SPY VIP GolfSpyC Posted June 16, 2016 SPY VIP Share Posted June 16, 2016 Don't let scores from today (and maybe tomorrow) mislead you. As soon as it dries up a bit, marginal putters are going to be exposed and the rough is only going to more gnarly.

SPY VIP The Dansome Posted June 18, 2016 SPY VIP Share Posted June 18, 2016 Thoughts on the broadcast? I think Fox had done a far better job this year with visual coverage, however some of the color commenters area terrible. - Shane Bacon looks sloppy. Button that shirt up and get some proper slacks son. His Twitter bits fell completely flat. - Mark Brooks looks and sounds like he's collecting a pay check mumbling his way though analysis. - Oh man "Brownie Points". Did anyone see the church pews edition? Beyond cringe worthy watching an old man draw emoji's in the sand - I'm not sure Holly Sanders is right for this platform. And the kicker! Yesterday a commenter proposed the question wondering if Frenchman Gary Stal had a croissant for breakfast... SMH Anyways I'm sure I'll find more to rant about. hckymeyer
Every time they do that hole overview with Brooks and Saunders, Brooks has no idea what to do with his hands. Noticed every time yesterday, he just looks uncomfortable standing in front of the camera. Then today someone much have told him to just put his hand in his pocket. Overall though I like the broadcast. I think it's a vast improvement over last year and hopefully they keep getting better. I really like all the shot link stuff they are doing (when it works) and the subtle green overlay that shows the breaks is kind of cool too. revkev
The technology that Fox uses trumps any other issue IMO. Its very helpful to see the target and ball flight on nearly every shot. On a playing note I like that we are having a tournament where driving accuracy actually does matter. Also it was interesting that when Spieth's group went on the clock they all hit pretty good shots. I'm still reeling from trying to watch the NCAA championships. I was doing some painting at the time and was uncertain which would finish first. The pace has to get faster. Screenshot_2016-06-18-11-20-50.png I'd love to say I have some idea, but US Open's have a way of taking so many twists and turns. And with 36 holes, that's a ton of golf left to play and there's a double bogey waiting on every single hole. If DJ drives the ball like he did yesterday, I don't see him going into the 4th round not in the lead. That said, leaders won't get all of the 3rd round in today.. Undershooter
I absolutely love the use of shot tracker. The green analyzer not so much. GolfSpy Barbajo
Agree with the fact Fox's coverage is about a jillion times better than last year. Really like the shot tracker and the data provided. Don't even mind Joe Buck all that much. Looking at the leader board - if no one challenges DJ I can see him winning. If it comes down to him and a couple of others, I fear the putter will let him down. Could it be Sergio's turn???? He made an ugly double, but the save on 5 was awesome and he had to hole a putt to do it - 72 holes is a lot of golf on this tough of a course - I think if you can get to even by the end of round 3, you're still in a pretty good position...
