Been a while since I've been able to participate in this thread, but due to some swing speed gains from The Stack system it was time for some upgrades.  Went from from S to X in the driver shaft and got a new Ventus black for the driver.
Then I also wanted to swap iron shafts, and it just seemed like a perfect excuse for new heads too.  Found a great deal on some Srixon ZX 5's and went with the Modus 3 125 shafts I play now but in X flex.  Topped them off with some PURE grips and BB&F ferrules.

Cobra has been underrated for a while now, agree with all the comments on them.

I can't believe nobody has said Wilson Staff yet though.  Their woods are definitely coming around and their irons have been sleeper hits for a few years now.

Sorry man, I made an assumption and as usual made an @ss out of myself 🙂  Sounds like for many of us you have the dream job 🙂
I would really look at it based on irons.  Would you rather play Cobra or Srixon irons?  For me Srixon wins that battle, but I don't really think there is a wrong answer.  From the sounds of it if you go Cobra you are probably looking at irons and top end of the bag?  If you go Srixon it's irons and wedges?  So you just have to ask would you rather have freedom to experiment with the top end, or bottom end of the bag?  Or another way to ask, would you rather have to buy your own driver, or your own wedges?
This sounds like a fun problem to have, best of luck on your decision!

Double check wind and elevation settings as well.
I've not played around with TM settings but I've heard those are things you can change, so maybe?

As a group we buy/sell/trade a lot of gear on a regular basis, time to show it off.  So what have you bought lately?

I picked up a Carnahan St. John's putter in the bargain bin at 2ndSwing for $8.  Took it home and reshafted/gripped it and put in some new paintfill.

Next up is the possible replacement for my SLDR.  I really wanted it to be a G30 LS, but the numbers just weren't there.  So hit this bad boy and spin dropped almost 900rpm and ball flight straightened out.  I'll have to get it on the course for a side by side comparison before I determine if it makes a spot in the bag.

hckymeyer got a reaction from jbern in DIY Black Putter Shaft (or other colors)
I can't even count how many times I've seen posts on various forum's asking where to buy black putter shafts.  Happens all the time, and while swapping a putter shaft is pretty easy, this is a whole lot easier.

All you need is polyolefin heat shrink tubing.  Just take off the grip, slide it down over the shaft, and then apply heat.

Today I decided I wanted a black shaft on my Evnroll ER5 putter.  Here's the before picture.

I already wanted to change the grip so I just cut it off with a utility knife and cleaned up the grip tape.  Then just slide the tubing over the butt end all the way down to the head.  Make sure to get it all the way down because it will shrink a little bit when you heat it up.  A quick tip is to just heat the very end next to the head, maybe the bottom 2".  Then you can still push it down again so you don't see any shaft next to the head.

Here's the shaft all shrunk down before the grip goes on.

I blow my grips on with air so after that step I just put on one layer of blue painters tape and then blew on the Superstroke for the finished product.

All done!  Quick and easy matte black putter shaft.  Took me about 5-10 minutes total time.  The best part is that this stuff comes in a ton of different colors so it's easy to create a very unique putter.  I should also mention this stuff is dirt cheap.  You can easily find 15' for under $10 shipped on ebay.  That's enough to do 4-5 putters depending on what length you play.

If you're interested just search 5/8" Polyolefin Heat Shrink Tubing on ebay and find something that looks good.

    Have fun!

Club length is just a fitting variable.  There is nothing inherently good or bad about doing it.  If you really want to test it I would suggest putting a mark on your grip where you want to choke down to, then make sure your hands are at that mark every time as practice.
Also just something to be aware of, if you cut 1/2" off the length that is probably going to lose around 3 swing weight points.  It's possible you will want to add weight back to get the same feel as before.

I think the big question is, specifically, what do you want new irons to do that your current irons aren't doing?  Are you actually having problems holding greens?  Are there actually gapping issues?  You keep mentioning your 7i carry distance and descent angle but those are just numbers and there's a lot more to it than that like @RickyBobby_PR already said.
What's your miss right now?  What percentage of shots would you consider "good" for your ability?
There's absolutely nothing wrong with just wanting new stuff.  I'm the one that created the club ho's anonymous thread so I completely get it.  I just think it's important to understand the rationale behind the purchase to help set expectations once you start using the new stuff.

I agree with everything above!  I would add that part of that relationship and developing trust is on you as well.  You need to start with being honest and open with what you are looking for up front.  I would start any fitting with an open discussion of what you want to accomplish or hope to get out of a fitting.  This is also a great time to give a budget if you have one as well.
