I always pick up a souvenir if available. No reason not to.

Come on jamo, your souvenir shopping is not even close to ball marker topic.

My post about the souvenirs was to provide support for someone marking with a poker chip and wondering if that was OK. The inference is that if they are sold in the shop, they are OK. Your marking with a house comment was good. And relevant.

The fact that you grab a hat or towel or something from courses you play is interesting, but not relevant to this thread.

You mentioned souvenirs, a ball marker can be a souvenir. A lot of nice courses even put their logo on them. It's a nice memento.

I agree, but this thread is not about selecting a nice trinket to remind you about your round. It is about how you mark your ball.

I'll start another souvenir thread right now.

  • 2 weeks later...

Under the rules you could mark your ball with a house if you wanted, but it would be hard to move if it was in the way. So as long as you could move it out of the way for someone, it seems fine to me.

A silver dollar sized medal I got in the Marine Corps for intramural football.

Love the big coin as a marker.

I actually went looking for a silver dollar from my birth year '69, but it turns out they were not minted that year.

What't the story with the Huskies DJ?

Born just outside Seattle and took vacations there almost every year before high school. I just love Washington as a whole(especially Seattle) and would love to go to college there.

You could do worse. Touch too damp and cold for me though. Would love one of my kids to go there though for visiting.

Do worse? I don't think I could do better!

Maybe true. I spent a month one summer at WA St.

What a beautiful place too. My only Seattle experience is the airport, so it may not be the reference you have. B)

Won't you get blasted with out of state tuition though?

Out of state tuition isn't as good as in state tuition, but it's no where near as expensive as private universities.

That is a good plan. When my kids get to HS and are ready for college, we are going to bust butt to find the free $$$

Just make sure you don't own 1/4 of your dead grandmother's beach house worth, in total, .5 million. They expect you to sell it to finance college.

That would be an interesting sales pitch the the admissions department. "I'm a good student, but not great, and I'm a good golfer, but not great. Put together, I think I deserve some money."

if you call a 4.33 weighted GPA "good, not great" there's something wrong...

Nice work there. That doesn't happen without work.

As for the old guys realize that your SAT scores don't compare to the new ones.

They added a section, so your 1600 is no longer perfect...

They added writing, which includes an essay and other writing sections, mostly about grammar. Some colleges still don't look at the writing section though, apparently the jury is still out as to whether is predicts anything.

Now 2400 is perfect.
