I  have a golf (nylon) brush on my bag and use it on the course when i see grass or dirt on the clubface  When I get home its nylon brush and damp cloth after every round.  Once a month or so i clean the grips as well. FYI I stay away from the steel brushes - they're no more effective and appear to scratch the surface.

What you're doing is fine. As @tony@CIC stated, steer clear of steel brushes. However, I'll add that brass brushes (though not required) are okay. Brass is softer than steel and shouldn't cause any damage so long as it's not used on any dampening bits used in a lot of cavity backs. Still, nylon is best.

Deep clean? That’s fine.

I clean mine off after every shot while playing a round. Range I will go 5-6 shots before cleaning them off.

After round they get the scrub down. Every single time.

PK (that would be pre-kids), I had a ritual where the night before the round, I would hand wash all of the clubs with  lavender soap, towel dry them with 400 count Egyptian Cotton towels.  For the grips, a light wash with eucalyptus mint soap, and Pat dry with the same cotton towel. I would also wipe them in between shots.  AK (after kids) - as long as i can see the grooves a little I'm ok.  Lucky if they get wiped down once a month😁😅😂

I have club care at my club and store my clubs there.  They get cleaned every time I bring them in.  Between shots, I may or may not wipe them off with a wet towel hanging on my bag.

I clean mine after every shot. We have a ball and iron washer on our carts at our club. When I get up the next day I take the clubs out on the patio and pull each one to make sure that they are clean and the grooves are clean of dirt and grass as well. I've been playing for years and started doing this when I first started playing and still do it.  I try to take care of them as I do all my possessions.

I wipe the club after every shot on the course with a wet towel, and sometimes will use a brush on the grooves if they need a little more love.

It's a habit thing for me to keep the faces as clean as possible during a round of play.

Also, I try to remember once a month to wash the grips with warm water and dish soap.
