Have a P2 grip, not too dissimilar shape from yours, with the same thing. After time can happen to most any oversize grip with hard edges... Plus a guy on my league team swears by them (and he's more of a club ho than I am). Have not seen any issues like that with any of ours - how long have you been using it? You should probably just get in touch with them directly - if that happened quickly, I'd hope they just replace it.
