Played a round today with a regular partner, and we were paired up with another twosome we haven't played with before.

Weather here was another picture-perfect day, although we really need some rain, as the ground is very dry and hard, although the fairways had increased roll due to this.

A tale of 2 nines, as we followed a fivesome, although they did not hold up the course too bad on the front. I played extremely well on the front, but the back nine approach shots were purposely hit short to keep pace of play moving, as the fivesome was also being held up by a slower group in front of them.

Best shots of the day for me came on the same hole, a 350 yard par 4. Long drive of 292 yards, aided by some roll, and then a pitch from 48 yards to the flag to 3 feet, and made the birdie putt.

Short game saved me some strokes on my missed GIR's, so all in all a good day for me.

Oh my goodness, what a day. I'll have pics to post after going through them (they're on my main camera, not my phone).  We celebrated by buddy's birthday by playing a truly stunning links course out by the ocean in Ventura, CA, joined by @Billy The Kid Rogers and @Syks7

I shot a 77, going even-par on the front 9, got into a bit of sloppiness to start the back (+4 thru first 3 on that side), but pulled it together and even birdied the 18th par 5.

But the (!) moment of the day came on the third hole. Hit an absolute peach of a drive, not hugely long (250-ish), but perfectly placed and I had 104 to the pin. I hit my (overly-practiced, maybe) 3/4 48° 100-yard shot, which arced slightly right-to-left, landed 4 feet from the pin, bounced once, and disappeared into the hole for an eagle (my third ever) and a net-albatross!

I acted like I was on a Good Good video and started running around and high-fiving everyone.

Easily one of the (if not THE) best moments I've ever had on the golf course.

Anyway, I also managed to net-birdie 5 of the 8 holes I got a stroke on, which was pretty incredible.

All-in-all, a spectacular day on the (literal) links.
