I think the poses in the article make for an easy access point for those who may be leary of yoga or haven’t done yoga and may be curious to try. Anything to help with hip mobility is a big win. StrokerAce
in all honesty - this is probably lasting about 3 seconds... however - the supine twist is one of the absolute best I've found for stretching the back. BigLebowski
Yoga can be a life changer for those with a chronically sore low back. For me, it was hip focused stretching and mobility work that was most effective in easing my back pain. Committing to it 2-3x per week worked best in my case. Highly recommend to anyone but especially those with some nagging back issues! Rob Person and cksurfdude

Gonna .. *try to* .. add the Pigeon Pose into my current routine... Pigeon Pose is one of the harder ones for me to do (especially compared to the instructors)! That must just mean I need to keep at it. I try to do a yoga or stretching routine once a week. It's always a good challenge and I usually end up sweating just as much as a normal workout. Shrek74
The thing I like best about this list is that it's not yoga like most people think of yoga. People hear yoga and think it's some hippie dippie touchy feely stuff. But it's really not. These positions, for the most part could be looked at as just stretches if someone didn't tell you they were yoga poses. I've done the pigeon pose with with the front leg up on a padded table at the gym after workouts. I've done a version of the supine twist for years. I've even done a version of the high lunge presses just without the hands in the air. I never knew they were considered yoga poses, I just used them for quality stretching. And I really need to get back to them to help with opening up and loosening up my hips. Thanks for the article Jamie. The wife and I started doing Yin yoga just a few weeks ago and my recovery from hitting balls and walking 18 holes is so much faster. I thought the same thing that yoga was hippy-dippy but it's just a routine to stretch and hold poses for 2-3 minutes. I'm turning 50 in a month and need all the help I can get. I hit 150 balls on Saturday after doing yoga and felt fine afterwards. Then we did yoga Sunday, I hit another 60 or so balls and walked 18 holes. Today, I feel 80% better than I usually would. My hips and lower/middle back are hardly tight and only a little bit sore where as before practicing yoga, I would be hurting getting up from a seated position. To me, this is a game changer since my physical limitations were keeping me from practicing as much as I would have liked. Now it feels like there's nothing stopping me from my golf goals. cksurfdude 1 Quote SIM2 MAX D w/Diamana S 60 SIM2 MAX5 Wood FW S-6 SIM MAX 3&4 hybrids w/Ventus Blue FW-7 Ping i230 5-PW w/DG 105g TaylorMade MG3 50/54/58 wedges w/DG S200 Cleveland HB SOFT 4 putter
