The New SQAIRZ Speed BOLD is a WINNER

On a previous forum we discussed the SQAIRZ’s shoes and the evolution of their product. Mr. Bob Winskowicz the CEO from SQAIRZ is one of the few members of the golf equipment industry to actually take the time to engage with us on these sites. The engagement on the original SQAIRZ thread led to Mr. Winskowicz and I having some direct communications. In this engagement I was offered the chance to give the New SQAIRZ BOLD a test run. I have always been a Footjoy guy, but went into the test with an open mind. Here are my thoughts:

First the shoes came well packaged and included a pair of socks and alternative laces. Footjoy does not offer those extras. First impressions go a long way. These shoes are clean and scream stability. I chose the white with the red accents. This shoe is sharp looking, but can it perform?

The SQAIRZ BOLD were a perfect fit out of the box. I wear a 9 1/2 in Footjoy’s and the sizing for the SQAIRZ was exactly the same. I originally had concerns because my previous experience with the original SQAIRZ was a heavy shoe that hurt my feet in the heel. These new shoes are showcase the evolution of SQAIRZ. The SQAIRZ BOLD fit perfect. They were extremely stable yet I did not find them too heavy. These shoes could be worn walking or riding. So, in a nutshell these shoes are comfortable out of the box and fit great. The only feedback I provided at this stage: personally I prefer a pull tab on the heel to help inserting my foot into the shoe. The test shoes did not have that feature and not sure if the final version will have the tab. However, it isn’t a major item and some people probably prefer no pull tab.

What you are really waiting for is performance. As Jack Nicklaus has stated “the golf swing starts from the ground up”. On the course: the shoes broke in immediately! The square toe not only assist with performance, but I found it assisted with alignment. Especially during putting. So, I am a very aggressive swinger. I tend to leave nothing in the bag. I have had shoes before (Footjoy Traditions) where my foot slipped out from under me. This will never happen in the SQAIRZ BOLD! This shoe is stable and has superior spikes. Also SQAIRZ will give you replacement spikes for the life of the shoe. I don’t know any other company with that offer. I truly gave these shoes a test ride. Balance and stability were the key elements of these shoes. I could swing as aggressive as I wanted without worry. Lastly, the company claims these shoes will add distance. Well when you gave a stable platform and can keep your balance good things happen. I found I gained 5 to 10 yards off the driver and 5 yards with my irons. This was extremely impressive.

Final thoughts: if you are looking for a great golf shoe consider the SQAIRZ BOLD. These are a clean looking shoe that  is comfortable. However, the greatest feature is the stability and balance. Looking forward to the release of this shoe next month!

Absolutely LOVE that you got to test these out, especially given your experience with v1.  Awesome! These are high up on my list of "next shoe" - great write-up and let us know how they continue to hold-up - if it was just love at first 18 or what 😉

Thank you and three more rounds and still like these shoes! Today it was in the rain. My feet are dry and no slipping on wet turf. These are great shoes!

Wow, those look great! I’ve just started to look into getting better shoes. Cool to hear you found you got some distance gains! I’m also looking for shoes that are great for walking. Did you happen to walk 18+ holes with them?

I did not, but today was cart path only. So, there was a lot of walking. They were extremely comfortable. I would be willing to walk 18 in them.
