So played 15 Saturday (it was getting late and dark); played 9 walking Sunday; took it easy Monday; played 9 walking today. Also been keeping up with leg and hip exercises; gonna get a little cardio in tomorrow.

Just shy of three weeks from the Marine Corps Marathon. Today was my last "long" run though I still have a 10 miler this Sunday.

Fit for Golf this morning, coming up on a month and really starting to feel it. That and adding in the mobility has been great.

Running on the off days is going well too, especially with these very cool mornings that have settled in here.

The exercises that give me the biggest benefits are full ROM squats and deadlifts. My back and hips feel so much better after a workout with a good compound lift that puts me through a full range of motion. I can tell when I skip them!

I have been in Altra's for the last 5-6 years. It took some adjustment when I switched from Brooks. Coupled with a transition to POSE/forefoot running, my calves and hamstrings were not used to the load and hurt like a MFr for the first 6 weeks. It's all rose gardens and HJ's at this point though!

Was out of town last week for a work conference, and the hotel gym sucked. I used that excuse to not do anything, and I'm feeling it this week. I'm afraid of getting stuck on the toilet because my legs hurt so bad.

Walked to/from acupuncture; later did 30 mins on the air resistance bike. My smart scale (Wyze mentioned earlier in this thread) thinks I'm doing something right .. my metabolic age stat dropped -1 yr.

And oh yeah man I love love love my foam roller!! (tho no gummies are involved, just the morning coffee)

I might have to try to look up how to properly use the foam roller. When I used to use one after long runs for marathon prep, it would be borderline too painful!  
I haven’t really used one since.

Remember that there's no growth inside the comfort zone - the pain lets you know you're alive! Embrace it!

You'll have to work to find positions that you can brace yourself and limit how much weight you are putting on any one spot. Hamstrings are really hard for me to hit effectively - it's either an 11/10 on pain or zero. My IT band is probably the most painful spot that I know of, I have to keep my opposite foot on the ground and do a side plank to be able to hit it. Shoulders and back can be hard to get into, I have a smaller lacrosse ball style of roller for the hard to hit areas.

Back to tracking this week and have maintained solid nutrition. No overages and have been good about hitting my minimum protein intake of 140g. Cutting back on the beers again after a nice lapse from giving two sh*ts about counting them as part of my caloric intake. It's time to stop effing around and hit my goals.

New work schedule will give me a hour every morning to workout.  I’m going to start the quest for 125mph + CHS training again.  My wife doesn’t know it yet, but I’m about to get RYP’d!  Plan to incorporate a lot of stretching, core, upper body work, and some basic lower body stuff.  Then running for at least 30 minutes a day M-F.
 

Goal is to get rid of 10 pounds and get down to 178-180 range, and add some strength, swing power, and flexibility.

Here's my collection and yes the purple one I got for my wife! 

@jbern the long black one on the right is from Amazon Basics and the softest / easiest of the bunch.

The blue one has a hard PVC core so it's firm, and good, but fyi I didn't like the difference in height between the small nubs and the larger ones (kinda of a bumpy ride when you roll).

The short black one lower left is my current fave and travels everywhere with me!

The one I have is similar to the short black on that is your current favorite! Last night, I did watch a video on rolling out hamstrings because I had a deadlift workout yesterday morning. It felt so, so, so good (after a bit of pain @taylorjonasher said I should embrace)! I think I'm rolling the night after a workout on a regular basis! Thanks for the encouragement everyone!

Thurs did a range "workout" and short game practice; yesterday did a light shoulder routine, some bodyweight squats and 30 mins on the elliptical. Today I'm busting my hump clearing out my yard work To Do list. Maybe tomorrow some actual golf time...

By the way, I joined the “weight watchers” app to help with my acid reflux I’ve been dealing with for a decade.  I was taking a Prilosec at least every other day.  I haven’t taken one in a week, and I’ve lost 4.6 lbs in two weeks of joining.  If I can lose 6 more pounds I’ll be at my last marathon weight.  
 

it’s pretty eye opening keeping an eye on what you eat everyday.  My doctor recommended the app after my last acid reflux appointment.

Took a longish brisk walk, some hills, with my honey yesterday; played 9 walking today. Feeling (mostly, pretty) good.
