Can the velour be turned inside out to allow it to dry better?

NO!  I forgot to mention, it is sewn in along one of the seams so it cannot be pulled up out of the PU Leather or even the zipper closure.

Great question!!! 🎉

So, I finished the round in 3 hours.  Played a bit of speed golf to get some exercise and put Mav and the pushcart through their paces.  They both passed with flying colors! I did slow down to get some solid bunker practice since there wasn’t anyone behind me.  Boy did I need that!

Anyway, while I was strolling along one of the same holes from yesterday… yea, this one

IMG_8237.jpeg.cdec64479698a38fcf1cb839ab1ce8a2.jpeg

I was thinking about the water getting into @EasyPutter ‘valuables’ pockets.  I planned on going home and trying to duplicate the problem.  The reason being, I can see if my bag does the same thing (I have no doubts it would) and to see how long it would take to air dry.  By the time I reached my ball after the drive I decided not to do that.  Now, if anyone out there would prefer I test Mav regarding the water leakage issue I will.  Just let me know.

On another note, I will not be able to play any golf until next weekend.  Working all this weekend, vacation next week.  There is no golf on the Bourbon Trail and the Mrs would break all my clubs if I tried.  That was one reason I was willing to try the water test.  I could let the bag dry and not be worried if I needed to play a round.  Either way, I am willing to do the test.  Just let me know.

I have had the pockets open now for 2 days and they are less wet but damp is the current condition.  The umbrellas dry in the garage in an hour or two, shoes will dry overnight.  The "valuables" pockets are still damp and I am considering how to insert something like cut off water bottles to make hollow cylinders without ends to increase the air flow into/out of the velour pockets.

Hopefully they will be dry before tomorrow's round when I would like to begin the adventure with all pockets zipped closed!

If I do the water test I was thinking of using a couple of sticks, cut off pencils, or something similar to prop open the pouches for air drying.  This brings up another possible concern; will the pouch form around the props/sticks and maintain that shape?

two days is a long time for that to dry.  Having to use an airdryer or run a fan by the bag to dry those pockets is a hassle that should not exist.  With that said, desiccant, maybe try dry white rice wrapped in a paper towel stuffed in the pouch, I don't what would expedite the dry time with out using electricity.  Dissapointing issue.

Thanks for Dan @Medfloat and Jason @Shrek74 for inspiring me to move forward with the drying idea I had yesterday and decided to see what another night would do for the unzipped pockets drying their pocket linings.

I have had issues with the liners of the vessel pockets too.

But two days seems crazy!! when I go through a rain soaking I always empty the entire bag and leave the fan running on it in the garage.

I played in the mud last week with the push cart. The bag got muddy but easily wiped off.

@Medfloat i have to say, Esthetically,  the cart and bag are almost indistinguishable!  Looks really sharp!

Do NOT put rice inside velour! The grit from loose grains will embed itself, and no amount of vacuuming it out will eradicate it all!  Even if wrapped in a paper towel!

The rice is not put in the pouch freely, it is inside a wicking material like a paper towel.  That keeps the rice contained but not stopped from absorbing the moisture. Plus, the rice would not get wet enough so the starches leach out. Just thinking of non-electric options.

Today's test is the results of the wetness experiment that began early this week.  Recap is, the pockets were for the most part highly water resistant with protected zippers, except for the valuables pockets in the middle of the side pockets which were soaked and lack the same kind of water protected zippers. Yesterday as posted, after 2 days drying the two middle velour/velvety pockets were still quite wet and I had fashioned tubes to hold the pockets open and allow air circulation.

PXL_20241010_215645014.jpg.80d30d8345ead9dbbacf65b48be85bfe.jpg
From yesterday's post, plastic tubes holding open velvet/velour pockets for drying.  Today those pockets were completely dry.

Today after the bag had been undisturbed in the garage for 18 hours with the open cylinders in place, the pockets were as dry as they could possibly be.  Perhaps such a simple device as a cut plastic bottle would be helpful for other similar ventilation needs.

PXL_20241011_190618643.jpg.bd5e091c7f4cffb56dbbbcae26b6b845.jpg
The side pockets are seen here all unzipped.

PXL_20241011_190624170.jpg.38e2fe3a852a1cec014d45f91d6dff6a.jpg
It is easy to see how naturally closed the side pockets are as they are all unzipped so having something to hold them open to dry the insides really is essential.

Pockets dry arriving at the golf course with Jim @The1C3man, pockets were checked and verified then zipped up for the round making the Ghost Golf GT-14 Oreo Cart Bag look sleek and sharp.PXL_20241011_191201240_MP.jpg.b912dacd5d7d856d5a6683b41135ffeb.jpg
Zipped up pockets ready to head out to the course in style.

There might be something to having a good looking golf bag on the push cart as for the first time in ages the scorecard had 3 pars on the front 9 and since paying attention to having the putter grip oriented for the flattest side to the back of the putter well, it stayed in it's own sleeve and was easy to slide in and out of it's own sleeve on the front of the bag.  All the other clubs were also well behaved and slid in and out of their sleeves with ease.

PXL_20241011_205102905.jpg.62e55dc7ce4faa673530ffceeebcf8b0.jpg
Trees are starting to change adding to the color in the photograph.

A fine day for golf indeed in Western NY.  It is making a big difference to me having this quality Ghost Golf GT-14 Cart Bag on my push cart.  The difference is similar to what it was like moving from an entry level vehicle to one designed for comfort for sound, appearance, ride on the same surfaces as before, and comfort/care of what goes inside for the journey ⛳

having the putter grip oriented for the flattest side to the back of the putter well, it stayed in it's own sleeve and was easy to slide in and out of it's own sleeve on the front of the bag.

This is the trick for any oversized grip.

Really wanted to get out today, but no courses are open in the area. Monday is the earliest. Xfinity made the repairs and internet and television service came beck on last night. I'm sure the area will not feel normal for quite some time, but every little thing is a victory for many of our residents at this point. There are many without power and the crews are working very hard.

After seeing other reports of moisture, I did check the valuables pocket from last weeks 4 hole drenching. It was still damp and had a musty smell. I sprayed it with Odo-ban and have stuffed it full of towels.

Incredible recovery shots are set up by an equally incredible miss.

That Odo-ban is some good stuff.  Hopefully, Ghost makes a design change in the future for those pockets to avoid the water issue.

I highly recommend making the plastic cylinders to hold the pockets open to dry them out.

Worked well without applying a hairdryer or fan to the cause.

Any issue with the pocket forming around the Arnold Palmer plastics? Did the pocket return to original shape?

No issues at all, bottle cylinder removed and it went right back into shape.  The pocket is so much longer than the bottle diameter that it's not stressed at all with it in there holding it open.

Those are now tools and I'm keeping them as essential maintenance equipment.

9th hole chip-on to 5 feet past the cup - nearly a birdie rolling up the green.  This was where the 173 yard tee shot was hit onto green for a 1 putt par.  3 pars for the day for this Bogie Golfer so you know I was enjoying the evening that followed.

I noticed on this round how quiet and smooth the experience was pushing the Ghost Golf GT-14 Oreo Cart Bag was on my 6 year old Clicgear 3.5+ push cart.  It is the 4th cart bag I have had on the push cart and it is the quietest.  I have no club clatter while walking up the fairways like I remember was experienced with all the other cart bags on this push cart.

My arrangement of clubs is similar to the suggested arrangement on the cardboard fastened to the top when it was unboxed on Day 1.  Putter in the putter well, driver and big dogs in the row behind and irons in descending shaft length order to wedges in the "back" by the carry strap.

Awesome round and great pics.  I've been playing around with my setup recently and think I've found a good setup for cart and push cart setup without rearranging.

Early on in the testing I did the same thing. The Ghost has this card with a setup suggestion, hang on...yep here it is...IMG_0061.jpeg.232840e9db8214f548d980d9b54d4959.jpeg

so I went with it.  I began with the setup on my push-cart in the back yard, then tried it with the bag standing up in the garage.  I quickly realized the suggested setup would have me reaching over or around the taller clubs in the front when the bag is in the motor-cart.  I decided to flip the arraingment and haven't changed it back since.  When I put the bag back on the push-cart I had no issues, such as grips entangling.  Now that I have had it for  few weeks, I have adjusted to the change in club arraingment and almost,  ALMOST grab the correct club without looking...almost.

Here is my bag setup in comparisson to the chart...

That is pretty close to how I have my Ghost stand bag for the driving cart but I do understand the setup for a push cart and the logic they have behind it.

Stays neat and orderly.  Like all my tool boxes, if you take a tool out put it back where you got it!i

Love that they offer a chart recommendation!

Awesome round and great pics.  I've been playing around with my setup recently and think I've found a good setup for cart and push cart setup without rearranging.

I used to have a different arrangement for my C130 and was expecting the same kind of need with the GT-14 but to my pleasant surprise it has not been necessary.  Such a relief to me to not have to swap clubs front to back depending on what cart the bag is loaded onto.

Early on in the testing I did the same thing. The Ghost has this card with a setup suggestion, hang on...yep here it is...IMG_0061.jpeg.232840e9db8214f548d980d9b54d4959.jpeg

Good that it is working for you and reminds me how I took an image capture of the SM C130 page and made a PowerPoint file to log where I was putting what clubs.  Have not done that with the GT-14 (yet) but I am sure as the no outdoor golf months take hold such enterprises will ensue.

Cold weather test today, 44⁰F/6.6⁰C at tee time, just after the overnight and morning rain passed before 11 am.  Breeze made woolen cap, multiple layers, coat and gloves a necessity and mine was the only vehicle in the parking lot.

Well loaded cart and bag for this cold weather test.

Coat and gloves off for every swing until sun and walking effort heated the body enough to keep warm with just hat.  Played well and the Ghost Golf GT-14 Oreo Cart Bag performed well in every way possible.  Cart was well loaded with extra bag to carry coat, extra rain gear, extra water bottles, all intended to push the limits.  The bag really will handle a lot of gear,

Must-have snacks for the Oreo Cart Bag.

It warmed up to 48⁰F by the end of 9 holes.

The fabric, zippers, closures, and bag features all worked well at temperatures around 10⁰C and in my appreciation not differently than at the highest temperatures of the test approaching 30⁰C (86⁰F)

Played in the rain yesterday! Here are my pros and cons to consider when using it in a golf cart during rainy conditions.

Pros:

Water-Resistant Design: Not fully waterproof, was solid in the light to moderate rain. 14-Way Divider: kept my clubs organized and easy to access. Zero tangling and minimized the hassle of dealing with wet grips. Magnetic Pockets: magnetic pockets that are easy to open and close quickly Was a huge plus to keep rain off of my range finder. No struggle with zippers. Ample Storage: Plenty of pockets for rain gear, towels, and extra gloves. My gear was dry. Good Stability: The bag stayed secure and doesn't move around too much on the cart.

Cons:

Limited Waterproofing: While the bag is water-resistant, it’s not fully waterproof. Evidence from the other testers. In heavy rain, water may seep into pockets or through the seams, meaning you might still need a rain cover for better protection. Most carts have a rain cover. I know you can get a clic gear full bag cover if you’re playing on a rainy day with the push cart. Exposed Club Tops: Like most cart bags, clubs are exposed in the rain, leaving clubs vulnerable to getting wet unless you use the rain hood that comes with it. Wet Gear Management: the bag itself doesn’t seem to have built-in waterproof sections for particularly sensitive items like phones or wallets, so you’ll need to ensure you use a separate dry pouch or case for electronics and valuables during heavy rain.

The Bag performed well in light rain and is very functional when riding in a cart. Great organization, magnetic pockets, and water-resistant materials. In heavier rain, as my fellow testers alluded to you may need to take extra precautions, such as using a rain cover for full protection.
