So expecting consistency in fit and quality manufacture isn't being a good customer?  I dont know about you but I expect both...and I also expect it reasonable for someone from customer service to respond to issues posted.

I have been a huge fan of John Ashworth's designs over the years.  But I've noticed similar issues with fit.  Tough to depend upon internet purchases, and tougher to locate retail outlets.  Linksoul ought to be jumping through hoops to make the customer's experience a good one.  And we should not be criticizing a customer for expressing displeasure if he is anything less than satisfied.

There are a lot of brands that have different fits do the same size between models. It’s not that unusual. It happens in shoes all the time too. Nike size 8 isn’t standard across the board in their shoes.

The op got a response the delay he was complaining about was his review being posted. Nothing wrong with someone expressing their displeasure but if that person is rude in doing so the chances they get something less than a cordial response is going to dramatically decrease because of that type of attitude

BTW the op hasn’t been on since February 15 so he really only came here to get a negative review posted on the internet of a brand because he didn’t like how he perceived the linksoul review process to be.

Hole 11 at RNK can be blown up for all I care, as long as I get to push the plunger 🙂

Played in a 36 hole tournament there a couple years back, BOTH rounds I hit it exactly into that grassy area above that bunker.  The first round I didn't move the ball at all on my first attempt, the 2nd shot, popped it enough to fall back into the bunker!!  In which it took me two more shots to get it up onto the green.

The 2nd round, I managed to hack it out of the deep grass onto the fringe and two putted for the happiest bogey I've ever gotten !!

You can not aim far enough left on that hole!!  I played it a 3rd time a few months later in a casual round, I think I aimed 20 yards left of the green and my fade brought it into the center of the green...ha

I was playing at a 19 at the time, and other than that hole, I pretty much played bogey golf for both rounds, even got natural birdies back to back on 7 and 8, to really tick off our playing partners who were both playing at less than 5 indexes 🙂

Yeah that hole can be demolished and I’ll take a bogey and move on

    Sure you do.

Everyone else here knows what I’m referring to. Please just stop. You’re the only person that throws jabs at me. I’m not here for that.

Telling you something isn’t true isn’t a jab and not everyone knows what you are referring to because I was puzzled when i saw your reference to a modus 115 iron shaft.

Yeah I really liked that part of it. To this point I hadn’t seen anything close to that kind of detail about the two shafts design.
I also liked that they gave it a fair shake and even Matt said it wasn’t a ‘bad shaft’ but they both clearly don’t like that its called a Ventus.
The change in strike location consistency was actually kind of amazing allowing for the fact that Matt is an elite ball striker.

Yeah matt seems to do better with stiffer profile shafts especially those with stiffer tip like what’s in the velocore version.

The discussion around value was a nice piece to the video. Slower swing speeds may not see a difference that’s worth spending $250 for the upgrade or $350 aftermarket. Someone with higher speeds like Matt may feel the stability is worth it

I didn't watch the full video, but Matt was hitting hooks with with the non-Velocore shaft. His dispersion was much better with the Velocore.

Numbers wise everything is close enough to be a wash but the standard deviation is slightly better with the velocore version which is what the shaft is designed to do.

for those interested in the difference between the two versions around the 3 min mark Ian talks about them and it’s not just the using non 70t material. The taper design is different and he even mentions that they really aren’t the same shaft.

  6. Value can only be determined by the individual involved.

With that said finding an instructor is an interview process to find someone that fits what you are looking to achieve and the method to get there. The price of the lesson doesn’t always equate the quality of instruction. Sometimes one may have to change instructors due to the way things are communicated don’t translate to the way the golfer can understand.

I have always been skeptical of the many training aids out there. Anyone out there have any experience with this one or anything similar?

I haven’t used it. This seems to move you and is kind of a positive feedback training aid. I know Mike Bender and a few others believes negative feedback provides faster results that aids with positive feedback.

hopefully you find someone on here that has experience with this and that they battle the same issues you are looking to correct.

I'd be afraid it could mess with your sequence and timing, not worth it.

Most people have bad timing due to bad sequencing. Changing that may not be a bad thing.

True. My hope is that a better shaft will help prevent my fade turning to a slice.

Plan B is to go back to the original shaft

That’s not really a shaft issue but a swing issue. A shaft may help with better delivery but unless one has a shaft that is just a terrible fit the shaft won’t have nearly the influence people expect

Alta. It was the one that came with the Ping Driver. I read the reviews on the t1100, good and bad, and you are right about the shaft being stout. Haven't gotten it in the mail yet, hopefully Monday, and will try it out at once. I can return if the shaft isn't for me. Another reason why I bought off of eBay.

You are going to extremes in both increase in weight and shaft profile. The shaft is great if it fits as swing but it’s very tip stiff.

Hopefully it works for you and you don’t have to return it but it’s nice having that plan b if it doesn’t

I’ve only hit them once during a fitting for shafts back in 2014. They were CB-501 and I loved them! Just couldn’t afford them!

They are expensive. The cb57 I got for a steal and are one of two sets of clubs I wish I never got rid of. I dumped my pxgs to get the cb301.

I was shocked to see a Miura review, from a former Spy, on Plugged-In Golf’s website that said the Miuras he tried didn’t feel great, and weren’t very forgiving . Shocked. First negative I’ve read!!!

I think people expect Miuras to feel soft like a Mizuno or other forged head. But the miuras aren’t a soft feeling head. They are more a dense and solid feel. So when people hit them even on a flushed shot they get something different than expected and the don’t like it.

Ive had cb57 and have cb301 and have hit the 1957 baby blades (talk about small and old school). I absolutely love the feel and sound of miuras.

Agreed, I only meant it’s often overlooked since most people only look at flex and maybe profile.

I don’t think it’s overlooked but many have the wrong perception of what it’s for. Years ago it was definitely more about the twisting at impact which it still influences but having hear directly from different shaft brands that it’s more about feel these days the twisting aspect isn’t what goes into the design as much.

How many still do a waggle test or try to bend a shaft to see how “stiff” it is? Those both mean nothing when it comes to how stiff a shaft is.

Heavy heads are offset well by a counterbalanced shaft, Ping does this all the time.

If you have a fast tempo then maybe a stout shaft is the way to go!

One thing to pay attention to is torque. Torque can make a stiff profile feel smooth, such as the Fujikura Ventus line. That’s why I recommend testing a bunch, or go for a proper fitting if you can.

It’s not necessarily torque that makes a shaft feel smooth. The EI profile has a role in it too.

The torque in the original Hzrdus black is the same as the ventus black and they feel completely different.

Sounds good! My thought is a stout shaft like this might be a good setup for a heavier head and fast tempo. The combo might help load it. Just looking for stability when I want to go after it

From my experience with PX shafts fast and aggressive swings like the hzrdus black and the hulk. The smoke line softened up the shafts a bit over the original hzrdus line. PX used some be materials in the green. I don’t know if it affects the stiffness. I don’t recall seeing an EI profile on the green or the hulk version of green but if it’s less beefy one the middle than black the stoutness would go down.

Anybody playing the Green HZRDUS “hulk” from project x? Wondering how stout it is

The green hulk is the stiffest shaft that PX has produced. The stoutness will feel different to every person. I know some guys with borderline 100mph smooth swings that tried it and didn’t like the feel or results. Another guy I talk to at the range had it in a couple drivers and he’s in the 115+ range. He liked it in the epic but not the Pxg.

    The TFC 419 X stiff

Don’t know what the problem is. That shaft is a high quality shaft and I’ve never seen any issues with it. It has to be some flaw in the head or the way the shaft is being installed.

I just ordered an EvenFlow White T1100 for my Ping G400 driver. I went up to 75 grams instead of the stock 55 but stayed with the stiff flex. I am hoping that a better shaft and a more suited shaft for my swing and swing speed will prevent my fades from turning to a terrible slice.

What stock shaft did you have that is 55g? A 20g increase is a lot of weight and thce t1100 is a pretty stout shaft.

    What's a jumper?

It’s a ball that goes further than expected. It’s something that’s been noted in clubs like the Callaway Apex cf16, p790s for some, i500 for some.

I have not heard about that or seen it with pxg. The cf16 were the only clubs I’ve experienced it happening with
