I stopped signing up for the things I didn’t think I was a good fit for, but this would be an awesome opportunity. I’m currently trying to unofficially trying the Stargrips and I’m seeing the testing process is not as easy as just getting free stuff but I would love the challenge for this one!!!
Yeah, it's for real not "easy," but it IS worth it. Definetely check out our "How to be a Tester" article which 100% breaks down how we choose our incredible testers. You've already got the profile photo (step 1). I can't stress enough that just involving yourself into a couple of threads every day and we (the forum staff) will take notice. And seriously, submitting on only the tests you're interested in (vs. applying for every test) goes a really long way with us (who pick our testers).
Keep it up! And happy to have you!!

@GolfSpy SAM Thanks for your feedback. Does your 14-way truly have full-length dividers? I have seen most just divide at top and inside my have 4-6 pockets. So I will encounter the same issues I currently have with clubs interfering at the bottom of the bag in my current 4-way. They move all around within the pockets as well and had second thoughts after purchasing my bag late last year. I have been putting my money in club upgrades for now and just need to suck it up for now with current bag choice. Thanks again.

Has anyone gone from 4/6/7 to a 14-way bag? Worth the change for organization? Is the weight a noticeable difference?
I went from a 5-way Jones bag (lots to love there) to a 14-way Ghost, and I'm not sure I'll ever go back to a 5-way ever again. It's night-and-day easier to pull clubs and to put them back. Granted, the Ghost is exceptionally well-built, and they've done every little thing well (zipper and pulls are the best I've ever seen), so it's possible a 14-way top on a different brand may not be as quality, but so far, this thing is incredible. As for weight, the bag itself is 6.5 pounds, which honestly doesn't feel any heavier (to me) than the 4-ish pound Jones bag - I guess if I was carrying all 18, that would start to make a difference, but as I use a push-cart when walking, the difference is effectively zero, and the plusses of the 14-way top just far FAR 'outweigh" (see what I did there?) the small weight differential.

Oh boy, this test in particular makes me wish I had put more work into making myself an excellent candidate to be a tester.
I'd love to be selected, especially since I think the DF3 could potentially really help my putting (40 putts on Saturday after hitting 7 GIR ), but it's a competitive pool for such a desirable test.
Good luck everyone!
Honestly, I had the same realization about 3 years ago, and it was a great moment for me. I remember reading the "how to be a tester" guide and thinking "oh...that's actually not THAT much to do. Why haven't I done that already?" and then next year I was picked for my first test (coincidentally, the LAB I'm still gaming).
I was already lurking on the site, so it just made sense to start getting involved. And for real - it's been an AWESOME decision. I've got a whole community here I had no idea was this great - so much so that I'm going to the Outing this year to embarrass myself in public! I mean...that says it all, doesn't it?
Happy to have you here - definitely keep up the posting - there are some genuinely fun threads to get involved with, and once you do (especially the Good Morning thread or the Club Ho's thread), you'll be checking it every day I think our new slogan should be something like, "MyGolfSpy Forum: it's like meth, but safer. Not less expensive, mind you, but...your teeth mostly stay in place." It's a bit wordy - I'll try and run that by our HR team. lol

As a tester from '22, and a FIRM believer that the DF2.1 has completely changed my putting game, I would highly, strongly, other-words-that-mean-the-same thing encourage any/all of you to submit a video to L.A.B. for the online fitting - even just as an experiment. It's free, and once the recommendation comes in, you'll be able to take those measurements and see if one of the floor-samples has the same set-up. The technology really IS built to your specs, so if you're (like me) a lie-angle of 65-degrees, and you're in the store rolling a 70-degree model, you might find yourself too upright and uncomfortable.
Just some food for thought for those of you applying/considering a L.A.B.!

As it happened, I was out driving around this afternoon, turned into a local golf shop on a whim (the same shop that did my fitting two years ago) and to my surprise they had a DF3 in stock. So of course I had to try it out. Their putting area has a ridiculous amount of break for an allegedly flat carpeted floor, but I made my fair share of 15-footers once I figured out that everything broke toward the front door. Not sure they're set up for LAB fitting though, and I certainly would want to take advantage of that if I were going to pay that much for a putter. Or if I were going to test it for MGS for that matter.
Honestly, considering that LAB really doesn't DO fittings other than online, and that the recommend their customers go through that process (all testers for the last two iterations of this test have done so as well), I'm willing to believe in their video-fit system. I can totally understand your hesitation, but as the video fitting is PART of the testing (does it actually work for YOU), I'd say it's all fair game when it comes to the testers.

Would have loved to be involved but timing just sucks. I'm leaving for 3 weeks in AL to visit relatives and do some golfing. Would have been a perfect time but alas, obvious timing just won't work. Once back to MI in March it will be another 3 weeks before courses start to open. Now I'm in a huge quandary. I was going to buy 2 doz of Maxfli before heading south but now I'm wondering if I need to wait until the results of the testing are published???? I love ya Maxfli but you're screwin with my head!!! Anyone know, are these commercially avail now??
While I was lamenting on timing, I forgot the most important thing. Good luck to all y'all on this opportunity and to the lucky 10 congratulations. I'm really looking forward to hearing your results. The obvious hit me in the face while I'm looking out the window at a 6+ inch fresh fall this AM. I'm going to AL to golf in less to 2 weeks....
My understanding is that the ball is the same as the current model (2023), just with a new alignment feature. As a big fan of the 2023 models (both Tour and Tour X), I would HIGHLY recommend getting some for the trip. You could always just draw an arrow on the ones you buy

What an awesome, AWESOME opportunity! Man, that F-3 is ... really, really good-looking (stay in your lane, Swanson! Don't do it!)

Love having you on the forum, and thanks for making this happen! We're psyched to see what the testers think of the ball in action!

I didn’t see this model in the pictures I was looking at to choose which model I prefer. I chose the style 11 but would have chosen this one to compare against my spider gt notchback!
If you want, I'll see if I can update your entry - would love to see this get tested just so I can take a visit to wherever you live and
stealtry it. Ahem. Let me know- TJ Hall, unccross and sirchunksalot

These things are just so, so beautiful. Good luck to the applicants - I'll be following along closely, secretly hoping they're not as good as they have to be, so I don't feel like I need to try them

So excited to have @Caley coming on board for their first test with us! I've seen their stuff on James Robinson's YouTube, so very excited to see what everyone thinks and how they perform. I think the 01T's are just about perfect-looking, from a shelf-appeal standpoint, so can't wait to see how they perform for everyone.
Good luck to the testers!

Anyone looking for a bag with a super subtle "Slippy Slappy GolfSpy SAMsonite" on it? I've decided I'm going to just carry my clubs in my arms from now on - Better workout.
Thrilled to get this thing in!!!!
Thanks again for organizing, Bryan!

Curious how all our testers are still getting along with their L.A.B. Putters? Personally, I’m starting to have a stretch of distance control issues with my DF 2.1. I just can’t seem to feel distance with it. Either miles short or miles long. Probably more me than the putter, as there are some days I drain lots of putts from 8-12ft with it.
I had a day two outings ago where I could not, for the life of me, judge the speed on the greens - same thing, either WAY short or comically long. It was...a very frustrating day. The next day out, I couldn't seem to miss distance-wise - made 7 or 8 2nd-putts inside 6" from putts outside 15', so...not sure why one day was so drastically different, but it could be I just didn't have a ton of time to practice putting before the round? The one good spot of news from that day - my lines were REALLY close, lol - I had three lip-outs along with 3 that burned the edge (but then traveled about 12' past...ugh).
For that most-recent outing, I will say I went back to really simplifying my thought process and just "feeling" the length - significant improvement.
I know this is ultimately unhelpful info, lol, but ... bad days are bound to happen(?).

The downside of living on the west coast is walking up to post on this thread and it already being five pages deep!!
i hit this in a fitting and absolutely LOVED it - it got squeaked by the TSR-2, but I’d have loved to try the X which wasn’t in stock at the time.
Eager to see how the testers like them!!

Yes, the little text preview thing on the site doesn't allow the underscore... and it will only show 10 characters per line, so if I add a space is moved BOS to the second line. BUT I am told that we'll be able to fit the usernames in full on one line. The font will just be smaller. That's one of the things I'm triple checking here too.
Looks like there's a character limit - that's set in stone, right? (cursing under breath as "Slippy Slappy GolfSpy_SAMsonite" no longer works..."WHY CAN'T I HAVE NICE THINGS??????" (yelled to the heavens))

Hah! Yeah, we had a weird snafu with the newsletter this morning - we have two tests going, the Vokeys (you can read and apply by clicking the link below), and the Stix - apparently our newsletter decided to be a bit of a tease and highlight one over the other Anyway, it's a good problem to have, in the long run, multiple tests at the same time!
