Irish-Assassin
Wow, Wow, Wow. For anyone that’s broke their phone, they get it and for the ones that haven’t, I don’t wish it for you. Finally my new phone fixed and back. So back to Shot Scope V5, this last round there was only one thing I needed to edit on the score card, so that’s an improvement on previous rounds, only issue was that it lost sync with phone and when I realized I was 69000 yards from the course. lol RohanVster, Bohnson, bama no 1 and 2 others 2 3 Quote Titleist TRS Driver, Titleist TSR 3 Wood, Titleist TRS 2 Hybrid, Titleist T300 irons, Vokey SM9 wedges 56 - 60, Scotty Cameron putter. Irish-Assassin
The course I was so far away from was called We-Ko-Pa Cholla Course, they have two and if you’re ever in AZ Scottsdale Area, I would recommend this course. From the driving range to the leather padded seats, staff members and how immaculate the course was. The Shot Scope did a better job this round, yes it lost sync with phone but I was able to add it from the data on the watch. But for me it’s the data that helps me the most, yes yardages are very important when playing but improving is the key thing with the data this Shot Scope gives. Not sure if this changed from last time I posted it. Immediate ball roll-back! I have run into a couple of errors while on the course with the X5, but not anything to the magnitude you saw. I changed holes and then changed back to the hole I was on and it resolved without having to restart the round. This is interesting though. Another, weird, item I have run up against several time is time zone synching. You would think that the watch pulls GPS to find the course nearest the player so the time/time zone would synch, but every time I start the watch and a round in another time zone, without having synched to my phone and the app first, the time remains aligned to the last time zone I was in when I synched to the app (e.g. I played last week in NC and synched my phone after the round, the watch displayed the local, EST time. Returned to the West Coast Monday morning and played Tuesday evening. When I turned the watch on it displayed east coast (EST) time, 3 hours ahead of local (PST) time . The time shown on the watch during the entire round was EST zone; after I synched the watch to my phone and the app to load the round, the watch updated to PST time. BUUUUTTTT....here's the kicker... even though the time displayed ON the watch face and at the top during the round was EST. StrokerAce
have any testers had to return their watch? my first watch - one of the buttons broke off and I had to return that one. my second watch - it would rarely sync and I couldn't download rounds to the app on a consistent basis so I had to return that one. Irish-Assassin
Battery life hasn’t been bad for myself, but I always charge it after a round, the first round it went down quickly but since then it’s been fine, now I’m no nuclear scientist but I’m wondering with temperatures throughout the year and test locations has any barring on battery life as I know some people have mentioned it’s gone down really quick. The syncing issues have been around since day one, some times it syncs immediately and some times it takes several times, at one point I had to sign out and back in to get it to work. One round wouldn’t edit and sync so after trying for about two hours to get it to work, I had to delete it and move on. Battery life has been excellent for me, I have walked 27 holes and it was over 50 % battery when I got home and plugged it in. I just got home from vacation and I played a couple days down there. One day I wore the watch on the course with tagging and gps, a slow 4 1/2 hour round and wore the watch as a watch the rest of the day and it wasn't dead when I took it off that night. bama no 1, Northern Monkey and Shrek74 3 Quote Jnr

I haven't had any issues with the buttons, but did have several issues syncing and downloading, but I deleted the app and reinstalled it on my phone and that seemed to fix my issues so I think they were more on the app end than the watch itself. The issue I have sometimes is that it takes it a while on my home course to find the gps and start the round. I didn't have that issue on vacation this past week. I only use the watch for stat tracking, keeping score, and F/M/B distance details from the main screen. I really never go in and mess with any of the other features (maybe one day I'll take the time to learn them all). So it surprises me how much variance there is in battery usage from round to round. My 5 courses are here within 5 miles of each other, so the GPS signal shouldn't really fluctuate that much I wouldn't think. I wrote the review up earlier in the ShotScope user thread. I'd have to look back, but I think I had the replacement in under a week. They were great helping me trouble shoot it and in the end, said, send it back and we will send you a replacement. Before that discussion I didn't realize the button sensor was in the watch band, rather than in the watch; I kind of wondered why they didn't send a replacement band, but A. they were great with the replacement, and B. now I know why we cannot just buy any old band and use it with this watch. One time I had 38% and was not able to make it through another round that day (makes sense since >50% was used on the first round). Playing in the Pacific Northwest between November and May and Florida during the same time frame I really didn't notice any difference in battery performance in either location. I think the best number I have seen after 18 holes is 43% or 48%. I may have to start tracking that data. I wonder if there is a "Stroke Gained" measurement for Battery Life percentage remaining between handicap zones Folks please understand, I realize the percentage of golfers that will play 36 holes on one given day probably pretty small, but the idea is that you can have a bit extra in the tank for when the watch turns on because the button got bumped, or the "UH-OH! Forgot to charge last night. But at least I can still get that second weekend round in because I know the battery has extra in it." I play in a few tournaments annually that are same day, 36-hole events. The PAT was one event where it would have been nice if the watch had made it all 36-holes. The other side of it goes back to what I mentioned earlier and I'll call reserve power. I went down to play a tournament on an unfamiliar course. I arrived 2-hours early and turned the watch on, in watch mode, when I got there while I was pitching, putting, and warming up (again, 2-hours before a tournament, not 4 hours or the night before) the watch was done before #18 (I think it made it through 15 holes). Consequently, I never turn the watch on, in any mode, before getting ready to tee off. What kind of kills me about that is that my Fenix 3, and Fenix 6 could go through an IM race and still have days of batter life left for not all that much of a size difference (well, okay maybe the Fenix are a tad bit larger). The point is, that I can golf multiple rounds with my Fenix 6, run every day in the same week, and record a couple of HIIT workouts before I need to charge it. Yes, the Fenix is larger and heavier, but It seems to me that there is a balance between the two that would be attractive to everyone who uses it; I can put ONE watch on when I leave the house, activate it for the round, upload the data, and come back home after dinner before having to put it on the charger. I guess the silver lining is that when I get home really late, with brew on my breath, I can honestly say, "But honey, how was I supposed to know it was getting so late? Look. My watch died." bama no 1, Northern Monkey and RohanVster 1 2 Quote Driver - Ping G400 9°, Project-X Evenflow Black 6.0S 65 gr. Just strange. Wow yeah that's really strange...only reason I'm fiddling about during a round is to test it to the max, to confirm the accuracy. When I use my Garmin I hardly ever change pin location, I always just play (or try to) towards the middle of the green. The courses I play are about say +-35km (21.748miles) from each other but 2 of my rounds was on the same course. Must be something with the satellites then. I've done everything I can think of - uninstalled/reinstalled the app, reset the watch, reset the Bluetooth, etc. really hoping the 3rd one works out because I love using the watch and caught myself looking at my wrist a few times and forgetting it wasn't there. Really hope the same for you bud, it's awesome to get your distances right from your wrist, helps so much if you know your distances with your irons as well, also a big pro from using the Shot Scope V5 getting all your averages from all the clubs used StrokerAce, bama no 1, Bohnson and 1 other 4 Quote Driver : Rogue ST MAX LS Driver 3 Hybrid : APEX'21 3H 5 Wood : Rogue ST MAX LS Irons : APEX'21 5-PW Irons Wedges : JAWS 56 Putter : 2-ball Balls : Callaway Chrome Soft OR AD 333 Completed tests : Shot Scope V5
