Alf. S Posted March 17 Share Posted March 17 A few years ago I went away with a group to Portugal to play golf. My wife was the only non-golfer. In the same hotel were a group of 10 from Glasgow. Every day we would leave for golf in the morning and my wife would laze by the pool. After a couple of days she got talking to 2 older gentlemen who hadn't gone golfing she asked "Do you not golf?" "No, haven't for years, but I haven't told my wife!" For 5 years he had pretended to play golf every Wednesday and Saturday, he would put his clubs in the car and disappear to the golf club for 6 hours. On the holiday he packed his clubs and then left them at his pals house, then continued on holiday without them for a week. Could you do this for a month never mind 5 years? Or maybe she knew and just pretended knowing it made him happy. Well all guys who golf are equipment 'hoes .. plus on occasion we need to reload our stock of golf balls .. and unless the old guy was really committed to the ruse.... My wife will come with me to sim rounds or to the range or even sometimes come to the course and just enjoys lunch and drinks but has 0 interest in golfing. And as ive told her, i cant lie that im not upset she doesnt want to golf with me. Shes hungout in the cart with me but thats it. I enjoy that ik she is there but i have a little bit of time away. She doesnt text me or call me when on the course unless she really needs me or something. I have buddies that their wifes will bon stop txt them all round long and its extremely annoying. cksurfdude 1 Quote Been playing for about 2 years in total. Winter breaks and a 6month period when I got sick. Starting to feel like myself again and recently played a “okay” round. I currently have custom fit Cobra LTDx irons/wedges, a Vokey 60(cause my short game has been the best part of my game, and a Maverick 9 deg. Driver.
