Update to WITB (New Putter Paintfill)

Only real change is the Superstroke Traxion tour 2.0 that replaces my putters stock grip. It matches what's on my chipper, which I know feels great in my hands and gives the option to add counter weighting in the future. Not going there for now, as the putter is already heavy in terms of total weight. I want to see if a heavier grip will create a little counter to the massive head without making the whole thing too heavy. First impressions it feels more balanced.

My 3H changes from 20@22° to the stated loft and 5H changes from 24@25° to stated loft.

These changes might address any gapping issues I have between 155-200 yards and make a new 4/5i/UT a complete luxury.

4/19/23 WITB update

 

WITB now stands for what's in the bags. I have been walking with the stand bag more, it feels comfortable to have them all with me everywhere I go on course vs. Cart or handcart. 

New additions have made it so I have 2 sets I could bring either and enjoy playing, swap back and forth if I want to get mad scientist.

Channeling my inner Phil Mickelson and bringing 2 drivers and a full toe wedge to lean on at a bomb and chip kind of 9 hole course tomorrow.

I left out the new to me 917 f2 3w since it's gotten a ton of use in the few days since I bought it and I trust my old XR 4w more as a rescue club.

I've used the TS2 driver at 12° for a month now, and the XR at 9.5° for a couple days.

Going to test them at the other extremes tomorrow, TS2 at 9.75° and XR at 12.5° and try to decide if either is the ideal setup vs. what I've been using.

I hit a lot of fairways with the Titleist so it's crazy to be experimenting, but the XR was $75 to mess with and has been amazing so far. Hit a 340y drive with cart path help and hit a 280y on the 18th yesterday. Those are unimaginable numbers with the TS2 at 12° like I've been gaming.

4th of July Weekend patriotic update to WITB

Gave my putter a red/white/blue gpaint remodel to replace the previous owner's Miami Nights Neon vision.

Also got a 2i 699u to match my 5i 699u and 6i-PW 699 set. Not painting these red/white/blue but I can't think of much more 'Merica activity than miss-hitting a 2i off the astroturf at the driving range before hitting up a dive bar..which is my plan for tomorrow. 

The set as currently constructed has 14 clubs, but 2 drivers is a luxury I could forego if I find the right wedge or 5w
