non confrontational discussion and my concern for the line forming behind me I simple said "Phooey I was lied to" and left the glove on the counter and walked out. I was not happy about this and did not express anger but made the decision I will never spend a dime with Golf Galaxy or Dicks Sporting goods again. I have spent $1000's (perhaps $10K) of dollars with them over the years. I left negative feedback on Dick's website about my experience and it was removed. The feedback was simple truth. It Was a Titleist Players Glove, I NOW only use PXG Gloves, the finest gloves I have ever owned. All my buddies have heard the story. BreakfastBall15
I recently went through the whole swap out process and it was easy. Bring the old glove and the receipt with you to the register as well as the new glove. I tried to get the insurance on the new one and was told they only do it on initial purchase. Essentially buy one get one for $4 but still a heck of a deal Rygolf32 1 Quote Driver: PXG Black Ops, Ventus Blue 6X Fairways: PXG 0311 XF Gen 5 3 and 5 wood, Project X Riptide CB 6.0 Hybrid: PXG 0311 XF Gen 5 22 degree, Project X Riptide 6.0 Irons: PXG 0311P Gen 5 5-PW, Project X LS 6.5 Wedges: PXG SG2 50, 56(55), Modus 125 Wedge; PXG SG 2 60, KBS 130 Wedge Putter: TaylorMade Spider GT Red SB Ball: Maxfli Tour S MGS Star Grip Review: https://forum.mygolfspy.com/topic/63328-star-grips-2024-forum-review/
Shankdog
I’ve done this numerous times over the past 3-4 years. I’ve done both exchanges in the store and filing a claim thru the “insurance” website for the gift card for the purchase amount. It’s a great deal if you know the correct steps and not let the time limit expire. I always make sure to keep the receipt for the purchase together with the original packaging in a cupboard so as not to lose it to make the whole process easier. USMCTex
It is insurance. Send the receipt to the company. When the glove (for me Titleist) wears out they will send you a mailing lable. Send in the glove (Shipping is paid for by the company) and they email you a coupon worth the amount you paid for the glove ($26.99 for me)! I go into Dicks, pick out a new glove, and pay $4.00 for the warrant and repeat!
