My office at the time was about 2 miles away. At the time Top Golf was more about the actual practice and competition versus the entertainment aspect of it. So even in good weather, I'd go there at least once or twice a week for an extended lunch, as there was really no other practice facility around. It wasn't the cheapest way to practice and I certainly didn't hit 100 balls...ha but usually had 3 or so games which I think consisted of like 20 shots at the time. there is one of the new ones opening up near us in Baltimore in the next 12 months I believe. I'll check it out at some point just to see, but I know it's not near the same model it used to be. cnosil
A practice facility that close? I may have to relocateSent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpyI personally wouldn’t consider top golf a practice facility. I think they are more of an entertainment/bar/restaurant model that happens to also have a driving range. I know the one about 30 minutes from me is too crowded all year and cost prohibitive for actual practice. I think he may have been referring to my comment about my practice facility being 80 yards from my desk. But I agree completely about Top Golf, in the original concept it was part practice and part entertainment. Now I'd say it's 100% entertainment, and that's ok, if it' brings new people to the game. I play there a couple of times a year with our men's group, most recently I found it a bit run down. I believe the entire resort (which probably hasn't been updated in years) is on the market. The preferred public course in the area is Thunderbird. The north course has narrower tree lined fairways, the south course is wide open. Both are very well maintained.
