You guys seem to have them all covered. Ebay and BSTs for me mostly. Rockbottom occasionally just because they have the cheapest international shipping in the world.

I have a revolving WITB policy.

3balls.com is more popular than I thought, I think they are actually based about 45 min away from me. Easton, MA I believe.

I really like them. Good deals and their stuff is always as advertised. Big eBay seller though and I know your lack of love for the Bay. ;)

For me, only Callaway or Callaway Preowned. I buy all of my other stuff...shoes..clothes etc at my home course. I never buy on ebay or any internet auction site. Way too many counterfeits out there for me.

The Golf Warehouse and Rock Bottom Golf, both fill different niches and both offer the best prices, selection and ease of us through their web site.

Depends on what I'm buying.

  • Got my original I-MIX setup from Callawaygolfpreowned.

  • I've gotten a few awesome deals on shafts (both I-MIX and pulls) on the GolfWRX forums (of course most stuff there is X-stiff there because everyone has a 120+ MPH swingspeed...or so they say).

  • 3balls (just over the border in MA) when I want something next day and don't want to pay for next day shipping.

  • Ebay for grips and the occasional club.

  • TGW.com for most everything else (although occasionally I will order from Golfsmith).

  • When we need tools for the workshop, it's Mitchellgolf.com and pretty much nowhere else.

Golfsmith customer service sucks ... period. They've mucked up 2 consecutive orders I placed with them - over the phone, no less.

I have ordered grips from them with no issue. Only way to get itomics.

OK Moe, I am off the Golfsmith

I remembered a situation with them when I called CS to ask about a PING G2 Tess that they had listed as used. No length listed, not dot color. Three available. Guy couldn't tell me what the specs were because the putters were in the local shops. "Well one is in Michigan..."

Didn't order.

Now I will also not make the drive to Walnut Creek as I have sort of thought about from time to time...

I just went on their wedsite, and their slogan is: "When it comes to golf, we don't have our heads in the sand!"

Then I saw their logo and I wanted to stick my head in the sand.

Mostly gppgolf.com, but I'm keeping my eye on those deal sites that were listed on the forum.

very good plan

if you are patient and hunt around a bit (new web design makes finding cheap stuff harder)

you can find great deals

Feb/March is always the time to buy balls from them

What's the beef with Golfsmith, Moe? Not that I'm a fan, AT ALL, just curious if you have a specific story to share with us.

Two botched orders and dealing with their "customer service" on the phone. Not some call center in Bangladesh, mind you, but here in good old Austin, TX USA. I think they're clueless about their inventory and don't have a grasp of what it means to deal with clients. I was finally able to get my money back in both cases, but they were teeth-pulling experiences and time lost that I'll never be able to recover. Shame on me if I go back to them.

Gotcha. I've always found their customer service in the store to be atrocious, but they've never given me problems on returns. All things being equal, I prefer GG - more knowledgeable, friendly staff.
