So far I’ve done 2 sessions comparing my 4 hybrid and the Pro V2 7 wood. Here’s what the data has to say: 1st session (outdoors into net) 2nd Session (garage into net) Total (so far) This weekend I’m going to try to get out to the range and hit some balls with the launch monitor to see what those numbers look like. I’m also going to play around with the weights in the club to see if that impacts the data. Love the stats! I'm going to try and make mine more presentable next time. I don’t know if that can be attributed to the club or just my natural shot shape as a former baseball player. I don’t feel like the fade (slice) is any worse while using the club. If I can get out to the range this weekend, I’m going to try to get some visual data for shot groupings using the launch monitor. I’ve also thought about finding a full simulator nearby to try to get more ball flight data. Is this what everyone is experiencing? If there a bias to any direction in anyone's testing? I'm seeing the same. I have a natural fade bias but when I go after it, it really shows. Ive noticed my ball position plays a larger factor in the fade. When I'm able to focus my swing inside out I get a fairly straight flight. I'm just not able to repeat that very consistently yet. I've been intrigued by the brand and am about an hour away from their physical location and been kicking around the idea of driving down there for a fitting. I did some research before I made my selection of the blue smoke in 70g. I like to think I have a moderate swing tempo, though I'm starting to get a faster tempo, and the blue smoke was the only one suggested for moderate. I chose the 70g due to suggestions of having your woods shafts slightly heavier than your driver and mine is 60-65g. I didn't chat with anyone from Sub70 though. I'd definitely go check out their place if I was only an hour away. Popular Post Cannon Safe
Got to play 9 at the home course. I'm getting more opportunities to play the club on the course. Used it out of some rough with the ball above my feet a couple times with good results. I'm still not confident with it, but I blame that on my (lack of) skill with woods. The weather was good and the Knik glacier made it's appearance on the 6th tee. Don't mind the obvious evidence of the chunk hit. I had to get a picture of the wind tree. We get hit with some tough winds off the glaciers in this valley. I got to the range a couple times with my mlm2pro. My computer went down but I should have my stats from those sessions soon to share. I am noticing a lot of inconsistency in my swing with it. I've been getting a couple good ones in a row followed by some bad ones. So my numbers are a little off. I'm not finding the distance I'm looking for, seeing a lot of 20+ yard roll outs that get to 200 yards but I'm looking for that 185+ carry for these long par 3s. I'll end with another nice shot of the scenery jbern, JFish350, J7Hawkins and 7 others 8 2 Quote Driver: Paradym X 3-wood: Rouge st Max D Hybrid: Callaway super hybrid 17* Irons: 5-Aw Callaway A.I. I don't think I would say it is "easier: off the tee, but it definitely is launching higher off the tee than off the deck. Dcfrench3
Was finally able to take this club out on the course on 8/3/24. Boy it was hot that day. I tried to get as much stats as I could on this day and take pictures with it. I also was a little off today so they could be skewed. Sorry if I missed a few, but playing golf I just like to be in the moment and don’t usually carry my phone. Red Hawke is a pretty hilly course and has a lot of dog logs. There is a video of the course if you want to see what I was playing on and get a better idea of the holes I was hitting off of. Hole #1 – Off Rough ~ 200 Yards I played this shot which was in the rough a little bit. Being that I am considering maybe switching out my 4 Hybrid I thought it pertinent to try it out here. Hole #2 – Off Tee – 209 Yards Hole #4 – Off Tee – 208 Yards Hole #7 – Off Tee - 159 Yards Hole #7 – Off Fairway – 160 Yards Hole #9 – Off Tee - 168 Yards Hole #10 – Off Tee - 249 Yards Hole #12 – Off Tee – 217 Yards Hole #13 – Off Fairway – 130 Yards Hole #16 – Off Rough – 56 Yards I butchered this shot… Hole #16 – Off Fairway - ~187 Yards Hole #18 – Off Fairway – 215 Yards Sound This is for the people who requested the sound. I'll let you be the judge. 20240803_144129 (1).mp4 20240803_160122 (1).mp4 All in all, I really enjoyed playing with this club. While I don’t think I would switch our my 4 Hybrid for when I’m in the rough, I do think I will switch it out with my current 3 wood purely because I like to look and feel more even though my original 3 wood does get a little more distance. I'm going to attempt to get in another TopGolf sessions for more stats. J7Hawkins, William P, Shrek74 and 2 others 3 2 Quote Golfing is to focus yet not focus on your shot at the same time.
