Good clean packaging, very inviting product

The carrying case is very nice and will help keep the unit protected when going from the range straight to the course.

I like the stand for it, it does give a little bit of height, the other units I have seen on the market are very short and I think that can affect the view of the cameras to the swing.

Set up was easy and intuitive, it took me less than 5 minutes to get it all set and going.

I still got set up all of the individual clubs so I can take it to the range

I like that you can set up and connect to external apps for simulation, I will explore that as I go along.

Overall I am very impressed with the first on hands of the Rapsodo MLM2Pro!

    That looks sick!

  2. Nice. We were going to play Copper Rock but they are having the Epson Tour event that same week there. The guy who set it up for me seemed to think Coral Canyon and Ledges were better anyway. Thanks for the tip on Sky Mountain, I looked into that one also but glad we aren’t going there.

We are paying around $900 for all 4 courses plus 3 nights of lodging per person through the Ledges. Wolf Creek is by far the most expensive and it’s the premium time of year I think and it’s around $360. So most I’ve ever paid for a round ha.

  3. Played Highland Park yesterday in Birmingham. Fun course in great condition, just very old and in the city so it is shorter than normal at around 5800 from the tips. However it has very tricky greens, lots of elevation changes, and tight fairways with thick rough and hazards to make up for it.

Shot a new PR of 73 (par 70) and got my first eagle! Had not played the course in a few years and I was very impressed with the conditions. IMG_2355.jpeg.cd71a53c238ea7d92c75b85878a6a33d.jpegIMG_2354.jpeg.bfe0734b5f50285a2425d01547e26196.jpegIMG_2356.jpeg.ac17e5f71e912f9d443a6dfcab513cf7.jpeg

  4. 541 par 5 at Highland Park. Road on the left with a chain link fence lining it. I rope hook my drive right into the fence but luckily I hit a post and it shoots back into the fairway. I’m still 280 yards from the green so I decide to go driver off the deck. Hit it as straight as possible and put it to 20 feet. Two putt for birdie. Top 5 best shots I’ve ever hit. Also got a PR score of +3 as well.

    Well....   I'm back.

Previous Gen rtx zipcore 46.  Brand new.  It's a little close to my PW at 44 but the gapping works really well from a PD/GI pitching wedge to a blade wedge.  I've been mulling a shift from my Mizuno wedges to the zipcores.  The Mizuno's are great but that added bit of forgiveness in the Zipcores with the blade look might be a better fit.  Something about the Srixon/Cleveland brand just works for me.   I may be in here announcing a new 52 and 56 pretty quickly if I hit it during actual play like I did at the range today.    😆

    I love the Zipcores!

Lots of good info there Ben.  With all the lengthy post I made, it may hand gotten implied I am short and inaccurate.  I kinda joked about that ih s post.  But I am above average with driver accuracy for my handicap.  I play with other 20’s that will not 6 or 7 balls OB a round.  But they are much younger and have the strength and distance to make up for it.  In typical round o will hit 9-10 fairways.  And the misses aren’t usually OB there are 1 or 2 holes in oir 36 where I have to guard against a penalty off the tee.

Hitting a draw?  Many teaches have tried and they all failed    Seriously  I do not have the physical capability od biting a draw   Sure I can over exaggerate it and hit a snap hook 30 yards off the tee   But hitting a normal draw   Just can’t do it

i sos before and no one took me up on it   If someone can guarantee me they can get me hitting a draw in one lesson even if it’s 2 or 3 hour lesson    I’d pay $500 and any travel expenses   The offer is there!

On the short approach shots.  You may have missed the post where I referenced a lot of that is due to a league I play in that is played from the white tees. Where I know outside of the par 3’s there nigjt be 1 or 2 holes where I can actually reach the green.  So I lau back with a shot that won’t get me in trouble and leave me a comfortable wedge distance.

I don’t play in that league to win.  I have some friends that play in it and it’s a way of spending some time with them.  and before anyone thinks it.  I’m not one to hold things up by playing the wrong tees.  A couple weeks ago we finished our 9 holes in 1:50 minutes in a steady rain.  Most weeks the course is packed with A and B groups.  So no group finishes in less than 2:15 for 9 most weeks.

So I don’t really focusi on the approaches short.  In addition over the greens ar our course is pure dead 95% of the holes

On GI clubs  no argument here.  I’d you read my fitting for the T350 you will see I play T300 and just ordered the T350, even though the fitter said I could easily play the 200/350 combo.   But I really liked the 350 P,  it hit so well and deleted very good. so going with the T200 in short irons would have been letting ego make the decision

    All good thoughts though.  Thanks

Ok, I understand better now. If you are hitting fairways with acceptable length then I would not worry about hitting a draw. Fades are easier to control they just don’t typically go as far. It just seemed from reading your posts your shots were mostly short and missed were slices. But if you are hitting fairways with decent length trying to draw it can mess you up too.

  7. Stealing this from my coworker, who is a very good golfer and played college golf.

In the mid 90s he was working for an auto dealership in Birmingham. A minor league baseball player wanted to rent a car from them. The minor leaguer's name was Michael Jordan, not sure if you heard of him or not. So, they gave him a good deal but asked him to do some sort of event for the dealership. They wanted to throw a party, but he did not want to do that, but said "I would love to play a round of golf with a couple of the sales guys." So, the owner of the dealership is a member of Shoal Creek (1984 and 1990 PGA Championship site). My coworker, Jim, gets invited to play with them. MJ likes to gamble so he says, "let's play four ball" and plays against Jim. Jim says, "how much a hole?" MJ replies "whatever makes you sweat bud."

They get to the 17th hole, and Jim's team is down 1. Par 5, hits a good drive but in front of the green is water. Jim gets his 3W out and then puts it back to lay up. MJ looks at him serious as a heart attack and says, "If you scared, get a dog!" Jim grabs 3W and puts it in the water. Ha.

The next week, Jim and his wife see MJ somewhere around town and he says hey. MJ is very nice and talks to him and of course recognizes him. Jim's wife asks for a picture and MJ obliges. Then the get home and there is no film in the camera! The memories will have to do!

Went out and walked 9 today in the rain and I can for sure say the waterproof part is confirmed also something I love is they clean off so easily almost had my first solo eagle but I pulled my 2 foot chip probably should have putted it but o well

I will second that on the cleaning part, I was a dummy and stepped in a mudhole trying to find a ball near the red marker (did not) and they cleaned off pretty well.

I am traveling to play this coming week and am going back to my spikeless to see if I can tell a difference. I also did not want to pack these new shoes and bend them up too much.

  9. From what I am reading, it seems that distance and a wide dispersion off the tee are a big issue. Many people think improving one can make the other worse but in my experience these go hand in hand.

When you miss with the driver, do you slice it or push it? Do you typically hit a draw or a fade? If you can get to drawing it more with less spin, you can gain a good bit of yards, I’d bet 2 club lengths into the green on average (if that is your issue, you may draw it fine now) without even swinging any faster.

Obviously I do not know your health issues in the past, but in one of you posts you said that your online coach seems to think you can get to a pretty good swing speed for what you are looking for. Next lesson you do, I would ask the coach for a couple of things:

    1. How can I setup in my stance and grip to hit a draw with less spin?

    2. How can I use the ground forces more for better power? This also helps with face control and delofting the club.

I was hesitant to post since I have never seen you swing and I’m no golf coach. But it seems if you gained some distance that it would fix a lot of other issues. Imagine if you turned every 6 iron into an 8 iron? Think you would have better proximity to the hole? Imagine if your 3W on par 5s instead of giving you a 100 yard shot gave you a 30 yard pitch chip or putt off the green? Not to mention #2 above will make your fairway shots go longer and straighter as well.

Chipping is always important to improve upon but from reading your description of your 9 hole round (albeit that is a sample size of one) that does not seem to be that big of an issue.

If you made it this far, thanks for reading. Ha.

  10. Played my first round in these finally minus a scramble the other day. I definitely felt more connection with the ground and I had 4 drives over 290 and 1 over 300. Seemed like I had a little better dispersion on irons besides a couple of mishits. Hard to see if it’s the shoes though because I did make a swing change. I do like the added stability and the comfort is as good as my spineless shoes.

Next goal is to walk 18 as I rode yesterday. Had 112* heat index Friday and today so I rode.

  11. Starting to get in the groove of using Arccos once I gave up on the Linc. It will add random shots maybe 2-3 times a round or miss a shot every once in awhile but that is it.

I do have a question that I thought you all might know. Is there a way that you can see a breakdown of the SG by the actual shot? Like as in “approach shot on hole 1 was SG +0.4” or something similar. Reason I ask is that sometimes the SG numbers seem odd and I would love to see how each home adds up to what I am getting.
