Need a Trolley.....What do I get?

badgergolf

Recommended Posts

Looking for a decent trolley for those lazy days I don't feel like carrying the clubs on my back for a full 18.

Don't need anything fancy just a push/pull will do nicely. Will be a first time having a trolley. Bag is a PING HOOFER TOUR STAND which will be used with it so please show out suggestions!

Cheers!

Clicgear 3.5+

Usually can find them used for good.price. fits all sorts of bags. Of course cart bags a little better but I used mine with a stand bag before. 3 wheels and very smooth and solid storage and break. Downside it is a heavier cart, however moves well, folds up nicely and well they are tanks and last forever (at least mine have).

Seen the clicgear 4.0 as obviously thats their current model. Wasn't sure if a swivel wheel would be a worthwhile thing to have. Have seen the ROVIC which I know is clicgear manufactured.

Not a deal breaker in my opinion. Standard model works just fine.

I have the 4.0, and the only complaint I have about it is that I don't use it enough (hot/humid south Texas summers tempt me to ride more than I should).  But the cart is GREAT.  Personally, I prefer the static front wheel to the swivel wheel... I have used a swivel wheel, and it tends to run away from me when I park it on slopes... so the swivel works well... too well.  The clicgear is a little heavier than some (as mentioned above) but it pushes smooth and is built like a tank.  I also like how compact it is when folded.. easily fits in my trunk with my clubs, or even behind my seat.  My vote is for the 4.0, but I have playing partners that have the 3.5 (and have had forever... they have no reasons to replace them... still doing the job after hundreds of rounds).

Going to go with the 4.0 purely because its the cart I can get on a next day delivery here in the U.K no one has the 3.5 still in stock and want it for a round on Wednesday.

Will have my Garmin Z82 & Clicgear 4.0 to play with that round so should be good fun.

Just waiting til the 4th October for my putter fitting and I am all set!

Yes, will be sure to get some images.

Need to jump into the Putter Thread see what people's thoughts are. Luckily there is a Master Putter Fitter near me with a large range but seeing as everything else I have is Ping I do like the thought of the Anser PLD but will see what they fit, can test out the armlocks and all sorts there.

I'd of recommended the Bag Boy Nitron for the quick pop up feature, as compared to my Brother and Father's Clicgear 3.5's it's much more convenient and has better storage out of the box. Clicgear does have an exceptional range of accessories though and is an excellent option!

Well it looks like you already made your pick but in case anyone else comes looking, I have loved my bag boy nitron. It’s not my first push cart so I have some experience finding things I like and dislike with various models. The pop up and assisted fold alone makes this my favorite I have ever used. I have used 4 different(non bag boy) bags so far and have had no issues strapping anything to it. Some do fit better than others but it’s easy to adjust to the bag.

Pros-

-extra storage pocket under handle

-really easy to open and close

-Elastic straps for any bag

-available lock in feature if you use a bag boy bay

-seat available.

-hand brake

cons-

-ball storage doesn’t really hold balls in place so they rattle around

-some stand bags are awkward to place on bottom platform

-drink holder doesn’t work well with cans depending on where you like the handle.

-FORE
