I recently replaced my 49.5 UW and 56 SW with those above as I intend to get a updated set of clubs soon and the new slightly stronger lofts will blend better to the new lofts for the PW and above

Love the Sub 70 wedges

I cycle between lofts and bounce depending on the course and conditions.  I keep my 56 in the bag consistently, with the 50 and 52 moving in and out of the bag, and the high bounce 60 thrown in for those fluffy bunkers we rarely get around the NorthWest, and also for the hard and fast greens in the desert.

I use 3 wedges in addition of a pitching wedge.  All my wedges are Miura 57 with True Temper Spinner shafts except for the pitching wedge.

- Lob wedge:  59°

- Standard wedge:  55°

- Gap wedge:  51°

- Pitching wedge:  47°

It is important that the loft between each wedge is the same (4 degrees).

I move my wedges in and out on what I'm doing. So 62,60,56,52,59 and 48. I carry only 4 during any given round.

Retired and loving it.  Golf has gotten better and moving out of the country.... to TEXAS.

Last year I got a set of New Level 902-PD OS Iron trying Recoil 95 F4 Graphites for the first time.  The lofts were lower than I was using and I had to reset my distances a little.  The PW is a 43 degree loft leading me to change my wedges, of course, based upon My Golf Spy reviews and recommendations.

So a few months ago, I found a Taylor Made MG4 48 degree Gap Wedge and also 2 "like new" MG3 54 degree and 60 degree wedges all with TT Dynamic Gold.

Using a monitor is showing  that I have a 14-15 yard "95% swing" delta across the 4 clubs.  While this the gap is large, I was fortunate to learn from the Short Game Chef how to use a 70% "chest-driven" swing with very narrow and wider stances and different levels "grip choke" to hit each club different carry distances.

This "new 2024 focus" on approach carry yards has been great and my confidence from 135 to 70 yards is growing.

My attitude is still a little bit drive for show and putt for dough.  But, now I mostly want to hit close approach shots for FUN. 😀

I play the set pitching wedge at 46* and then play a Cleveland cavity back 50* my skill wedges are Taylormade MG4 54* and 58*.  I swear by the 4* loft gap from the top to the bottom of my bag.  I rarely ever hit my 58* over fifty yards from the green, maybe 5 times a year, it is also my bunker club.

Yes i agree with the 4deg gap, in fact if I could get a nice set of forged irons that would work with 5deg difference I would love it.

5i 20

6i 25

7i 30

8i 35

9i 40

Pw 45

Gw 50

Sw 55

Lw 60

All these jacked lofts chasing distance. My 7i is 32 deg right now and I still hut it 175 yards. I don't need my 7i to go that far.

I am seriously going to start researching getting some nice mizuno forged cavity backs from back in the day and check the old school lofts

I've been playing the Vokey sm9 in 52°, 56°, and 60°. The biggest improvement I found was following mygolfspy's advice and chipping with my 52° over my 60°

Yes, I started using 52° for chipping a few months ago...getting better contact and distance control.

Right now I play with pxg sugar daddy wedges 50, 54, 58 with a gen5 T 48 degree gap wedge but for whatever reason I hit my 50 just as far as my 48. It is creating a big gap between my PW to my 50 an 48 so I'm going to need to find a solution for that quick.
