I get beat up on the golf course every time I play. I want to see those guys get beat up too. I want to se that winning score be over par!

YES! I think the courses should be adjusted to the players handicaps. It's compelling to watch guys really work hard to make par. Yes, there is entertainment value watching guys go low but I don't believe that belongs in the Opens. Both the US and British Opens should be won at -5 or less.

Told my wife that I'll get up early with the baby this weekend!

Ok I've recovered from that Open finish. Wow. Spieth could have folded after 13 but just went out and took that jug. Dropping bomb putts like that was just unreal. Kid was on another level than

Agree- I absolutely love the Open Championship- and was blessed to have the opportunity to experience it first-hand in 2010, celebrating the 150th anniversary of the Open Championship.  (see inset image) - We arrived Wednesday of the Championship, and stayed in Dundee- across the Firth of Forth.  Played Carnoustie, Castle course on the Friday they delayed the Open due to weather and wind (we played through), Kingsbarns, and on Saturday.  We watched the players negotiate the Old Course on Sunday- what an amazing treat- I have marshaled at quite a few PGA tournaments (ATT Pebble, US Open at Olympic, ATT -now Quicken Loans in DC area) - the Open was different in so many ways- nobody yelling "mashed potatoes" or other ridiculous comments- and the fans appreciating the difficulty of some of the shots the players made.

We had the great good fortune to be able to move into the Old Course Hotel on Monday morning, play the New Course in a soaking rain that Monday, and play the Old Course when it opened Tuesday morning (hence the photo in front of the R&A on the First Tee.)  That night for dinner, we dined (16 players and 11 wives) in the conservatory of the Hotel, overlooking the Road Hole- and as an added treat, had the wonderful experience of actor David Joy channeling the Ghost of Old Tom Morris entertain us with a short history of the Open, through a very thick Scottish Brogue.  Indeed, it was memories of and for a lifetime- and I am grateful not only to the group of good friends, some no longer with us, who made it happen, but also to the institution that  is the Open-   T'was a very special trip.

Thanks for reminding me, again, of the joy of that trip!

All of the majors need to be tough but fair. I personally don't enjoy watching guys struggle on a course but I also don't want to see them turn it into a pitch and putt contest

Royal Birkdale, a course where Tiger Woods has not won. However, I think The Golf Channel will somehow work his name into the discussion.

That's a given.

When Phil won it at -3, that was The Open at its best IMO. He made birdie on 17 and 18 when no one else could and earned that victory.

I'd love to C Phil get one more since he's nearing end of his career but!!

There r a ton of young good players lead by DJ, Rickie, John Rahm, etc who I believe can win this thing.

Should be a fun watch! Everyone enjoy

Yeah I hear ya. Always a fan of Phil. Been reading that Hideki and Fleetwood are a couple of good picks to put your money on as well.

The winning score is all about the weather.

I'm picking Paddy Harrington to repeat at Royal Birkdale.

He's got the game for it. If he brings that 2 iron back and plays tactful he will do well. When he goes for broke... not so good.

I hate when they have perfect weather at The Open...it needs to rain and the wind needs to blow or it's just not as much fun to watch.
