GolferXY
Hey Spies! I am doomed to play mostly municipal courses, and few of them have driving ranges, much less adequate short game work stations. What is your answer to getting golf-ready when you find yourself in this situation? -XY Quote -XY BALL: Titleist ProV1X WOODS: Taylormade Stealth2 +, Callaway Epic Flash 3-wood 4- HYBRID: Stealth 2, stiff IRONS: Ping i525, 6 - W, 1 degree flat, ProjectX 5.5 110 g shafts WEDGES: Titleist SM9 52, 56, 60 PUTTER: L.A.B Mezz Max Broomstick BAG: Ping Pioneer CART: MGI electric Link to comment
GolfSpy_APH
Personally I just want to get warmed up with a swing. I do not really look distances or where the ball is going too much. More focusing on contact and just finding a swing. Range balls are what they are and at best are not the most predictable. WIth driver I just want to see a general direction or shape and may try to see if I can find a swing that works the ball a bit left to right for me. Most the ranges will be mats which are fine, but I find hide poor strikes. I don't normally do a lot of putting, but may hit 10 or so putts if I do. Then I will do a bit of chipping again just to get a decent feel. Overall I like maybe 30 minutes before which allows me to hit about 20 golf balls on the range. 5 or so minutes around the practice green then walk to the tee and be ready for my first tee shot. Nick_D
I'm a bit spoiled with a simulator setup in my garage, so I would normally take a few swings with a wedge, 7 iron, and driver before leaving the house. Then spend all my time at the course at the putting green. benb1989
I have a few putts, and a 5 or so quick swings with the driver whilst waiting by the first tee and I am good to go. For a while I tried doing a proper warm up on the range but there was no difference to my game, how I played or how I felt so I swapped it for a big breakfast and a cup of tea Quote , Driver, Mavrik Max 10.5*, Aldila rouge white 60, XS flex , 3 Wood, MX-700, S flex , 4 Hybrid, Mavrik Max, S flex , 5-PW 699 Pro, KBS Tour S flex , Wedges, Vokey, 52*, 56*, 60* , Putter, Stroke Lab Black #7 , Pro V1 Link to comment
hulkk531
Start with light cardio activities such as a few minutes on a stationary bike. Then perform dynamic stretches that target major muscle groups. Examples include arm circles, trunk rotations, hip swings, and lunges. Swing warm-up, putting and chipping, range session. Then I feel good. Quote Link to comment
Dweed
I hear ya. I usually get to the course and pay 45 min-an hour ahead. There isn't a range so I spend 20-30 min on the putting green and 15 min swinging my heaviest wedge easy like just to help stretch out. 10 min on toe touch es and knee and hip stretches just before walking over to the tee. ZackS
My main focus is putting to get a feel for speed. A few chips to see the firmness of the greens. Then I like to hit a few range balls just to warm up. When I was playing in tournaments my last range ball would hit whatever shot I am planning on the first tee. I found that helped me with first tee nerves as I could just tell myself to replicate what I had just done. JerryB
I find myself in your situation regularly. Not much to be done besides hoping for the best. I'll generally be able to take a few warmup swings with a weighted club and then a couple extra practice swings with whatever club I'm using on the first tee. Usually a breakfast ball if possible and needed. Shon89
I start with Stretching and cardio. If I have access to a range I will hit a few shots with there my even or odd numbered irons, hybrid, and last a limit of 5 drivers swings. Then to the chipping and putting green.Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Quote Jason Phillips Link to comment
russtopherb
I'll usually stretch before leaving the house if the drive is only a few mins. If there's no range, I make sure to have my Orange Whip with me to stretch/warm up, then I'll go putt and chip for a bit. tony@CIC
Stretch is real important for me - especially hamstrings - I may also use weighted rings but not consistently. I have the luxury of a range - there I'll start with a SW, then an 8 or 7 iron, followed by a hybrid on and off a tee then the driver, only about 1/2 balls for each. Then to the putting green for about a doz to get the speed right.
