I've never seen a green book before the picture above, and I feel I'd spend too much time trying to decipher them. I'm sure there's a skill to reading greens, and I'm by no means an expert since I'm not the best putter. Before making the decision, and I could care either way, maybe test out a couple of different tournaments, and measure time spent on greens, putting stats, etc to make a more informed decision. Have any of the top putters piped up on this, or are they quiet since they need/like the green reading books?

NOt sure how many get in this, but if I'm top 200, that'll be a good one for me

I've seen pictures of the rough, and it looks imposing. A Fred Funk type straight hitter probably isn't in the field, so I'm looking for one of the longer hitters to step up, since they may have a much shorter iron into greens out of the rough. Webb Simpson could be a "shorter", straighter hitter and could possibly win his second US Open. I'd like to see how Wilco handles this course. Was Bryson at home trying to see how he could hit as far as this kid? Probably not. If Rahm could hit like he was before unfortunately being forced to bow out at Memorial, then this may be his major to win.

I think I need a golf trip, just to get away and smoke some nice cigars. This set up looks pretty sweet

IT analyst for a hospital system back at home. Thankfully they let me move to Pinehurst and keep my job since I work from home.

I wear 12 or 11.5 Extra fat foot. I finally found an acceptable pair to replace my 10 year old pair. I kind of get the concern finding shoes, but I'm not willing to spend over $100.

Interesting video on the subject
I have a naturally middle length thumb. It's an interesting topic however, and I like this video.

I've been picking Thomas and Morikawa for a few weeks now. Hopefully one of them pull through. It'll be interesting to see who handles the changes Jack made to the course.

Whenever I come home saying I'm not playing to what I think I should, my wife says to 1. have fun, and 2. maybe if you got to a healthier weight. This isn't to be mean. I say it all the time, and hadn't been doing anything about it. About 40 lbs from my goal. We'll see how the game improves through the process. 190 will feel better than 231.

I was gonna ask about the taylormade mini. I want one now. Not to say I could hit it, although it would remind me of my older clubs

I'm looking forward to tons of wind with short drives into it, and bombs down wind. 7800-7900 yards is insane, and I'd love to try to break 95 in it

I honestly miss my massive banana slice. This hook, pull hook, isn't fun, and I've had it for over 20 years. I'm happy slapping my 10 year old driver out there 250-260 with a fade...when it works out that way.

I've really started enjoying Maude, Finch, and Cogorno's stuff. Scratch Golf Academy isn't bad and Clay Ballard is good as well. Paul Wilson reminds me of a golf pro I worked with in college. My favorite to watch right now, if you're into Stack and Tilt is Saguto. He's rather intense

I agree with Ricky Bobby. If you haven't, check out Skillest. It asks some questions, and helps you find pros based on your answers. If you can find something to compete with that, and provide something extra you may have something.

Favorite hole I've played (sucker for par 3's no matter the outcome)
230 from the tips, 200 ft drop, 7 iron to the green. Something about seeing the ball take 5 minutes to land..
Hole I want to play (besides the one @Headhammer posted)
Great first pic. Very similar to the 11th at Sugarloaf in Maine

Spieth is a good pick since he's already won once in Texas. It'll be interesting to see how Koepka reads greens. Not sure he even needs to play this week leading into the PGA if his knee is still iffy. Rickie, what can I say, needs to figure it out. I'm one to talk since I can't figure out my own personal miniscule issues and I only play 9 holes every 1-2 weeks. I'd love a strong showing form Camillo Villegas.

Currently I get in my car and immediately after the round and start watching videos on Lag, early release, and anything to fix my pull hook. After watching 3-4 videos I head home and take half swings with a wedge in my office. Then I tell my wife I am quitting for a while. 3 days later I set a tee time for when our daughter naps and start the cycle over Again.

My old local muni had some chart based on Driver distance matching the USGA's Tee it forward program. It's a good starting point. Following this, I should've played the back tees at that course, but I didn't because I was just happy to get out and play, so I played the next tee up. If you aren't too keen on a score for handicap, you could just play different tees based on the hole, as I'm not sure how ratings change when the tees aren't consistent.

Is it the 52 club twirls before he hits a shot, that can get to me too when watching him.
He is now what Sergio used to be with is 51 waggles

should the pats have tried to trade up for fields? I'm not sure. Even four slots and the bears could've asked for too much. I'm happy Bill didn't trade his first 7 picks for fourth rounders in the next 5 years and an undersized LB

My experience is lacking compared to most of the courses here, but I once played a private course in Maine call the Woodlands. Course and slope are 73.9/145 from the back tees, which is where we played from. I was 17, so I can't remember that far back, but I believe my 9 handicap at the time shot a 90 or higher.

I've almost always played as a single. Growing up, I was one of the only kids at the course and most of the old guys just got angry that I was even there. It was easier to ball hunt back then too. Since we've moved to Pinehurst 6 months ago I just play at little ole Midland Country Club 9 holer by myself, since I don't have anyone to play with. The only people around here I know are CCNC members, and they have their own groups. Plus, I can't afford that place. I will say, I typically play better when paired up with people. I kind of focus more. I do use single golf to practice a little, or have conversations with myself about the struggles in my game.
