I had all my “golf equipment “ shipped to my work address. After I retired I was definitely in trouble.

I’m with the other naysayers, most of these ‘services’ are a black hole of hate and uselessness.  Even my own mother became too much to bear.
I watch YouTube for music and golf entertainment.  Pick up on some other interesting stuff like the tiny house movement.
Sad that the world thinks they need to spew they thoughts into public.  Check Proverbs for wisdom in keeping your mouth shut.  One of my favorites is Proverbs 17:28 NIV
[28] Even fools are thought wise if they keep silent, and discerning if they hold their tongues.
Maybe I’m that curmudgeon I used roll my eyes at 🙄

3 straight tournaments with Bryson in serious contention, why are people still trying to pick his game apart? Not sure I get it. Sure, his short game is probably what's holding him back from the winners circle, but that's by just a handful of strokes all weekend. He's playing extremely well, and if he keeps it up he's gonna win soon, no doubt.
Meanwhile people are still giving Ricky all sorts of run and think this is the tournament he'll turn it around (obviously swing changes are very difficult), I just think it's really interesting how media and social can nit pick a guy who's been hands down the best golfer since the resumption of play, then go and talk up a guy who hasn't won in 5(?) years, and is coming off all sorts of missed cuts. I get that Ricky's a really likeable guy, but I still can't quite get that one straight in my head

Had a amazing weekend playing Desert Canyon. played on Sat. did not get to play on Fri as hoped.. Desert Canyon was in incredible shape. Wind blew bad all day sat. 2-3 club wind most of the day. Iron shots were blown into the next county, or stalled in mid air.. it was so bad balls would be wiggling on putting surface.. Play terribly.. one of the most schizophrenic rounds I have played in years.. I only could string together 2-3 good shot 3 maybe 4 times during the whole round. I had 2 9's on the scorecard, could not tell you the last time i scored a 9 let alone 2 while playing sober... LOL.. Had a great weekend, just couldn't hit water if I fell out of a boat..

Played Loomis Trails in Blaine, WA this weekend.  It's been nearly 15 years since I first played the course.  I was reminded how great a track it is, and all of the "hidden" dangers.  I should of bought a yardage book - would have saved me at least 3 shots!

The dreaded 60 ft putt for eagle.  I RARELY make those.  haha.  In all seriousness, I would say the 60yd bunker shot.  We have a few places on my course where you can find yourself in them.  I never practice this shot so obviously it would be an area of weakness.  I will also mention, at my course, not all bunkers are created equal.  Some have TONS of sand in them while others have a very thin amount of sand.  It is so frustrating as a golfer.  Fill all bunkers with the same type and amount of sand.

My most inconsistent golf shot is trying to go for the green in two on par 5’s. I can hit a drive normally around 275-285 carry, so I get in my head, “man it would be awesome, to get on the green and have a chance at eagle.” That rarely happens...I either try to muscle my 4 iron or get out my 3/5 wood and place the shot. My problem is I can’t hit my 3/5 wood consistently (hand me down, will eventually get fit for y’all next purchase), but I trick myself into thinking I can.

Lately, I’ve really been focusing on laying up to 75-100 yards and in, but my no laying up mindset always creeps into my mind.

First time poster here. I'm in NE Portland. Recently moved here in the last year and enjoying playing new courses. My handicap is a 2 and I enjoy playing competitive golf. This site has opened my eyes to all things nerdy about golf and I love it!

Welcome Bryce to MGS. I'm also a south sounder that plays out of Spanaway Lake. Its good to be back playing again. Somewhere in the last 2 months I lost my swing so if you find it please return it.

I have to agree with you on the OEMs feelings,  popeye. I had the Maltby TE forged irons for the past 5 years and its been the best set of irons I've ever had. They're a very forgiving iron with lofts that are not jack up.

Triplebogey let us know how those wedges perform for you. Been curious on those wedges.

I once played Myrtle Beach National. When I arrived to the first par three on the back nine I was 4 under. I immediately called my dad and said “I’m four under with 6 to play”. I got a 10 on that par 3 and the rest is history

I haven’t had any time to practice since the end of December. It has been a tough start to the new year. My wife was hospitalized with bacterial meningitis, which is a life threatening illness. We are fortunate it was caught early on enough that she was treated and she is on the road to recovery and is now out of the hospital.

I can always count on my 3H to hook it into the woods OB. And then when I think to myself that I will hook this next one, then I hit it straight.

My least favorite club in my bag is probably my 3 hybrid, although I played yesterday and smoked it about 230 yards into a 10 mph head wind.  My favorite club is my 3 wood.  I am usually money with that off the tee or the turf.  I also love a good 7 iron.

Worst club for me is the driver. I hate it, jus looking at them makes me sick.

Best club... I’d have to go with my 2 hybrid if finding the fairway is a must.

The club I love and hate the most is my 60 degree. When its on and I keep my head still for the 30-65 yard shot 2 bounces and checks right where I want it to be. But on those bad days I become sir chunks a lot hahaha

What I considered my best club 2 years ago is now my worst which is the 3 wood. I just can not hit this club straight. Thank goodness the last day before the course closures I cracked it. My best club would be the pitching wedge. I have confidence in the club with full shots to chipping. BTW just ordered the Mizuno ST180 3W with the Tensei CK Blue shaft. Hoping for better results as I didn't get to test it out before buying.

Well Its been about 9 months since I have been on the forum and I see things have changed. Probably for the good. Not being on the forum doesn't mean I've been away from MGS, I have read pretty much every article that comes out. Great stuff and keep up the awesome work that you guys do. I still live in Puyallup Washington but moved my home course to Lake Spanaway GC in Pierce County. I currently have an 8 handicap but been playing really well ( 3 rounds of 74) until the course closures that we're currently dealing with. I am the general manager at a local bowling center here in town. How I picked my user name is that I believe the short game in golf is the most important part of the game. I'm not a long hitter so the short game becomes more relevant to my score.
