Gbufer
Was wondering if anyone has found a ball that is similar or comparable to the left dash. I love it off the tee and with my irons but it is a little too hard chipping and putting with a clicky sound. Also they can be hard to find so was wondering if anyone has something comparable. I have heard the tp5x is close but recently those balls have had issues with their core and are now under quality checks. Also if anyone has a way to test golf balls other then buying a ton of them and spending a bunch of money to try one golf ball that insight would be fantastic. SDGolf619
Try the Maxfli Tour or Tour X. If you like them, you can sign up for Dick's SMS alerts and get $20 off your first $100+ order. Despite them saying the 48 pack are on sale, just present the promo code at the register and it worked for me. 48 balls were only $98. Erin B
18 minutes ago, GolfSpy_APH said: Chrome Tour worth a look and Maxfli Tour X I would have to agree. I didn't think the new Chrome Tour would pull me away from my gamers (OnCore and the Pro V1 families). That's not to say that I won't buy some left - (or Pro V1 -) or other Pro V1s, but I really liked the Chrome Tour and Tour X during my MGS testing opportunity. I haven't tried the Maxfli Tour X's yet. I have tested the Bridgestone MindSet RX and they are good balls, but not as good as the Chrome Tour/X or Pro V1/X/-. MVJameson
I have not played a -ProV1 but aren't they supposed to be the less spinny model? LimeTime
If you're looking for a ball "fitting" tool - Ping's Ballnamic is a good one. If you've got sim data I would imagine it is even better. 5 fittings per purchase; be careful because they aren't the clearest on what constitutes a single "fitting" and those rack up quickly, though. Ballnamic is where I found the Chrome Tour rec. bama no 1 1 Quote Driver: PING G430LST; Fujikura Ventus Red 6X; 9* 3 Wood: Titleist TSR3; Fujikura Ventus TR Red 7X; 15* Driving Iron: PXG 0311X Gen5; Fujikura Ventus HB Blue; 17* 4-PW: PXG 0317 ST; TT Dynamic Gold 120 X; 1.5* Strong, 1 Up 50/56/60: Vokey SM9; TT Dynamic Gold Tour X Putter: L.A.B. GregGarner
I suppose my first question is "in what way?" I could switch back and forth pretty easily between Left Dash and Chrome Soft X LS last season, but the new Chrome Tour is definitively this year's gamer. Much, much softer, but they took a ton of spin off it in the long game. The Tour BX is another 'bomber' ball for me, but I can't control the spin on anything less than ~7i and it just rips. The Vero X2 is probably the closest 'comparison' ball I've played, but check my review for more of the head-to-head description (linked below). The 2019 TP5x is probably the closest I've played, but good luck finding them now that they're 2 models old. Allegedly the new Wilson Staff Model X was built to be a direct Left Dash competitor, but if its spin profile is anything like the prior-gen Staff Model, then there's no way it's apples-to-apples. IMO, basically everything else in the 'X' space is going to be quite a bit spinnier than Left Dash, which will cost you some distance. If you're wanting to get comparable performance (flight, spin) you may need to look at the sub-Tour-level urethane offerings like Srixon Q-Star Tour, Taylormade Tour Response, the new Chrome Soft, etc. The feel will be so, so different, but I think you'll find the launch monitor data to be reasonably comparable unless you're also a super high swing speed. bama no 1 and SirPrised 2 Quote Driver: ZX5 LS MkII 9.5* (@ 9.0*) with 46.5" Ventus Blue 6X 3-wood: SIM 15* with Diamana Limited 75S 5-wood: RADspeed 18.5* with Motore X F3 60S 2i: ZX with SteelFiber i95 Stiff 4hy: TS3 23* with Tensei AV Blue 70 S 4i-7i ZX7, 8i-PW Z-Forged, Modus3 Tour 120 S 50*, 55* RTX 6 Modus3 Tour 125 60* RTX Full Face ZipCore DG Spinner S400 Putter: Toulon Chicago with a Quad Tour or HB SOFT Milled 10.5S with UST All-in Ball: Chrome Tour (but I might still have some Left Dashes hanging around) Bag: Ltd Edition Tartan, blue/green/yellow Using to keep track of my shots Tested: D7 Forged 3i-PW, KBS Tour-V 110S - Official Review Blind Ball Test (Ball #3 vs Ball #4) - Unofficial Review V3 GPS Watch + Tags - Official Review Vero X2 - Official Review The Stack System - Official Review
