Interesting that they're marketing a heel shafted putter as being game-improvement

Hello Moecat,

We appreciate your comments. Actually, we are not promoting the heel shaft as being game-improvement. The putter has several features that in combination with a heel shaft can help some golfers. (we are under 0 illusion of being able to help the majority of golfers as each putter on the market caters to a specific niche)

Our putter was designed to replicate as best as possible the feel and action of a sand wedge when you belly the ball, resulting in that great roll. To replicate that feel requires a few functions such as:

A. When you open the face of a wedge you actually create a scenario where more mass is behind the point of impact and in fact raise the center of gravity; so this would be necessary in a putter as well. This is why the top of our club carries more mass than the sole.

B. A putter would need to be toe heavy like a wedge.

C. A putter would need to impact the ball at the equator

D. A putter would need to be heel shafted with an iron-like hosel to encourage the same movement of the clubhead along the putting arc.

At present, we are the only putter on the market that we know of that has combined all of these qualites.

We have had great response here at the Orlando PGA show. Like any putter we have people who rave about it, some people can't wrap their minds around the shape and say we are crazy and some people walk away unsure what they think! If we are able to help some people who have lost their feel, or are looking for something else besides the many copycats on the market; then we've accomplished our goal.

Grandiose claims are a dime a dozen as you well know, but that is the marketing game. If someone puts the Redemption through several tests (short/long putts, fast/slow, from the fringe, long links style putts) and it can't perform for them, then of course they need to try something different. That is what makes golf the great sport it is,---hope springs eternal!

The redemption would not be the best choice for someone who prefers a face balanced putter. For that we would recommend our friends at Axis1 golf.

Thanks for being a golf spy and feel free to ask us any questions via our website.

Best regards,

Mr. Rootselaar, thanks very much for your detailed reply.

I'm personally having trouble visualizing the concept of bellying the ball. Perhaps if a video were made that demonstrated effective use of this club, this may help others like myself to gain better understanding.

Hello Moecat,

We're flying out of Orlando tonight and indeed a video is in our future plans as we build out more info on the putter --- part of our "growing pains". The website will begin to have more updates and info during the month of February as our second putter is completed. It will have less toe weighting, a more traditional look, but still the same great roll.

Thanks for being a spy!
