I was surprised by the way they bend the irons for loft and lie.  For some reason, I thought it was a totally automated process.

This was so cool particularly since I just ordered a set of irons from Ping.  I was also surprised at how labor intense the process is.  I would have thought that they had the lofts and lies on the irons premade and that they were picked from bins by color. I know that all started out as black dots back in the day but never suspected that was still the case.

What I find interesting is that the employees work each or individually or maybe because this was a rush order, we only saw his order being completed. Having seen this, I think their is some work that can be automated but some that just needs a human to grind and blow out dirt or to perfectly weigh each item.
