CARLSBAD, Calif. (Aug. 28, 2022) - Rory McIlroy became the first player in FedExCup History to win the season long trophy three times. McIlroy relied on his Stealth Plus 9.0° driver and TP5x golf ball to seal the come-from-behind victory to win the TOUR Championship and FedEx Cup at East Lake Golf Club in Atlanta by one stroke at 21-under par (67-67-63-66). The 6-stroke final round comeback by McIlroy is the largest in TOUR Championship history.

The win marks McIlroy's third of the 2021-22 season and second with his Stealth Plus driver. McIlroy was lethal with his driver during the final round with nine drives over 300-yards on Sunday, including a 342-yard drive to the left side of the fairway on the 18th hole.

Rory's TP5x golf ball and Spider X Hydro Blast putter came in clutch on the pivotal par-3 15th where McIlroy electrified the crowd with a 31-foot birdie putt to push him to a tie for the lead. Down the stretch, McIlroy used his Milled Grind 3 wedge and Spider X to secure an epic par save on the 16th, made a two-putt par on the 17th and par on the 18th to finish off the win.

TM is one of the few brands not in my bag, and I doubt anytime soon, but, Rory was awesome yesterday. I especially like that Rory came from behind, only one stroke better than Mr. Complainer Jon Rahm, to win the $18M. Maybe Mr. Rahm chooses to concentrate on his game and have fun with  the format next year, and realize that it’s ‘for the fans,’ instead of taking personality queues from Kevin Durant, the most miserable man in basketball, according to Sir Charles.
