Titleist Sale!! And questions

What’s up guys, hope everyone is well. Just doing some late night shopping and saw the Titleist T-series irons (and TSR woods) are on sale. I have yet to hit the irons, and I was recently fitted for TaylorMade P790, and I enjoyed hitting those. Anyone hit both and could give some good comps to which Titleist Irons match the P790s?

Also because they’re on sale, that obviously means the new iron set will be releasing soon, anyone have any ideas on when that might be (maybe from past years)? I’m upgrading irons soon and would love to save some money if I go get fit and hit them well. When Ping i525 went on sale, it was still many months before the new i530s were released. I assume Titleist may function a little differently, maybe quicker to release 2024 irons since it’s already May.

Check out the T-series thread.  People loved them all the way from t100 to t350. Great reviews and about 30+ pages.

I would be very surprised to see a new iteration of the T Series irons released this year as they just released the current model last year and typically follow a two year release cycle. We won’t see another update to the T Series until sometime in 2025, fwiw they are still listed at $200/iron.

In looking at the website, the TSr line is on sale, which lines up with the upcoming driver release later this year. 

If you like the P790 and don’t wait to wait until later into next season, I’d go that route. Otherwise the T200 is probably most similar, and was very well liked by our testers last year as @Josh Parker mentioned

Like @golfspy_kft mentioned the t200 would be the closest comparison to the p790’s I think. 
 

I would say have an idea of the prices and clubs you think you may like and then go get fit. A couple years ago I thought I was dead set on titleist irons or the p790’s. I ended up walking out and loving the Mizuno hot metal pros. They are generally in the same ball park so if you are going to buy new ones I wouldn’t skimp on paying an extra 100 or 200$ when they cost 1000$. Get the ones that will fit you the best. 
 

I have used titleist irons on vacations and they are ones I have always liked. I didn’t think the p790’s had much forgiveness or the miss hits just feel awful and go much shorter than other irons I have miss hit.

Same here! I am somewhat of a fanboy after getting fit for my TSi3 in fall of 2021. Didn't feel the need to move to TSr, but I know some that went from TS to TSr saw big improvements in ball speed and forgiveness. Has me thinking that this year could be a potential leap of improvement for me following a similar timeline. Time will tell, but I have a feeling we may start seeing heads pop up before too long on tour!

I’m playing a Sim 2 Max and hit it decent most of the time, have not been overly impressed or seen improvements with the other releases this year, maybe Titleist will be the one???

To be fair, the Sim 2 line was the best release Taylormade has had in multiple years IMO for drivers. Haven't hit the Qi10 much and I know our testers saw good things, but those drivers were really darn good.

Agree, I saw a tremendous jump in accuracy and distance when I put it in my bag (it replaced a Ping G)…it’s a tough task to get this out of my bag at this point.  But, a new driver is always nice…

Thank you! I went back and looked at PGA TSS and Golf Galaxy, where I originally saw the sale and realized they are the 2021 model irons, not the 2023. I must not have realized that when I looked at 1 AM. Thanks for the reply!

I'm surprise they don't have sales for the 23' T-200 and T-350's the way they have been having back plate issues. I never knew they had flaking and backplates coming off on their 21' models as I just heard about this and Titleist had supposedly fixed the issue back then, why is this still an issue today with the way prices keep going up as what is going on with quality control?

Just went through a Titleist Club fitting for their driver & 3 wood. The driver is now discounted about $150 & 3w $50 for the 2023 model.  Apparently, in June, the new Titleist Models will be released.

They have been discounted for the last couple weeks. Good opportunity to scoop up solid gear before the new line drops.

Not sure where you are seeing the 2023 t series irons for sale, but there won’t be any new releases of those. Theres always a possibility they do a black line mid release cycle.

There are no bad clubs just bad fits or clubs that don’t match someone’s preference.

Titleist is on a two year cycle, they don’t do any early releases. They add to their lineup lie when the added the tsi1, or release a black t100. Ping is also on two year cycles so their sales fall in line with the new release cycle as they try to unload inventory

It's the 2021 T Series.  They have them down to $900 or right around that price point.

Titleist has started tour seeding and the media release at the US Open since the TS line in 2018, but the actual retail release has been September and I wouldn’t expect that to change with this cycle.
