Well done gents! The insights you have shared are supported by what seem to be fairly robust testing protocols developed by each of you. I enjoyed reading these reviews very much and will definitely keep Sub70 in mind when it comes time to replace my wedges.

Last night in league I played my first round with my "mixed" set of wedges (Cleveland 54*, Sub70 58*). I chipped in for birdie on the 9th with the Sub70. I would take these results all day, any day....

I haven't played a ton of golf since we wrapped up the reviews, but this week in league was the 2nd 9-hole round with my Cleveland 54* and Sub70 58*. I have zero complaints at this point....

Been a while since I have posted an update but the TAIII's are still very comfortably in the bag. I love the 60° still and it is a consistent weapon around the greens. Both these wedges fly very very straight on the target line with no concerns of spin loss.

One thing to note about forged clubs especially wedges is that dings will happen on the face. My 60° has unfortunately suffered this fate but luckily it is in the middle of the face so it shouldn't effect any of my shots moving forward. I'm not sure where this came from but I'm gonna assume that I am so strong i can dent metal with a golf ball.

 IMG_6082.jpg.40497bf0084d47237226fbed0278d62c.jpg

In all seriousness this has had no effect on performance and I couldn't even tell you when it happened. This is just something to be okay with as it will happen at some point and to not get upset when it does.

I have a few rounds coming up in September as well as a golf trip so I will have plenty of Arccos data to post at the end of the month.

I have still to this day been so pleased with my wedges! Even after quite some time and several rounds & practices, these wedges are living up to the premium standard that they have been built for. Still get tons of spin and I have no worries around the green (see my VCT Week 26 score here soon to see all the up and downs I got!). Still highly recommend people looking for a premium wedge at an incredible price go and put these wedges on their list.

I'm still using the RTX Zipcore 54 and the Sub70 58 and really liking the setup. I have zero complaints and like having options. I keep thinking that if/when it gets firm, I'll switch the lower bounce TAIII 54, but apparently mother nature decided we wouldn't really have a totally dry time this summer. Grass was greener this August than I can ever recall seeing.

Wedges have been completely safe in the bag and my short game hasn't been in as good of a place in a long time. According to arccos it's my best aspect of my game and I am gaining 2.2 strokes per round compared to someone of my handicap level (12) and 0.9 strokes gained compared to my target handicap of 4. Last weekend they led to 3 birdies in one round and having my putter do the rest. 3 birdies in a round for me is a lot since I average about maybe 1 every 18 holes.

One thing that I would like to add is that my 56° has just a hair too much bounce for my liking. When it comes time to get new wedges these will for sure be in consideration however I would potentially go with the 54° and have it bent 2° weak to get the same loft and gapping but have a little less bounce which is something I prefer. These wedges have no problem in the bendable category so that wouldn't be a stretch at all.

Played 3 round with the new TAIII wedges.. and they are getting better and better each round.  Hit and stop performance from full wedge shots is impressive. Even my playing partner and to come and check out the wedge after seeing the ball hit the green and just stop.
Around the greens not as much bite as my old TM MG3 but that also could be that am now using the Maxfli X vs the Tour Response which spins alot more.

Update 2/22/2024

I have been going to the PGASS now that they have the new bay with Trackman.

The action on my TAIII , 7/10 shots spun back and the spin rate 9k to 10k

So I ended up benching my 56° TAIII wedge for my round this past Thursday and subbed back in my SM8 56° for the day and my practice sessions since then. The main reason for this was I just got the yips with the TAIII in my hands while on the course which is strange because practicing with it there are zero issues and still genuinely love the wedge. I think my indoor practice is able to hide the fact that maybe the sole grind and 12° of bounce just aren't for me when it comes to actually being out on the course. I'm  reasonably sure I mentioned this in my review but looking back I think the 54° bent 2 degrees weak might have been a better fit for me.

I will say though on a positive note the 60°LB is still very comfortably in the bag and isn't going anywhere any time soon.

*Update*

After a very brief experiment with the TAIII 56° being replaced by the SM8 56° the TAIII is back in the bag and reassured I made the correct decision after my review. I have been fortunate enough to get a few rounds this winter under my belt here in New Jersey and the TAIII has been lovely in the bag still. I will also say that the 60° is my biggest savior when chipping around the green as well. Genuinely considering replacing the 60° with another one when the grooves start to wear out a bit after next season.
