GolfSpy_APH
No egos, what are the yardages for each of your clubs? Are you happy with how things are gapped out in your bag? Do you wish there was more consistency in certain areas and what if any changes could you be making soon to make for either better yardages or better gapping? Indy_Oz
Arccos data filtered for 'last 100 shots'. 5i and 2i was a very limited data set (only a few shots each) so they're both down on what I expect to hit them. Edit (now I have a little more time): in terms of changes, it's mainly a decision whether to keep the 2 iron in the bag and what to drop. It's more of an occasional club and stays home for comps for now. I may try different shafts in it. Shaft in 3W and 7W may also change as I strive for greater consistency and better feel. The irons are P790s (2019) and occasionally 'go big' with low spinning bombs, which is a bigger deal for the shorter irons. I like the long irons. I've switched PW to a P7MC with good success towards the end of the season. Much more predictable distance and I love the feel. With the 9iron I've overshot greens giving me carries well over 160yds on a smooth full shot and the old PW flew short greens a few times from par 3 tees. I now know the P790s (and other similar hollow bodies) can have this tendancy. Certainly the earlier model like mine. Even if it's a perception, I was losing confidence with the PW and I'm more confident with the change and the mental game is a big deal. Popular Post ParFore74x
Pulling yardages from 18 Birdies has given me the following numbers. Some clubs get used quite often which equates to their averages being more accurate to my expectations. Driver - 254 3W - 227 4H - 212 2 iron - 221 Used only for tee shots 5 iron - 180 - Not used much at all. Only had 10 shots recorded. 6 iron - 173 7 iron - 164 8 iron - 154 9 iron - 140 PW - 127 GW (49*) - 106 - This club is about 3/8" shorter than it should be which destroys confidence and it will be getting an extension during regripping this off season. Popular Post sirchunksalot
I pulled these from ShotScope from my last 4 rounds. I have a bit of clustering with the 4 and 5 hybrid but admittedly I'm not hitting the ball well right now. The 6 iron I've only hit once and I can't stop topping the 8 iron. I'm pretty happy with what the potential could be if I can strike the ball better, but I'm still not at 100%. I've lost about 8 yards from a combo of the cooler weather and not being able to go at it, but at least I know where my game is at right now. No3PuttLaLa
I’m pretty happy with my current gapping. I struggle with my 4 and 5i so switched to a sub 70 4H this year. Haven’t really needed to use it. That said, I need to get it figured out this offseason as I would love to have that 200-230 spot filled with 5i and 4H. Currently my 5i is only used as a punch out club. Thisway84
Overall I’m happy with my gapping. My 4i is skewed because it is my go to for hitting stingers out of trees . Generally I play my 4i from 190-200. My 3h is actually a 2h, just paired it incorrectly. That is typically a 205-220 club. I will be interested to see how this continues to change. I upgraded to new irons near the end of the season last year and I have been doing SuperSpeed training since Christmas. Hoping for better gapping and bigger numbers from the changes!Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk brogies and Rob Person 2 Quote Driver: Ping I25 9.5 degree stiff Wood: Ping I25 3 wood stiff Hybrid: Ping I15 3 Hybrid Stiff 4-W Irons: Ping i230 blue dot True Temper steel stiff elevate shafts +.5 Wedges: Cleveland CG15 52 degree 12 bounce Cleveland CG15 56 degree 14 bounce Cleveland CG15 58 degree 12 bounce Putter: Scotty Cameron Tryllium Newport
Shapotomous
If i havent lost any distance from last year this is where i am at. The only spot i struggle with in my gapping is when i am sitting at the 200 yard shot. I find it hard to lighten up the 18* and keep it on target and if i go after the 23* it just goes higher but not further.
